Very professional and efficient. I felt that I could completely trust what Dr Baumohl told me about my eyes. I am following his advice and will definitely have my eye surgery there.

I had an eyeglass prescription filled here. My prescription was from an outside doctor not affiliated with Mann. I had a very positive experience selecting my glasses. He was extremely friendly and personable, and I have absolutely no complaints. I will continue to use Mann any time I need new glasses. I love my eye doctor, but if she retires, I will transfer to Mann doctors.

I was have vision issues in my right eye that were making it hard to drive and go outside comfortably. I called the institute and they asked me to explain my symptoms. They had me in for an appointment the next day. Fortunately, I only had a corneal ulcer, but the staff did a wonderful job in taking care of me. I will go there again if needed.

Came in for a LASIK consult. From the receptionist to the dr himself, everyone in that office was friendly.

Excellent attention to detail and care and concern. I feel confident that I am receiving the best care possible. Amber was thorough, professional and fun. Dr. Baumohl was professional and listened to my concerns. Excellent experience.

I was referred here by a friend. Great place the staff and the doctor were great! The wait was not long at all. I referred other’ s here and the love it too.

I visited this location last month to get a free Lasik exam. I had always wanted Lasik, but wasn’t sure I was a candidate. This location was convenient and the facility itself is very nice. Dr. Baumohl and his staff did an excellent job in explaining the procedure to me. My exam was very thorough and I did not feel rushed at all. My options were explained to me and I felt I had enough details to make an informed decision.
The actual surgery takes place at a different facility, but I was happy to hear that all follow ups would be at this location. I decided to have the surgery and it went very well. Returned to see Dr. Baumohl for my one week follow up and again received excellent care. Everyone I encountered at both my visits were friendly and professional. If you have ever considered Lasik or just need new glasses/​contacts, I highly recommend paying a Dr. Baumohl a visit.

Sadly, the doctor did not even check my vision, some girl did. Not ONCE did he have me read the eye chart. When she went to put the dilating drops in my eyes, I said, «Wait, doesn’t the Doctor need to check my vision?» She said, «No, I’ve already done that, I spent years at Georgetown University learning how to do this.» She seemed insulted that I would ask. but she isn’t a Doctor. I’m not sure that it is a legal function for a ophthalmologist assistant. The Dr was pretty cold and unfriendly and he never looked into my dilated eyes, only spent a few minutes checking to see if the contacts fit well. I don’t feel like I was given a thorough eye exam, and I don’t think that the prescription is correct.
It’s sad when big corporations come in and take over. When I dial the number, it rings somewhere else and I have to be transferred. It’s a little like Walmart has taken over, if you like big corporate business practices, this might be for you. If you expect the Doctor to know who you are, then this is not the place for you.

I’ve been coming to Dr. Guy Beavers for years and loved the service and experience every single time I came in. Now I’ve been back almost three time since he sold it to Mann Eye and every time I say that it will be the last time. Person at the front desk does NOT listen. I called and wanted to order a 6 month supply of contact for my right eye. I was having problems with the contact tearing when removing at night and ran out quicker then my left eye. They said that I had to come in for a full exam and a contact fitting. I then found out my insurance only covered me for bi yearly eye exams. I still made the appointment and came in. They then told me I could just order the right contacts… why would I do that when they tear after wearing two days to a week? I NEED ANOTHER BRAND so I need to do a contact fitting. They said I need to do the full exam and the contact fitting to get my right contact. Thank you for making me pay $ 230 and then the cost of the contacts. No thank you I will go elsewhere that will work with me!!!

Really glad that I went here for my eye exam that was long over due! They got me right in with a short wait. The girl took me back to the room and checked my eyes and was very professional. When the doctor sees you he follows up with what she got and all I can say is they are very patient and kind. I will keep going back to this office.

