check in first! have 2 copies of everything bc the list online is vague but that is not the case when you get to the desk. whatever you do… stay away from «tella/​teela» or however you pronounce her name at desk 20… she is unknowledgeable, very dry and condescending as if she hates her job or herself. i was moved around before getting her and everyone else was decent even when i was confused.

This place is great compared to my local DPS here in Houston. The workers are fairly nice but there was some that were on edge. I took my driving test here and it was fairly easy. I drove in a neighborhood that is located behind the DPS. My appointment was at 3 and I didn’t start my test until 3:30. Which is okay due to everything turning out well. I would recommend coming here. Just make sure you have everything you need a head of time.

This place is horrible. Even the notification system sucks. Once I got called after 2.5 hours they wanted additional proof of my identity due to marriage. However they could see me in the system under my married name when I had a texas license from 1986 – 2004. These people are plain stupid.

I loved It! The technology that is. I knew how long the wait would be and how many people were in front of me. Staff were courteous and very helpful!!! Best experience I had in a DPS office. KUDOS!

This office isn’t like the old days. It’s clean, efficient, and the staff has been over the top helpful.

First these people are assholes at the front desk not taking my completed driving test papers … They were rude and skipped over me and I was waiting 45 mins and I was in front of the line. So fucking rude. I recommend other places. So so fucking rude … Attitudes from everyone.

I arrived on a Tuesday at 4pm and my ticket wait time said 2 hours. That seemed reasonable, considering I came late in the day. I watched the rolling screen for my number, but around 5:30 they stopped using the number system and randomly pulled people from the waiting room to see a clerk! So some people that showed up WAY after me got to be seen first! What is the point of using the «first-​come, first-​serve» policy if they abandon it when it’s near closing time? This DPS would get one star for not following their own policy, but the clerk who finally helped me was friendly, so overall I rate it two measly stars.

I like this place! fast easy and efficient!

My estimated waiting time was 2.5 hours for simply an ID. 3 hours later and it’s at 1.5 hours. Fix the system, that’s all I ask.

ROAD TEST REVIEW:
The short amount of time that I spent inside the center was perfectly fine and polite. However, I went to this center for my driving test. I was soooooo close to getting a super nice and cool grader, but of course, with my luck, I got someone else last minute. The employee who graded me on my driving obviously didn’t want to be there from the moment she opened her mouth. I should’ve hit the gas and run the second I started talking to her, but I was confident in my driving skills, despite how nervous I was. I know that everybody dreads the road test and that it’s scary, but from seeing all the terrible drivers out on the road, I thought they couldn’t be THAT strict. Boy, was I wrong. My grader failed me because my stops were «too harsh.» What in the world?! Who’s ever heard of somebody failing their test because they didn’t make seamless stops?! She acted as if I slammed on the brakes for every stop, which I didn’t. I made sure to look both ways and make a complete stop every time. But no, that wasn’t good enough for her. Not to mention the time when she pulled out her phone and started to text or something. And THEN, there was a point where I had to turn onto a busy street from a neighborhood street. These cars were going about 45−50mph and I didn’t want to make any reckless turns, especially with the grader being in the front seat. So I waited until there was an obvious gap that I could fit into. As it so happens, this took quite a while. There were a couple of cars waiting behind me, but none of them honked or anything. I guess she was just really impatient and cared more about getting out of the car than me being safe. She may be a great driver with years of experience on her hands, but I’m a noob. Give me a break! Who makes reckless turns on their driving test?! Isn’t it normal for people to be super cautious?! This lady definitely didn’t get the memo. She certainly didn’t care how nervous I was or how this scary situation can affect a person’s driving abilities.
TL;DR If your driving test grader’s name is HERRERA, RUN! You’re gonna fail. There are nice graders though, just not this lady.

I will admit people here are very nice and kind, not what I expected but boy was it nice! They informed you with all the paper work needed and direct you to the necessary facilities. The only thing I didn’t like is how we were given a 30 minute wait time when in reality it was an hour and 15 minutes. It was very clean and organized which was nice.

This is about the best experience you could have at a DPS/​DMV. nice workers, efficient, and a very nice and clean facility. I was impressed!

Hands down the worst customer experience of my life. Not only did they deny giving me a license due to the fact that my birth certificate was «not approved», but they hassled my wife by putting her maiden name and forcing her to take and pay for multiple photos. I am dumbfounded how these people can even operate without more complaints. My birth certificate has allowed me to receive 4 other state licenses and a US Passport without issue, but somehow Texas plays by different rules. What a joke!

I generally complain about the inefficiency of government, so this time I am compelled for fairness reasons to report this awesome (yes, awesome) experience I just had at the DPS supercentre. They understand people have better things to do than waiting in line and have introduced this cell-​phone queuing system which is the best system I have encountered in any place involving a line. I basically checked into the queue when leaving home, they told me I would be served in 35 min. I got updates as the deadline was approaching and since I was still on the road after 30 min I could skip a person a few times through my cell phone making me arrive just on time for my new appointed time. I think I barely waited 4 minutes once inside the building. Just awesome. And on top of that, the clerk was very friendly. What else can we ask about?

This place is huge. Plenty of parking lot. I got there at around 9 am but it took me an hour before walking out of there. It’s pretty convenient that the system keeps you updated via your cell phone so you can run your errands nearby.

