History

Established in 1969.

The Ruvo family dental practice in Sparta was started by Tom Ruvo in 1969. He was joined by Bill Bodnar in 1973 and the practice was moved from the Woodport Rd. location to its present location on Main St. in Sparta. Tom was a terrific dentist and father and was a well respected member of the Sparta community. Unfortunately, Dr. Tom Ruvo passed away early in 1994 and the practice was kept running by Dr. John Ruvo Jr., Dr. John Ruvo III and Dr. Janis Ruvo (the brother, nephew and niece of Tom Ruvo), until Scott Ruvo finished dental school in May of 1995. Dr. Scott Ruvo practiced with Dr. Bodnar for 14 years until 2009. Dr. Margarita Vergara joined the practice as an associate in 2010.

Dr. Scott Ruvo grew up in Sussex County, N.J., playing football and wrestling for Pope John High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School, and returned home to Sparta to practice as a family dentist. He is committed to helping his patients achieve excellent oral health in a warm and comfortable environment. Dr. Ruvo comes from a family of dentists and actively seeks the latest advances in dental medicine by attending prestigious continuing education seminars including the Rosenthal Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry and the Pankey Institute. Dr. Ruvo is also trained in orthodontics through the United States Dental Institute.
