I had a 99 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up. I was driving and it just stopped running. I had it towed to Christian Brothers. When I finally heard from them what was wrong they told me it was the fuel pump and would cost me $ 900 to repair it. I spoke to a couple of guys I work with and they told me they were known for ripping people off and should make sure I get a second opinion. I found a place in Columbia that said they would do the same work for $ 325. I had to pay to have it towed to them. They had the truck ready in a couple of days. When I asked how much, It was $ 21… that’s it!!! It was only the coil pack wiring harness. How can a mechanic do all this testing and checking and quote me $ 900 and not see or know about this other problem. I was charged $ 80 for some «fuel pump pressure test» and I feel it was not necessary. To top it off, if they would have changed the fuel pump, it still would not have been fixed. I paid for a test that was not needed. Also they sent me the bill for the test and «not surprisingly» did not include that ridiculous quote. I will be contacting the better business bureau about their shady mechanics. Stay away for these guys…

We went to Christian Brothers and was told we needed 4k worth of work done on our vehicle. We took it to have a second opinion and had it fixed for $ 200. Will never go back there again.

These guys are honest, 100% of the time. I know because I’ve tested them, being a pretty competent mechanic myself. I am a cynical skeptic when it comes to auto repair shops in general; there are so many that prey on the ignorance of the average person to charge for unnecessary repairs. Not Christian Brothers. They do what’s needed and charge a fair price, and they don’t overcharge for parts. They will inspect the car for other needed repairs and make suggestions but they never try to upsell for the sake of a bigger bill.
The only issue I ever had with them was with my turbo Miata: They won’t work on modified cars. I understand why but they’re so good to deal with I wish I could use them for that car too.