Omg the best experience ever. Greeted at the door and directed to the right place. Kiosk to sign in on and enter cell number. Why you ask ?
They update you on your status in line and how much longer till your turn. If you need more time you have the option of trying them to let them know that. They also txt you when they are ready and what booth to go to.
In and out in 30 minutes or less.
Technology is very efficient. I’ll be coming here whenever I need DPS services best experience ever getting my license.

Incredibly efficient. I manage to lose my Driver’s License more than anyone I know but this location makes replacing it a breeze! I went this past Monday after a rowdy weekend watching the US play in the World Cup and expected the rest of the world to be doing the same thing. They were– but this did not matter. I entered my phone number into the check-​in machine and instantly received a text saying my wait would be 8 minutes… 8 MINUTES. Amazing!
After my number was called the rest of the process maybe took 5 minutes max and the woman working with me was helpful and polite-​sweet even– never before would I have used those words to describe a DMV employee.
5-​stars, there’s no question.

I’ll start by saying how wonderful it was to get in and out super fast…15−20 minutes to replace my lost license! Of course, I got there at 7:30 AM on the nose and got in line using the online «get in line» service from my phone as soon as I actually got in line physically. I highly recommend this.
WHY ONLY 3 STARS you ask??? I was called to desk #12 and was super friendly to the guy who completely dismissed my kindness. Obviously, I was annoying him just being there… work (it’s a crazy thing). This wasn’t really a big issue for me because I don’t care about his poor attitude as long as I get what I need done correctly and done quickly. HOWEVER, he completely ignored my answers to the questions on the form. I wanted to donate to all charities given the option to donate to — he didn’t add it to the cost. I am registered to vote and he selected NO in his system. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to get my daughter to school on time and didn’t check until I was halfway down the road. This really irritates me. You don’t have to be friendly if rude is your default mood, but at least do your job right. I see much success in this man’s future. Good job, guy!
My advice to everyone, you must act as a supervisor and double check their work because not all of them are competent, especially the rude fella at desk #12.
The women shuffling people through the lines were very efficient and helpful without an attitude, which was a nice surprise.

I drove 40 minutes to visit this DPS after reading reviews on Google+ and Unilocal that people had pleasant experiences here with the staff, wait time, and facilities. I am SO GLAD I decided to drive out there today to renew my license.
1. There is an online queue system that allows you to get in line virtually. Visit this link to Get in line online for this specific location:
You can check your status in line and wait time, ask for more time, and rejoin the line if necessary simply by replying via SMS text messaging with the system.
2. The online queue system ACTUALLY WORKS! they announce the current customer being served by your phone number and the # of the representative’s desk you should go to. It’s so easy!
3. There is plenty of parking, clean facilities, and nice staff — My helper forgot to give me my old driver’s license back and I forgot to ask for it. He chased me down in the parking lot to give it to me. Needless to say, I was very appreciative!
4. Traffic on I-​45. There were a few parts of the highway where it slowed down to about 20 mph, but for the most part it was smooth. You should be contraflow to traffic during the day so in my opinion, it’s well worth it for a simple, reliable experience rather than the anticipation of an experience where you could be held up for hours…
I was in and out of the office in less than 15 minutes!

Never in a million years did I think I would give a DPS location a 5-​star review. Damn, you all earned it, though, for a variety of reasons.
First, let’s get the official stuff out of the way — here’s the link for all of the paperwork:
. As others have stated, it is extremely (**emphasized**) advisable to have this filled out before you come in. I’d provide individual links, but it’s different for CDL/​change of address/​renewals — that sort of stuff. Pull down the drop-​down menu to find your form, fill it in, print it out and get ready for a ride.
Have your current license with you if you’re going for a renewal. If you’re going for a CDL renewal, make sure you have all of your TXDOT info with you, too, as that proved to be the glitch when we got there (explain more in a bit).

Once you’re in line — be READY! We literally couldn’t get there in time! Hubby needed to renew his CDL license, so I got him in line and it popped up that he had an 11-​minute wait. Holy cow! I remember when this location was an Albertson’s, so I know it’s going to take us just about that much time to get there. Quick! Jump in the car! You register your cell phone as the «contact» and it kept texting him that he had been «queued» to the front of the line, to which I kept responding «M 5» (meaning More 5 minutes). Thank goodness I was with him to respond –
We walked in and were ushered in right away — literally — to Station 10. Hubby dumps all of his CDL paperwork on the desk. Boo hiss. Nothing is ever this easy. Since his CDL license was originally issued through our school district (employer) and he had missed the most recent physical, his license could not be renewed without a current «medical examiner’s» form. The kind gentleman that was helping us gave us a list of locations where he could get a physical done and then he told us «Come back here — tell them at the front you need to go to Station 10.»
Hot-​diggity-​dog! Although the physical took a bit to complete, sure enough, we go wave «yoo-​hoo!» to the gentleman that was helping us at Station 10 when we get back a couple of hours later after hubby gets his physical done and has the required form in hand. He motions us in and gets hubby taken care of. License renewed and done! Both of us shook this gentleman’s hand — for he SO deserved it for his sevice.
**This is SO far superior to what we have endured before when we have had to renew a driver’s license. I won’t even describe the depths of hell I endured for years before this.
**DPS has entered the 21^st century. That in and of itself deserves a star or so.
**Bring your paperwork with you.

**Mid-​morning seems to be the best time to go. 9 AM or so wasn’t very crowded, but as others have indicated, at first opening it’s busy and then it gets packed around noon (wait is no more than 30 minutes or so then, though, which is a great improvement from other locations in years past)
**The employees were all so helpful and nice. WOW!
