We like to try bbq places so decided to stop in. The place was packed, and we had driven past other places in town and none had the crowd this place did. Seemed a good sign and these people weren’t wrong. The food was well prepared. Service prompt. We both had rib eye steaks and they were melt in your mouth perfection. I had a loaded baked potato and cowboy beans. Both were tasty and the Texas toast was warm and toasted perfectly. Large portions, hubby finished his, but I took half mine away in a to go box. Will definitely go again. I’m thinking lunch tomorrow! Unlike some reviewers, we know you wait a bit longer for cook to order food, and who cares about the roof when the foods this good?

Food is good, but service not so much. Third time being here, never refilled drinks, brought tab and do not ask if there is anything else. I would have liked to try the bread pudding. My steak tonight too rare, but fixed it. If service is always like this, not worth the price. If one time, I could understand, but this is the third time being here and all three times, device poor.

Great fast service. Awesome ribs. Sweetheart of a server. We split a full rack and a couple of sides and loved it. More than enough and great prices too.

Poor service. I heard the food was good but didn’t get to find out. I sat down at the bar and decided to leave after not so much as an acknowledgement form anyone for more than ten minutes. They were either short handed or had an unexpected crowd. But, the waitress that passed me by four times while taking care of other customers at the bar could have at least said«be with you shortly» or «Hi, I’ll be back to help you in a minute»(or ten). Or at least made eye contact. I will probably try again at a later date after the bitter taste of being ignored wears off. But, I can’t recommend them, as of now.

Driving up, the first thing we noticed was the roof, whose shingles have been shot since the 50’s. We had a drink at the bar, which afforded views to the kitchen and back bar areas, both of which were much less than clean. The lights over the bar were covered in grease and grime that had been there for months, as the intertwined cobwebs could attest. We elected to eat elsewhere. Your best bet is to drive to Coulterville or Redbud.

Food is really great. I had the Ribeye and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. This a hole in the wall kind of place that I love to find while traveling. Service was great and there is a friendly atmosphere. I will say that whomever said it was kid friendly, I don’t agree. The full bar dominates the room. While I was there, the large table behind me was full of guys drinking and throwing out the F word loudly and freely. I wouldn’t bring a young child.

Happened upon this place night while travelling through town. Half slab of ribs was huge with lots of meat. Sweet potato fries saved with pecan dip that was almost too sweet but I ate it anyway because it was so good! Not a lot to choose from in this area but I would recommend it even if there were other choices. Good prices, too!
