What amazing customer service, and even though it was the hottest day of the year… They still came out late at night and took care of business.!i would recommend them any day. And they won’t rip you off.

My furnace caught on fire over the winter and therefore my A/​C didn’t work when the weather got warmer. I have two A/​C units, one for upstairs and one downstairs. The downstairs unit had been inoperative for a few years, but since the upstairs unit worked it didn’t bother us too much. We had actually tried to get the downstairs one replaced before, and the guy totally screwed us over — fixed it, then it would break, then he needed another part that was a little more expensive… Anyway, I ended that cycle and we just didn’t get it fixed because I didn’t want to put more money into it.
Then this summer I called out five companies to give me quotes, the first four were pretty big and well-​known and all of them gave me varying and conflicting reports on my system. The cheapest was $ 7700 and just involved replacing the furnaces, the most expensive was over $ 20 000 and involved replacing everything, including my ducts. They all examined my systems, told me various things (like telling me that they no longer made the freon for one of my units, so it had to be replaced) and, for the most part, being generally condescending. I was considering giving my business to the guy who was most polite, when I decided to look on Unilocal and see what my fellow Unilocalers recommended.
Yup, should definitely have checked Unilocal,first.
So I called Stacks and Eric came out the next day. He was even early and I missed him because I was getting a quote on landscaping and left my phone inside. He was nice enough to come back a bit later and checked out my system. Now get this, he was the ONLY one to actually try and turn the dang things on! Apparently, the downstairs unit that had been out of commission for years had been tampered with. Something was unplugged and a very basic part had been taken. It was the kind of thing that, I feel, if you were an actual hvac person, you should have noticed. Instead, those previous four hvac techs were screwing with me. Eric was able to get it started, he even added some freon (because, apparently it wasn’t discontinued after all and he had it on hand) and easily diagnosed the problems with my units. Turns out I didn’t have to replace the entire units at all, just a few parts. He was able to get both of my systems up and running with no problems, for literally thousands of dollars less. The best part of it was that he was totally honest with me and didn’t try to take advantage of my ignorance like those other shysters did.
My a/​c has been running nice and cool for over a month now! He also installed the Nest thermostat I got from Reliant for signing up for some plan or another. (When I asked the other guys about installing it one of them told me I would have to buy a new one because the ones Reliant sent out wouldn’t work with my system.)
Anyway, if you want someone honest who won’t take advantage, plus does an amazing job, call them!

Eric and his team have replaced 2 furnaces and so far 1 condenser for us. I am still new to Houston, but I am convinced it eats HVAC systems! They are always running, and ours were SUPER old so I guess we were luckily they were working at all. We had a few hiccups with the install, but nothing earth shattering. The reason I am writing this review is because of Eric’s unwavering commitment to his customers. During and post installation, he always came by (often late in the evening and on super short notice) to make sure I was satisfied with the work and the systems’ performance. In the dead of a Houston summer when every HVAC system in town is failing, it is nice to know that your service company is not going to drop the ball on you and your sweltering home.

I found Stacks after ARS /​Rescue Rooter Houston tried to rip me off. Eric was able to come out on New Years Eve but he found out that the part RR said was bad was in perfect working order. Instead, he replaced the ignitor for ¼th the cost of the estimate from the other guys. The heater is working great and I saved a ton of money. Hopefully I won’t have to call him again, but I wouldn’t hesitate if my heater goes out again.

We had an awesome experience with Stacks Heating & AC. They not only replaced our old and broken furnace, but they did an amazing job updating the ductwork in our nearly 30 year old home — which was not an easy task. Eric is knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful! He and his guys did a great job and handled our home with care! We would highly recommend Stacks Heating & AC to anyone looking for a reliable and reasonably priced HVAC company!
