I have been a costumer at troys for many years, with there integrity and consistency my vehicles are very reliable. This is the company that WILL tell you what NEEDS to be done and what you don’t need to do. In my experience this shop would rather tell you the truth before pushing a sale on something you don’t need. I hope your experiences are as good as mine have been year after year. Try to enjoy your days.

Had a very bad customer service experience with these people will not be using them again

Clearly I am not the only one who has had issues… Troys put me on the road with a flat and leaking tire after my car was in an accident. We payed out of pocket for the repair and the technician I spoke with when I called to complain did nothing but attack and belittle me. I am a college student and this establishment put me in danger as I was driving back to school in Montana. My parents and I had both used Troys in the past, but no more! Shortly after my issue they messed up the moulding on my mother’s mini-​van. Do yourself a favor and skip this shop… they are definitely not worth the hassle!

Oh my god. FOUR MONTHS later I get this crap reply? This must be a joke. I’m sure the damn records ‘say’ they were working but that is 100% false. I went straight back into the shop, without leaving the parking lot, explained the problem and they refused service because the mechanic wasn’t in and made me come back. Then I came back, they denied my report and, as I previously described, wanted to charge me. I am proud to have given several bad personal reviews to friends looking to service their cars.

Big, BIG ripoff. Especially if you’re a female. They smell blood in the water as soon as you walk in. They unsuccessfully tried to sell me tires telling me my tread had separated on a couple of my tires. They then proceeded to tell me that each tire would be about $ 150.00! I looked closer at «my» tire. IT WASN’T EVEN MY TIRE! The brand of the tire they showed me didn’t come from my car! I got the heck out of there and went to a much cleaner, friendlier place and spent over $ 400.00 there BECAUSE I TRUSTED THEM! Don’t trust Troy’s! Especially if you’re a female!

Horrible. Smiling faces while they charge you $ 300 for a $ 130 part. Also, horrible Christian station on the radio blaring. Then guy stands behind charging me $ 170 over cost for said part. Dude was nice that came and jacked my car up! Other than that, highway robbery. Fitting for spokecompton.

Had a few minor repairs at Troy’s Tires on my car, all seemed to be fixed. One of them was reprogramming my power window. When I received my car I noticed that the vinyl on the center console had been damaged.
It seemed as though some kind of pressure was applied to that vinyl ripping it open. I took it back to Troy’s Tires explaining the problem and they basically told me that there was nothing they could do, and nothing they would do. They said they didn’t even work from the inside of my car. I’m no mechanic but I’m pretty sure you can’t reprogram a window from the outside.
Bottom line: you may get your car repaired successfully, but you may not get your car back in the same condition in which you took it in.

Would not recommend. Took in my car and was charged $ 100 for a diagnostics. They said they had found the problem so they charged me to fix the problem that they said they found. They did not ask if they can work on my car and called me after they had already charged me with what they claimed to have fixed. The next day same problem that they charged me to fix occurred which left me with no answers and less money in my wallet. On top of that, I took my car to a different shop and they told me that the problem they said that they had replaced was not replaced at all. So again I do not recommend.

Took my car in for tire repair and the tech dinged and scratched my door. Troy himself looked at the ding and tried to claim it was there already even though my car had only 1500 miles on it and without seeing how the tech pulled my car into the bay. The tech pulled my car into the bay, parallel with the support beam for the car lift. When the tech went to get out of the car there was no room to open the door, but he did anyway and with no regard for my car door. The tech did not use plastic on the seat or a paper floor mat to protect the interior from staining from the uniforms of the technicians. Troy’s does not care about their customer’s property.

Car troubles and repairs aside – very sketchy service.
Firstly, I made the appointment online, which I loved. I gave all my info, described my car, and stated the problem. Except when I went in the day of my appointment it was like they hadn’t ever seen my online appointment and I had to start from scratch.
Secondly, I dropped my car off no later then 7:30 AM, after making that online appointment, and seemed to be the only (and first) customer of the day. I didn’t receive a call about the initial diagnostic until 10:30 AM. Seems like a long time for a small problem (right turn signal wasn’t working).
Thirdly, when I went in to pick up my car (40 min AFTER they called) no one was at the counter and no one answered the buzzer. After standing, unattended, I opened the front door again so the buzzer would signal my arrival a second time. The front desk guy came up from the back and said (UN-​apologetically) that my remote-​start/​alarm wouldn’t start. THAT was not what I brought my car in for, and it had not previously been dysfunctional. He asked if there was some trick to getting it to start and informed me it might be 10 more minutes. Then, I stood at the counter for 15 – 20 min. While I did, another gal came in. No one came to wait on her. A mechanic came in the front door, saw 3 people (me, my mate, and the gal) standing in the lobby, walked through to the back without acknowledging us. The three of us waited a few more minutes. The mechanic walked back through with some paper-​work without acknowledged anyone again. The other lady just left after no one had even noticed she came in. Anyway, when all the parts of my car were functioning the way they were when I brought my car in, the guy working the counter gave me some lengthy song and dance about how my remote start was installed wrong and that’s why they couldn’t figure it out.. .
In regards to my car trouble – after being quoted $ 600-​some to replace my turn signal switch, I called a few other places – who quoted me exactly HALF of that. Also, I was put off that when I was told the problem, he tried to tell me a bulb was also out – which I knew to be untrue because I just replaced both bulbs THIS week, and my emergency flashers worked, showing all bulbs were fine. And he tried to talk me out of purchasing the part myself, because it would be «untrustworthy.» Well someone definitely was.. .
And finally, after all my troubles, this place not only charged me $ 53 for a long, long diagnostic and delivery of bad news, they had the audacity to say, «We keep our prices low for everyone» when I inquired if they offer a Triple-​A discount. Save yourself headache, time, and money and don’t go here!

I got a phone call 20 days after my visit/​this review. They said «there were holes in my story» and coerced me to take down this poor review. For the sake of length, I have not included the details of this heated phone exchange, but I would be more than happy to share the nitty-​gritty if you send me a Unilocal message.
The bottom line: I stand by this review. Also, the guy at Troy’s said if I send him a work order that proves the price I paid for the repair was truly less than half of what he quoted, he would take the diagnostic charge off my card. He can expect a letter (b/​c I NEVER want to hear from anyone at Troy’s again) with the below receipts:
«As a disclaimer, I did provide what I hoped was the correct part, which I obtained online for $ 175.95 including all shipping and handling fees. The work was done by 9 AM and cost just $ 59.12 total! Part + shipping + diagnostic + labor was STILL $ 364.93 under the estimate at the other shop [Troy’s].»

We were up here from CA and got a leak in my tire and Troy fixed it right away and checked the air pressure in all of the tires. Great service, friendly staff.

The best in town!

I know I shouldn’t trust Troy’s Tire and Automotive, but I do. In general, people are pretty suspicious of auto mechanics.
Over the years, I have had several repairs made at Troy’s Tire. They earned my trust by telling me my brakes did not need replacement. I had been told by a less trusted automotive shop that they needed immediate replacement. I had been lied to. Troy’s was honest.
Some things bother me about Troys. The staff seems to change frequently. I wish it would remain constant. Another area for improvement would be the waiting area. It has free coffee, popcorn, and magazines. The magazines suck, and the overhead music selection is the worst.
You can probably feel pretty safe dealing with the mechanics at Troy’s, just don’t hang out in the lobby without an iPod.
