21 Window Distillery

21 Window distills their products from apples and makes four delicious varieties of liquor for your mixologist concoctions. They offer a Vodka, Smoked Vodka, Gin, and Apple Jack. 21 Window makes supporting local business really easy as they make a great quality of product at an affordable price point.
This company is hyper-​local and basically a one-​man-​show so their tasting room is by appointment only. Email or call to schedule to see them directly, or try them out at Blackbird, or a few other local places pouring the goods. They are distributed at select local grocery stores as well but it is nice to just meet the owner and get to see where they make the magic happen!
I got a little lost the first time finding their space so be aware that it is in an out of the way business park area across from Valley Home Depot. It’s entrance is also not really marked and is on the rear side of the strip mall (so you kind of feel like you are in the wrong place). However, once I stepped inside I knew I was in the right place because they had great tunes going and tons of distilling equipment set up. The tasting experience was very low key and fun. Michael offered mixers for the products so you could see how, for example, a gin and tonic would taste with their product. I can vouch that it is delish! Their Apple Jack is an intriguing product, kind of like a Brandy or Whiskey. It has a nice profile that I think would be amazing in an Old Fashioned or for sipping on it’s own. Smoked Vodka had a lot of depth but not overly smokey– tasted fancy to me and is apparently great in Bloody Mary’s.
All in all, I think 21 Window has a great thing going and some of my favorite people might be getting a bottle for Christmas. (Props to Jesse Pierpoint on the VW inspired branding).
