R&R Heating & Air Conditioning

I contacted R&R to fix a water heater in a rental. They came out and supposedly repaired the water heater and I paid them. Next morning the tenants again had no hot water. R&R came out and supposedly changed a part. The next morning the tenants AGAIN had no hot water. When I called to discuss this with R&R, they said they had repaired it twice. I said yes, but it still doesn’t work. I suggested that they refund half the cost of the bill and they said they would get back to me. They did not issue a refund nor get back to me. I had to buy a new water heater, which I would’ve done when the problem started if R&R had advised me to do so.

I am completely satisfied with my new furnace and air conditioner I just had installed. Everyone from the salesman, to the technician through the installers were wonderful. i went with from a recommendation from a friend and would have no problem recommending them to my friends. Thanks R & R!

Had R and R out for my furnace. The pump went out, and I needed a quick fix. I called Monday morning and they had someone out by mid afternoon. (That was great). Guy looks at my furnace and says your pumps out. (Yup, that’s what I said when I called). He doesn’t have the part and has to have the office give me a call. He collects 90 some dollars, that I can’t use for the repairs and leaves. I get a call a few hours later and am told it will be 8 – 10 days (they must order the part) and parts and labor will come to $ 580.
Now, I’m not the most handy person, but I’m no sucker. I go to Amazon and find the blower, and through some research discover I will need a restriction plate. (Not mentioned in my quote as most people try and use the old one). It’s gonna cost me $ 207 dollars and I can have it in 2 days. 6 screws 2 connections on the main board, and a ground wire later I have a working furnace.
Soooo if you would like to spend $ 460 in labor on a $ 200-​$ 250 dollar part, and wait 10 days with no heat, give R and R a call.

I really wanted to give this company 5 stars, and I gave them every opportunity to do so, but what it boils down to is R & R apparently doesn’t want my business.
This summer I had my A/​C go out in the middle of a heat wave. I was the guy who didn’t get it serviced before the heat hit and was told it would be nearly 4 weeks until they could get someone out to me. That’s fine. I deserved it. That’s what I get for being that guy.
So when they did come out, the technician, nice guy I can’t remember his name, told me my nearly 15 year-​old AC unit had had it. Done. Kaput. He gave me the unfortunate news that I would need a new system. So while on speaker phone with the office processing my payment, the technician told the lady that I needed to book an appointment for someone to come out and give me a bid on a new system. As I’m standing there listening to the conversation, the lady takes down my information and says she will call me «in the next few days» to book an appointment for that.
Again, R&R apparently doesn’t want my business because that call never came.
«Why didn’t you call them?» I thought about it, but we pushed through the heat wave and the expense of a new AC system seemed less and less immediate, so I was fine putting it off.
So Fall hits and I’m determined not to make the same mistake with my furnace. Having no AC in the summertime is bearable… not having heat in the middle of winter is not an option. So I decided to give R&R another shot. I scheduled an appointment for a guy to come service my furnace. Jason arrived at my home and was very nice (and is really the only reason this isn’t a 1 star review). He said my furnace is good to for the winter! Yay!
However, when making the appointment for my furnace, I inquired again about getting someone out to my house to give me a bid on an AC unit. Good time to buy them, I thought. An appointment was made and due to my work schedule, I was forced to take a day off to accommodate the range of hours that they might show up to my house. Really upset that I did, because while waiting for them to arrive, I received a call from the guy who was supposed to come give me an estimate and was told he was «too busy» to come out that day and asked if I could reschedule for tomorrow! I booked the appointment weeks in advance. Not wanting to take ANOTHER day off from work and risk the same thing happening, I said I couldn’t do tomorrow. I was told he wouldn’t be able to make it out, but he would call me later in the afternoon to schedule a new appointment. Nice. I made an appointment weeks in advance, took time off for it, and was now being told they wouldn’t honor it.
Again… they apparently don’t want my business because that follow up call to reschedule never came! Ridiculous.
My need for a new AC unit is not urgent, but after trying numerous times to get someone to my house to give me an estimate and having them bail on me while not respecting the fact that I took time off to meet their schedule… I will be looking somewhere else for a new system. I’m done begging them to take my thousands of dollars.
The two technicians who did come to my house were friendly and professional, but there is communication gap and a general sense of not caring that has me baffled. If you can get them to care about you enough to show up to the appointments, you might get a good AC unit. You might not. I wouldn’t know.

I had r&r come out for a furnace quote. They were friendly and were the lowest quote. Sadly i had sturm do my furnace and now i find myself wishing i chose r&r.

