So I’ve been meaning to write this review since Saturday. We went to loose caboose about 4:30 in the afternoon. There are signs everywhere advertising margaritas. Well everyone in Texas expects a margarita to be made with tequila. This was not the case here. My husband and I got a strawberry«margarita«and so did a few of our friends. The first sip I could tell something wasn’t right. So my friend asked what the margaritas were made with and the lady said they are not actual margaritas but are made with wine and called winearitas. Gross! Tastes like cheap box wine that it was made with. Then after that they charged my husband for our meal and I wanted nachos. Then we ordered a second set of nachos for our son. After they charged us twice they realized they were out of nachos and hamburgers. Are you serious? First impressions are important to me so I guess I won’t be going back. And for everyone who wants a margarita don’t order one there. They are gross and we didn’t even get our money back for false advertisement. They were in a regular size plastic cup and $ 6 each. There were 4 ordered for my entire group so what a waste of $ 24! Lesson learned!

Came here during PetFest and I wasn’t impressed. I ordered the sliced sausage with bbq on a bun(or whatever it was called). When I got it, there was little to no bbq sauce on the sausage and the buns were cold and unappealing. The taste was okay, nothing special or amazing. I wouldn’t really recommend it, or at least not when it’s busy during an event.

Really good place to get a basic meal in Old Town Spring. Expect plain and not fancy, which was exactly what we wanted on a Saturday afternoon. The outside tables are covered and dog friendly, and they had nice live music. Again, if you want easy, basic, decent, reliable food-this is your place in the area.

I so wanted this to be a great experience. and actually, everything was pretty good except for the food. Perhaps the BBQ is better, but I chose a large Frito Pie. I’m thinking for a BBQ place I“m going to get a decent Frito Pie with some BBQ meat, beans, BBQ sauce, sour cream, etc… especially for $ 9 What I got was a bunch of Fritos and a couple spoons of Wolf Brand chili — with some shredded cheese on top. Such a disappointment — oh well. Nice atmosphere, nice tables outside and friendly staff though. I was looking for a new BBQ place to frequent in the area, guess I’ll have to keep looking. I will not be returning.

My daughter and I are enjoying the chopped beef. She decided on an early lunch for us today. So right now it is like a ghost town in this place. But the food is great so worth a visit.

Cute place, clean and inviting. The food was fast and pretty good. Staff was helpful and very nice. Fun experience and great margaritas!

Pulled pork sandwiches were ok — basic and edible. The indoor seating area was crazy small on a hot day with limited seating. Trying to get out of the actual restaurant was difficult as there was no room. We were a little confused on how we got our food after ordering and two other tables were asking us also.

We’ve seen this place more than a few times in our trips to Old Town Spring and we really wanted a GREAT burger that day, so we find parking down the street, walk over to the place which is usually full of people gorging on food or drinking beer while listening to some great local music every now & again. If you’ve never been to the place… don’t forget to order inside before sitting down or you’ll just sit there forever. lol Well, we figured we’d go with the classic«Caboose Burger» and pay our tab… we find a good spot outside and eagerly wait for our lunch meal before heading back out into the shop world that is Old Town. When the girl gets there with our burgers, i literally wanted to grab her arm and bring her back to our table to make sure she hadn’t brought us burgers from the kid menu! — We ate them, of course, because we were starving and weren’t going to wait another 15 minutes for them to bring something else, but to say that I’ve had better burgers from a food stand at a kids baseball park is an understatement! The meat was great and tasting, but way too small to be a $ 10 burger, and the bread and vegetables were by far the cheapest kind i’ve ever had in my life… I was so disappointed that I will definitely never be back unless I just want to enjoy a beer and listen to music. — Believe me when I say that you’d be better off going somewhere else to eat when wanting to spend the day shopping in this beautiful little town!

Meh… burger was a solid b but the nachos… think gas station chips and liquidy fake cheese. The only thing that made the edible was the brisket and jalapeños on top. Not impressed. Next time I’m out here I will be dining elsewhere.

If you’re a fan of huge baked potatoes, I’ve found your new home. I can’t say I’ve had many baked potatoes that could fill me up, but this one tried, that’s for sure. Next time, I’ll be trying the crawfish.

The loose caboose advertises BBQ, but buys all their stuff from Sysco or some other frozen food company. The only difference between their pork beef and turkey is the color of the disgusting blob of so called pulled meat that arrives on your plate. The boudin is tasteless and all rice, and the sausage has the complexity of a broomstick. There is no pit in the back, just a bunch of bowls of slop and a microwave. Our food was terrible and Luke-warm. This place is a bar, not a restaurant.

Don’t eat here if you know anything about food or are vegetarian. Food is super basic — absolutely no frills or flavor, for that matter. My lemonade tastes like it was made from cheap mix powder, cheese not even melted on my baked potato and no chives, my brother’s burger is on small side and tastes very bland and basic. I don’t think they have a real kitchen here, more like throwing food together in a microwave. Live music is nice. Come here for drinks. Do not touch the food — I’ve had cafeteria food that tasted better.

Came here during the crawfish season. It was the best spiciest crawfish I’ve ever had. Even my kids loved it. We can’t wait till next spring.

If you think food trucks are completely a new concept you gotta go back to the Loose Caboose. This is the original Food truck, or should I say Food Train! While exploring old time spring I got a chili cheese dog to munch on. It’s nothing special but it was served out of a train!

Get loose in the caboose, y’all! After a long morning of knick-knack browsing in Old Town Spring, a good meal was in order! The Loose Caboose is literally… well…an actual antique caboose parked in the street in front of the main café. The menu here is very simple and I initially didn’t expect much. I can always go for some nachos so I opted for the Loaded Caboose Nachos topped with shredded brisket. The nachos were pretty awesome, I must say! They were very simple yet delicious. The service was very attentive and warm although there were only 4 people in the whole place. Unfortunately, we didn’t dine inside the actual caboose but I’m sure they let folks in their from time to time. But in the end, a great quick bite for lunch in Spring!

I’m pretty sure the Loose Caboose has been in Old Town Spring for a while, and the food is pretty solid for being in the middle of kitschy shops. We stopped in here for a bite while out post-Thanksgiving shopping. I opted for a beef baked potato with a cold beer. The potato was huge and stuffed with butter and BBQ beef. For the price, you get an ample amount of food, speedy service and good music. While we enjoyed our meal a one man band entertained us with covers of country classics… perfect way to finish some BBQ and beer!

My son and I love The Loose Caboose and it’s crew! They have good food from BBQ sandwiches to baked potatoes. Over the 2 years The Loose Caboose has expanded into«The Whitehouse» next door, where they invite local bands & artist to play. There are a few TV’s for watching sports all while continuing to serve good food and now alcohol beverages. During Old Town Spring’s Crawfish Fest, they are boiling their hearts out to serve up great crawfish and fixings. I recommend that if you are spending the day in Old Town Spring shopping, you stop by and grab some lunch! Just a side not, but during the lunch rush on the weekends you may wait a bit for your food since everything is fresh & made to order.

This is a food truck like no other food truck. Your food is served and the business is housed inside an old style rail car! You can’t miss this place. A bright red train car at the intersection of the two busiest streets in old town spring. They serve comfort parade food like BBQ, beer, cokes, hot dogs, frito pie, pulled pork, crawfish, stuffed potatoe, sausage wrap and bbq links. We are huge fans of their fantastic frito pie. Walk with the food or sit down at a nice covered picnic area to hide from the sun for a while. This place has been around for years and the people are really nice. Long time loyal customer here. This place is truly a TX original.
