History

Established in 1959.

Established by the Diocese of San Diego and then Pastor, Msgr. Daniels, Santa Sophia Academy was established and run by the Sisters of the Religious Order of Jesus and Mary until 1994. Now successfully taught and administered by lay Catholic women and men, Santa Sophia Academy has continued its excellence in education through its golden jubilee year and beyond. We are a parish school located in Spring Valley right off the 94, easily accessed from all of San Diego, We currently serve families from Chula Vista, El Cajon, Jamul, Lakeside, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, and San Diego