So, our furnace went out last winter. It’s an older system, so that may attribute to the difficulties in terms of time and extra parts that werent needed after all at the end when the actual problem was fixed — for now. Three service calls and two technicians for multiple hours at each service call. After the first service call it worked for a few hours and at some point in the middle of the night, there was an electrical fire. No structure fire though. Next day, someone else comes out that tells us the other guy didn’t know what he was doing. This is a co-​worker of his and just saying that doesn’t represent him our his company very well. But, hearing this, we automatically feel better that this time, the guy knows what he’s doing. So this time, the system works again for about a day before low and behold, another electrical fire — again sometime in the middle of the night. So another day without heat and the next day we get the same guy, and I think he was here for about 5 to 6 hours (partially discounted since this was the third call and the place smelled like an electrical fire, but thankfully still standing). After this visit the system carried through for rest of the extremely mild winter that we had. Lets just say, many hundreds of dollars and two electrical fires later, and an employee telling me that some other employees arent competent, I’m never going to recommend R & R to anyone. In fact, a friend of mine was minutes away from buying an entirely new furnace and heat pump system from them for about 10k, but we happened to talk before he called them. Lets just say that he’s very happy with the other company (not R & R) that he used. I noticed their responses indicate (according to them) an overwhelming number of positive reviews and/​or feedback. I don’t know about you, but a 1.5 star rating on Unilocal would indicate otherwise.

Last week I called R and R because my air conditioning was not working. I was told it would be seven working days before someone can come out and fix my air conditioning. R&R is the company that installed the heating and air-​conditioning in my new. I called Norco heating and air-​conditioning and they had someone out to my home the following morning thank you Norco heating and air-​conditioning

What an absolutely horrible company.
We called and scheduled an appointment to have an AC unit install estimate, it was going to take them three weeks to come out so we set the appointment. The next day, we were able to get ACI Heating and cooling to come out, and ACI was able to have a new unit installed that same week. So in less then a week we were able to get ACI to come do an estimate and install a unit.
So 3 weeks later the estimator for R&R shows up at the door. Whoops, I totally forgot about you coming out. I apologize for forgetting and he has a crappy attitude and starts treating me like I am some big a-​hole. Well, maybe they shouldn’t make people wait three weeks for AN ESTIMATE. They guy was a complete a-​hole with a crappy attitude. I’m pretty glad that I didn’t go with this company.
If his attitude is even remotely representative of the company I saved myself a ton of hassle.

So here we are a year later and the so called «temporary fix» is still working fine. Seems I was right about these guys. Look at their other reviews. Crooks. Imagine how many people they have ripped off in 28+ years. SHM

I agree with others. Did not have good experience. Had a part go out, we purchased it from a service tech off the truck after hours. Put part in, worked for 24 hours and died. Called other company, came out and informed us we had a bad part. Called other companies and referenced friends about companies and found out they call them rip you off and run. Hence r&r. Furnace was taken care of by someone else.

Called R & R Heating & A/​C on President’s Day 2013 to ask a few questions about my gas furnace that kept turning on and off every 3 – 4 minutes. A service technician came to my home within 3 hrs and no extra charge was added for a same-​day/​holiday in-​home service. I was personally very pleased with the technician for explaining the type of furnace, how to use proper filters, how to make sure a heat vent wasn’t blowing down on the thermostat and changed out a part that was on the verge of ruining the entire furnace due to build-​up. Everything from the customer service staff who answered my call and questions, to the service technician and the owner who followed up, deserves an excellent rating and recommendation. Well after trying to do some research, I was in the market for a new ultra efficient heater/​air conditioner heat pump set up. It seemed like there were 3 big games in town that I could tell R&R which carried the Trane brand, Costco/​Banner heating and fuel that had lenox, and I think another that carried Amana.
I called R&R and asked them for a quote and only had the next afternoon to meet up. So even though I called the day before they had someone out 1pm the next day, who did an assessment and spoke to me in regard to furnace/​air and heat pumps. He was of course somewhat of a salesman but overall was very nice and provided very fair assessment of the job. What was really great is there was not one moment of upselling. He really pointed out why I even should not go for a model that was more expensive. So he even sold me a cheaper setup than I was looking for. He also said I could keep my filter and humidifier. Didn’t even try to seel me his versions. The quote was good and I decided to go with them.
The next few days I was called by the engineer to setup a sight visit. Todd really knows his HVAC, and I was more than willing to talk to me about a NEST thermostat I had. I really wanted to keep but he wasn’t sure if it would work. He even took the extra steps to call the company and see if it would!
They then scheduled the install for a day that I actually had to work all day. I was a little nervous leaving the crew alone but hey what are you going to do? Needless to say 3 guys did the install and I think took most of the day. I got home at 5 to see them all wearing shoe covers and everything installed perfectly. They even cleaned out my humidifier that was clogged up. I walked around the work and you can tell it was all just done really well. Joints siliconed, they went to extra work to route the pipes out of my way. They walked me through the thermostat and everyone was super professional.
Buying a new system is pretty stressful, kinda like buying a car where you really don’t know what costs what. That being said, I can say these guys really do quality work and you can tell that they cared to do it right and professional. It was totally worth it!
Overall a super professional crew and the trane brand seems to be very popular and a strong brand!

Our furnace went out (or so we thought) and we called R & R. They gave a time when they would be at the home, and since we live somewhat in the country, we made sure we were home. They did not show at the agreed on time. So we called, and they said that the technician had been held up on his last job, and was running late. This was in the afternoon. By 9:00 P.M. no call, no heat, and no technician.
So we called the following morning, and left a message. No one ever returned the call and we never heard from them again.
Fortunately, I started messing around with the thermostat, and got it to work. So far, so good. But if you need furnace help — do not call me, and do not call R&R!