I am new to the area and I drove by about ten days ago and went to this Mann Eye location for a routine Eye Exam. I stopped in and the girl at the front desk was very friendly and verified my insurance on the spot. I lucked out because they had an opening that same day. A young lady with blond hair took me back for the preliminary tests, she explained everything to me as we went through the testing machines. I got to see Dr. Baumohl, he was very thorough and made me feel very comfortable as I asked questions about my eyes and exam results. I got done with my exam and found out that I needed Progressive Bifocal lenses, I did not know much about them. The young lady named Amber who helped me pick out some stylish frames also showed me to a machine with a touch screen display that had awesome demonstrations of the different type of lenses, a non glare called Crizal and the thicknesses of different lens materials. This was important to me because I have a heavy prescription. What was so nice about my dealings with Amber and Mann Eye, I never felt pressured to buy. I did buy the best lens they had to offer, because I only have one set of eyes and I have a job that requires a lot of detailed work. I came back today to pick up my glasses and I cannot believe how crystal clear and sharp everything looks to me. I cannot remember the last time I could see like this. I was very impressed with the process from the time I walked in to the Spring office of Mann Eye to the time I picked up my glasses. The gentlemen that helped me with learning how to use them was also very patient and informative, he even gave me cleaning and care tips. I highly recommend Dr. Baumohl and the entire staff. I came on my lunch break to pick up my glasses, so I had to wait a few minutes because everyone was helping someone, another that that I will be back and will not be going anywhere else for exams and glasses.

I read the other reviews and was a little unsure of my visit. The was my first time to Mann Eye in Spring. Boy was I wrong. Dr Baumohl and his staff were awesome! The eye exam was very thorough and they made me feel like I was family. Dette at the front desk was so sweet.
Maybe the other reviewers were so used to Dr Beavers that nothing else would do. For anyone thinking of coming here I would suggest you try it for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

I was also a patient of Dr. Beavers. I thought, why not try out the new Dr. so I went to Dr. Baumohl. Not sure I got a good diagnosis — nothing changed from last year. A lot of the questions were, so are your contacts working well… do they feel okay?
He spent adequate time but was condescending when I asked questions. Asked me, «so do you spend all day worrying about your dominant eye… my wife does things like that.»
Later when I was ordering my contacts and asked for my prescription, the glasses prescription was not put into the computer. That part I had no problem with — rather, when the office assistant went to ask Dr. Baumohl about it, he came back and said that the Dr. didn’t put it in the computer because I said I didn’t want it. That is not true, I said that I wasn’t planning on ordering glasses at that time but that my company provided the glass for me.
The visit seemed confrontational and not pleasant. Looks like I will be in the market for a new eye Dr.

I was a patient of Dr. Guy Beavers. I called the office number today to see if I was eligible for new glasses /​contacts under my vision insurance coverage. I discovered that he sold his practice to Mann Eye Institute. The service there is AWFUL!
The individual who answered my call, Cindy, seemed annoyed with my call. She eventually attempted to look up my insurance information and was unable to find my name in the system. She asked me to contact my insurance company and inquire further, but in the meantime, she could set me up with a trial pair of contact lenses. She informed me that they closed at 3pm on Friday. So I decided to go during my lunch break. What a waste of my time and gas!
When I arrive at the Mann Eye Institute office in Spring, TX. My contacts were not ready. One of the reps asked if they had any in stock and Yvette, office staff, replied probably not with that far +. RUDE, your patient is standing right in front of you, should you be commenting on how bad her vision is?!? The other individual went to grab them and came back with the news that they did not have any in stock. Annoying, but not why I’m writing this NEGATIVE review. The service is the reason for this review. Yvette was discourteous, unfriendly, and overall unpleasant. The other staff member asked if they should give me another brand, Yvette said nothing. I told her that I had called my insurance company and discovered that I was eligible for all my vision benefits this year so I wanted to make an appointment. She stared at her computer screen the entire time while she spoke at me not with me. She said I was not due for my annual exam until September. I informed her that I was pregnant the last visit, and that Dr. Beaver had informed me that vision sometimes can change after a pregnancy. So I wanted to go ahead and schedule another exam to see if I needed a new prescription for glasses and contacts. She said my contact and glasses prescription was good until September so did I just want to order some more contacts. Why would they be annoyed about a patient wanting to make an appointment to see the doctor? I asked her to confirm my insurance member number, showed her my Aetna card. She rudely said that was the wrong card. I informed her that the Member ID was the EyeMed number. They were one and the same. Miss Rude eventually confirmed the ID was correct but did not offer to research further why Cindy was unable to find me in the system when I called in. She also did not offer her apologies for wasting my time. So I asked for my prescription printed out (the only helpful thing Yvette did for me). I suppose I do not need her apologies because they sure do not seem to need my business. So thank you Yvette for being rude to me prior to me becoming a patient of Mann Eye Institute in Spring. You saved me the annoyance of giving you my business. There are plenty of other providers who I can go to and be treated with respect. Maybe you were having a bad day, or you are racist… either way I recommend the owners of the practice invest in some customer service training for their staff. Even if the customer is being rude (I was not being rude) a little unbiased professionalism in the service industry can go a long way.
