I started into this trade back in 1984. After spending 4 years in the Navy in Submarine duty I started with a company in San Diego. Relocated my family to Sacramento in 1989 and have been with Roto-​Rooter Plumbers ever since.

I became the Manager in 2003 and now oversee operations in both Sacramento, Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe area.

Incline Village, NV
We called Rotorooter in Reno to come take a look at our sewer line in Incline Village. We needed to run a test on the line between our house and the main (IVGID) connection, but couldn’t find where our line met the main line. Roman came out and met with my husband (Jim), did an efficient camera search and found the connection! Marked the site with green paint (can’t miss it now!!). Jim said he was pleasant and efficient… Great job!

This company has terrible customer service. We had our sump pump replaced by them and have had nothing but problems in the last 6 months since our new pump was installed. We have called them repeatedly for a non-​working pump and they do not show for scheduled appointments. They got their money for the initial install and do not stand behind their product/​work for the warranty. Very disappointed.

I called on a Sunday and was able to get a same day appointment. Chris was sent to fix a loose shower spout and faucet. He did the repairs and let me watch him work so I could learn a little about plumbing. Would use again.

Roman came out late in the afternoon to find our problem and solve it which he did. Add to it the problem was 4 stories down and the clean out another floor lower yet. He hauled his equipment up and down without hesitation. He puffed some as we are at 6800 ft above sea level too. Cleaned our problem up and got us back in use.

My husband called around 8:30 in the morning, expecting to have to hang out all day. Roman showed up within a half an hour. He quoted a price and went right to work unclogging the toilet. He had it done within 20 minutes. He was friendly, clean and professional with a big smile.

The guy that came out was extremely helpful. He tried using the pipe snake to unclog our toilet but it just wasn’t happening. He suggested we replace out toilet because there was something wedged so tightly in our current toilet that he would not be able to get it out. He saw my no shoes sign and made sure to get bootie covers on his boots. :-) He was polite and had a great sense of humor. Even invited him to our BBQ. He was just awesome!
He even told us which toilet to get. The american standard Cadet 3.
We went with the american standard champion, since it made claims to flush 16 golf balls in one flush. No more clogged toilets hopefully! Thinking about switching out our other toilet after seeing the performance of our new toilet. lol Never thought I would be impressed by a toilet.
No military discount but he did give me several pointers on how to save money replacing my toilet. If we did it ourself would save the most obviously. So he told us some tips for replacing the toilet and it was a breeze!

Roto-​Rooter never showed up or even called to cancel our 1pm appointment. I called several times during the day to confirm that they were coming, even being told at one point that they «were a mile away.» I waited until about 9pm before I gave up hope that they were coming. I wasted the entire last day of our vacation, and our family returned home early from skiing to make that 1pm appointment.
The worst part was that they never even called the next morning to apologize or offer an explanation. They weren’t even aware that no one showed up. I had to call them to tell them no one showed and they said that they told my husband that the plumber got stuck in the snow, which was a complete lie because they don’t even have my husband’s number. I asked to speak to the manager, and he never even called me back.
This is the most unprofessional business that I’ve ever encountered. I’ve never dealt with a company that disrespected me, my time, and my business more than this one. Don’t waste your time with them.

Great service! We had a problem resurface that we had gotten fixed just four months ago by another company. Jesse came out to our house in Carson City and was able to show us why the previous fix had not been enough to take care of the issue. He was very honest, explained exactly what needed to be done, and gave us suggestions to help avoid further problems. Pricing was also very good.

We had a plumbing back up. Brad from Roto Rooter worked hard to diagnose the problem (piece of wood went down our pipe during our remodel). He came the next day, located the wood, fixed the pipe. We are very happy with his service.

We had a clogged kitchen sink drain. After another plumber tried and said he couldn’t unblock it we called Roto-​Rooter, frantic, on a Friday late afternoon. Within an hour I had a call back from Jesse and within two hours he was at our house. He explained what he suggested we do, went over what he would be billing for and the amounts and then started work. He was done within an hour and a half, drain snaked, packed up and on his way.
I did especially like the suggestions he made with regards to what to put down the garbage disposal and we will be using the bottle of treatment he suggested.
Thank you for being available at such short notice and for coming all the way up to Donner Summit on a Friday night. We very much appreciate it.

Every time we have guests, our toilets clog up and the bathtub drains slowly. The joys of an older house. Bryan came out and cleared our drains and adjusted the toilets to prevent a disaster over the Thanksgiving weekend. He is very knowledgable and professional. He did an excellent job of explaining our problems and hopefully has remedied them.

I wouldn’t recommend this company, needed a sewer lateral hydro jetted, called the phone number, dispatch gave the on call service technicians phone number, I needed this work done asap, he said he couldn’t make it that night (tonight), so I verbal schedule an appointment for early morning, I guess it was too early for him because he gave me a lame excuse, so I said fine «what works for you?», he gave me a time more convient for him, I call him in morning to confirm our appointment, he tells me that someone had taken the hydro jetter and he doesn’t know what time he could make it out to my job, that we already verbally scheduled since the night before. How does that happen?
Ended finding a smaller company that seemed more professional and knowledgeable then the Roto Rooter technician. And they showed up.
Funny thing is that I used to work for a Roto Rooter branch for over 10 years, made me feel embarrassed for the company. Sorry Jessie, you needed to learn customer service.

We live in Verdi, Nev., 10 mi. west of Reno. We were having minor clog problems
for awhile before the BIG CLOG happened. Naturally, it was after 5:00 p.m.
My poor husband had done all he could do, including removing the toilet,
snaking out the drain as far a possible, and using a liquid drain cleaner.
No luck! Then the water/​sludge started coming up even more! YIKES! He yelled
for me to call someone. So I called RotoRooter. They sent Bryan. What a
lifesaver! He showed up asap and was courteous and friendly. He set to work
right away diagnosing the problem. At 60 feet of line, he found the clog.
The culprit? Dental Floss! Moral of the story: Don’t flush dental floss down
the toilet! Then the water flowed freely again. We chatted briefly as I paid
the invoice. What a great employee and a truly nice man! He said he had
been with RR for 10 years. They are lucky to have him!

We currently live in the northern Reno, NV area and encountered our second drain issue this month. We called and within the hour Bryan from Roto-​Rooter arrived.
Bryan was one of the most courteous and attentive people I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering in any service industry not just plumbing and drain services.
He went to work quickly and with a positive disposition quickly identified the issues and had some great recommendations. Based on his advice and demeanor I decided I would buy the extended warranty on the service because any company that would employ someone like Bryan is a company I want to continue to give my business.
I cannot recommend this company and Bryan, in particular, high enough.

The morning started with a pipe backing up sewage into our home. YUCK! Called Roto-​Rooter and they had Brian out to our house within about an hour. Brian is extremely competent and very personal. He diagnosed the problem and analyzed the best way to repair it. Fortunately, Brian is also a plumber and when he realized our problem required some plumbing he was able to take care of it. My husband has been in construction over 40 years, and even he was impressed with the quality of the work. Brian is terrified of dogs and apologized many times because we had to put our dogs inside or outside depending on what he needed to do. We gladly accommodated his concerns. A small sacrifice for someone whose help we were so thankful to have.
