Chris Axelrad, founder and director of the Axelrad Clinic for Natural Women’s Healthcare, began his studies of natural medicine as a 20-​year old college student. His deep interest in spirituality and the capacity of human biology to self-​heal and regenerate eventually led him to the study of Qigong, or the ancient Chinese discipline of cultivating life energy. His experiences with Qigong provided the inspiration for his life mission: to help others to tap into the powerful healing intelligence that lives within each of us. His chosen way to fulfill this mission was to become an acupuncturist, herbalist, and natural wellness coach. In 1999, he began his training in Houston, TX, at ACAOM, graduating in 2003 with honors.

He has extensive post-​graduate training in endocrinology, nutrition, and functional medicine.

Business Owner

My name is Chris Axelrad. I specialize in women’s health issues using a natural, holistic approach. I have done extensive studies not only in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but also Western endocrinology (the study of hormones), nutrition, mind-​body disciplines, and interpretation of lab results. My father and brother are both Urologists (MDs), and I take pride in being from a family steeped in medical tradition.

My personal mission in life is to provide natural, safe, and effective treatment for you, whether you have a diagnosed medical condition or simply want to enhance wellness and balance in your life.

Every day in my clinic, I witness the miraculous power of the body to heal itself. My goal is to help you rediscover and awaken that power in yourself.
