New boats, friendly staff and a day on lake Minnetonka. They have a boat club that I’ve since joined in addition to the pontoon day rentals. They book up quick so definitely reserve your vessel in advance. For a day on the lake or a sweet stop at big island — these guys do it right!

Stay away from this company. As the other reviewer said, they don’t give refunds. You will be pressured to reschedule, even if it was their fault or the weather.
There are many other boat rentals in Lake Minnetonka, that do honest business. If everything goes smoothly, you are in luck. The moment something happens you are screwed. You will be forced to reschedule and they charge your credit card weeks before your reservation.
If your reservation got cancelled for some reason and you want a refund, dispute the charge immediately with your credit card issuer. There is no way to get a refund from these guys.
If you call the office, the staff will say the boss will call you. The boss (whoever it is) never does.
Save your money. This business is like a slum lord taking advantage of low income people in the third world.
They charge your credit card and take you for granted. I still havent got my refund for a reservation cancelled due to rain.
They dont respond to BBB complaints too. I am thinking of going to the cops.

I rented a pontoon boat this weekend. Leading up to the weekend, everything had gone super smoothly, everyone I spoke to was very nice, and I was called a few days ahead of time and told where to meet. The day of, I got a call around 1:15 (boat leaving at 3) that everything was all set. Then I received a call at 2 that the boat was broken. That was disappointing, but not the end of the world.
What was really disappointing, however, was when I just asked for a refund, I was pressured into rescheduling or taking another option. I was offered a speed boat that would hold 8, that seemed like a great alternative, except there wasn’t actually one available for a few days. It was my birthday, I had people come from out of state, and I was pressured to reschedule so they wouldn’t lose the sale. I am still waiting for my refund, but I was just disappointed in how the «cancellation» was handled and would probably avoid using this company again.

We reserved a pontoon boat 4 weeks in advance and a deposit and the full amount of rental have been charged to our credit card. When it was time to pick up the boat the owner was not at the location listed on their website «right next to MGM liquors». We called the company 3 times and there was no response. We went to their previous address, to find out the bank had forclosed on their property and they have been scamming customers for months. Our calls were never returned. We have filed a dispute with our credit card company. When we were there, there were also 3 other groups of people that we waiting to pick up a boat.

I expected to spend a few ducats for a half-​day pontoon rental on Lake Minnetonka, and I was right. I didn’t quite expect to get some 1980s pontoon, complete with the dark brown detail stripe on the cream-​colored hull, the pull-​out radio like those aftermarket numbers you’d expect to find in your first boyfriend’s Camaro (um, yeah, carbon-​dating myself here), and the touchy throttle that would cut the engine with just the slightest too-​firm rev. I almost laughed when the teenager walked around the pontoon, marking dents and scratches; it had too many to count! We got a map, thank God. And we got to putter around the lake, which was fun times. But I either need to get my own boat (first choice) or wait for my BFFs to get one, because I’m not plunking down the money again.

I’ve rented from this place multiple times. Once for two pontoons and twice for jet skis. I’ve never had a bad experience. They are super reasonable on their prices and gave us clear direction on laws, rules, and helped us navigate the lake.

I’ve rented both jet skis and a pontoon boat from Minnetonka Boat Club & Rental. The jet ski rental was in summer 2006 while the pontoon rental was in summer 2009. In both cases friends set up the events. I remember being a bit surprised to end up back at the same rental place. So, my guess is there aren’t as many options as I had thought.
In both cases, the groups arrived to very little direction except for the guys being pretty militant about our signing the waivers (i.e. our lives away). I do understand why they need to do this. However, after that point we had virtually no instruction. How to turn on a Jet-​Ski? Nope. A map of the lake? Nope! How to best allocate people across our pontoons? Nope!
In the end the only real issue was that one of our pontoons kept taking on water and was significantly slower than the other. However, I suspect that if we had split our group up differently it wouldn’t have been a problem (or at least not as big of one). We weren’t well organized enough to fix it until late in the day. so, some guidance up front probably would have saved us some of the worry and ultimately mental energy spent to solve the problem. It is also still unclear to me if it was only a people to boat size issue. I suspect that wasn’t the whole story, which is why I only am giving the rental company 3-​stars.
However, I do have to say jet skiing and boating out on the lake is an AMAZING time and I very highly recommend this Minneapolis area activity! Thankfully, there are businesses such as this one that afford those without a boat the opportunity to spend a couple of summer days on the lake!
