The Bottle Shop is a full-​service wine and spirits merchant. We specialize in fine wine from around the globe. We stock terrific everyday values as well as the highest end collectibles. We actively taste new wines and travel to different wine regions in order to offer the best wines in the world at the best prices. We are savvy buyers and enjoy educating our clients. We have a broad selection of spirits and cordials, and have introduced new micro-​brews in addition to our large selection of Belgian ales. Since 1972 we have also specialized in artisanal cheeses, French pâté and gourmet foods to pair with fine wines.

History

Established in 1972.

The Bottle Shop in Spring Lake, New Jersey, is a 2^nd Generation Wine Merchant owned by the Murray family. In 1972, Tom and Marie Murray moved to the Jersey Shore from Brooklyn, NY, with the dream of establishing a fine wine and cheese shop, while raising their young family in beautiful, beachy Monmouth County. They converted a local liquor store into a vintage wine, cheese and gourmet food shop; an endeavor reported in the New York Times in the summer of 1974. Over the years, Tom and Marie worked side-​by-​side educating their clients about wine, suggesting food & wine pairings, organizing wine events, discovering the newest wines, and stocking the hardest-​to-​find, collectible wines on the planet. Today, their three children embody the same spirit, true passion for wine and strong work ethic of their parents.
