We specialize in wine by the glass and retail. In addition, we offer beer by the bottle and cocktails. Starting August 2, we will have live entertainment every Friday night with a few exceptions.

Our menu is small-​plate. It is designed for [SHARING], tasting, [SIPPING], laughing and [ENJOYING] for [DINNER] we recommend 2 – 3 [PLATES] per person-​but feel free to [EXPLORE] for your enjoyment.

History

Established in 2011.

Born out of my love of fine wine, good food and smooth Jazz music, Refuel has become the great little side bar along Spring Street and Magnolia Street in downtown Spartanburg. After retiring and looking to do something different, I decided to move to Spartanburg to be near my daughter Stephanie and son Kawand, and open my dream Wine Bar.

Featuring local talent, we offer live music every Friday night starting August 2nd. At Refuel, every hour is Happy Hour.

Come and relax. Listen to great music, enjoy a couple of drinks with your friends or colleagues. and experience the love of music for yourself.

Good shrimp and grits, crab cakes, and the atmosphere is appreciatively low key. The big selling point is the white chocolate bread pudding. Immaculately conceived.

Dead on a Friday night. Ok wine list. Priced high but not exorbitantly. Service is friendly but not terribly knowledgable about wine. Nice atmosphere (although the tv’s don’t add to it– its not a sports bar!). They need to do some marketing. It feels like it just opened but they say they’ve been there 2 years. From a customer perspective– I won’t be itching to return but if someone wanted to meet here I would be alright with it.

Very nice wine bar with good selection of wines. I actually chose a bottle from their store and drank that at the bar. The décor is very nice and the owner is very charming and makes you feel so welcome.
They currently serve tapas and small plates but are going to start serving entrees in 4’Q 2013. The bacon wrapped shrimp and cheese plate I chose was excellent.
This is not the busiest area in downtown Spartanburg which is a shame as not many folks know about this little gem.
I’d certainly recommend you give Refuel a look.
