RearPro R8 is an ambient light rejection optical coating designed for the professional Audio/​Video experts and customized for retail installations. Goes on quick, stays strong, and removes clean and easy.

The coating is extremely durable and abrasion resistant, coated surfaces can also be cleaned with detergents without damage.

This is a state of the art optical formulation and as such it possesses many unique properties which make it superior to the currently cost-​prohibitive rear-​projection films available such as Vikuiti and MACtac. It can be applied to a wide range of non-​porous substrates including polyester film, polycarbonate and acrylic sheeting, and of course glass — the coating has excellent adhesion on these materials. The product covers a large area — VisibleGlass is supplied in (1) quart Part A and 20 ml Part B kits (1 quart covers 1 quart coverage 30 ft²/2.79 m²). Coating effectively rejects all forms of simulated lighting and works unimpeded even in sunlight.

History

Established in 2014.

Visible Glass is the result of four years of research and development, many formulations were created and tested before finally succeeding in the production of a coating which bonds to non-​porous substrates, is easy to use, is chemical resistant, is scratch and mar resistant with a hardness of 5h, rejects ambient light, and guides projected media efficiently through a thin film.

Visible Glass is water-​based and environmentally friendly.

Coating effectively rejects all forms of simulated lighting and works unimpeded even with full spectrum natural lighting on one side and high simulated lighting on the interior without washing out the image.

Coated surfaces have a wide angle of view and absolutely no hot-​spotting.

I identified a niche in the digital signage industry that I saw as a guaranteed success if I could overcome the limitations that were currently in place, specifically the ability to use projected media in high ambient light environments and to produce a solution that was not cost prohibitive to the end user. After years of dedicated research Visible Glass finally came into existence — exceeding my expectations.

Rear-​projection advertising in high ambient light environments is no longer out of reach to businesses because of exorbitant material costs and the cost of projection systems are also affordable with my coating because you are able to achieve highly visible advertising with lower lumen (and lower cost) projectors.

Some visible frequencies of light are down-​converted to spectrums which are imperceptible. Coating effectively rejects all forms of simulated lighting and works unimpeded even with full spectrum natural lighting on on the front.
