Las Trojes

This review is a long time coming. I come to this place for one reason, and one reason only, and that reason is: the salsa. It is without a doubt the best salsa I’ve ever had. It has the perfect spice and amazing flavor. The food and margaritas are pretty damn good too. However, there is an awful woman who works here! She has absolutely no manners and she is just plain rude. I believe she must be an owner or something, or perhaps she’s the general manager. Every time I have come in contact with her she is just awful. Very unfriendly and has no concept what so ever of customer service. She argues, she doesn’t smile, she’s the worst! I don’t even dine in anymore because I don’t want to have to talk to this woman. I get my chips and salsa to go and enjoy them at home. I know I can’t be the only one who feels this way, because 10 out of 10 times she’s treated me horribly. It’s pretty disappointing, because, that salsa! Mmmmmm.

I do not recommend this restaurant, Went there last night with a party of 8, very slow service the waiter forgot several items and never came back to check to see if we would like any more drinks or to see how the food was. Upon leaving the restaurant we stopped by the hostess station to tell them about our dining experience and to our amazement the girl at the desk (who clearly did not want to be there) said well you had a large party (there were only 2 other tables occupied) and then here’s what she said to top all responses” we don’t need your business anyway”. Good luck in the future. The ownership needs to take a close look at their customer service, with so many other choices out there I would highly recommend them and stay away from this one.

Always a family favorite. We come here whenever we have birthdays. They are very good at seating our parties of 10+. Kids and all. Tostadas are my fav along with the shrimp salad.

The food is excellent. The staff is awesome. The food is very fresh and has an excellent flavor. The chips are fresh ant the salsa is very go. They have a great menu selection and the prices are good.

Great service, and the chips and salsa are great. I usually order the burrito special with shredded beef, and that is more than enough to fill me up. Best mexican place in the area.

Been going here since they opened. Was always good consistent food and great service. My last visit last week was disapointing at best, both meals that my wife and I had were over cooked and tasted bland. Food quality was poor. Not going back again. Was one of our favorite places to go.

Atmosphere — Part of a strip mall and has the feel inside with the open blacked ceillings.
Food
Drinks — Water. They eventually brought a carafe of water which was helpful.
Appetizer — The classic free chips and salsa. We ordered a side of guacamole too.
Lunch — They have a lunch special menu every day from 11 to 2. I went with the PLATO «El SENOR». 1 beef enchilada and 1 beef taco, you can order the taco with chicken. I started with the taco. It was not a hard or soft shell. I think they tried to fry the tortilla in the shape of a hard shell. The problem was by the time I got to the middle the bottom was completely soggy and fell apart. I had to continue with a fork. Both items were just bland, perhaps I should have used some of the salsa from the chips to give it a little kick of flavor.
Service — The lady that seated us and took care of our drinks was pleasant. The lady that took our order did not smile and seemed as if she wanted out of the place.
Future — Perhaps but I am not going out of my way for this place.

We love coming here. The food is consistent and they always remember me and my family. They are always happy to see us! Not to mention the margaritas are fantastic! Keep up the great work!

The food here is wonderful! I have always been very pleasant with everything I’ve gotten. The service is fast and friendly and there’s always seating available. The children’s food portions are very big and they always make sure to bring a cold plate so kids won’t burn their hands with the hot food plate.

We had an early (4pm) dinner here tonight. We were seated quickly, got our menus, chips & salsa and ice water and then we waited and waited and waited. She finally came and took our order but it seemed like it took her «forever». When we got our food, the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. She never came back to check on us, until she brought us our bill. There were only two other tables for her to wait on, so I’m not sure why we had such slow service. It does costs a little more than the Mexican restaurant that we usually go to, but this one is closer to home. The only other complaint for me, is that the chips are thick and I like the thin ones and the salsa is just red tomato sauce with some kind of heat mixed in it. I like a chunky salsa, but that’s just me.

TERRIBLE!!! THE FOOD AND SERVICE! I dont write reviews but this place is terrible! I love the non personality of the old grandpas behind the bar.Haha. Oh yeah, and dont forget to order a lime with your beer because I guess it slips their mind to put one in there. A woman had to leave her table and ask for a lime from the grandpa bartender because it mustve been too much work to put one in there. Also, don’t order the carne asada either. The steak was as thin as a cracker and the taste was non existant. Better off making my own. And thanks for the baby spoon size scoop of guacamole! The only good thing worth the one star was that they had the MLB Network on! Like DeNiro says in Heat «I AINT EVER GOING BACK»!!!

Delicious & standard Americanized Mexican fare. Quick, friendly service & a clean establishment.

My parents and I went here for dinner last night. We were greeted promptly by the hostess who seated us immediately in a booth. The waiter appeared shortly after to take our drink order and to bring chips and salsa. The salsa was wonderful. I thought it had the right amount of flavor and spiciness though I love spicy food. It was a little too spicy for my mom who does not like really spicy food. The chips were not as fresh as I would have liked, but we ate them and also received a free refill.
I ordered the #13 Chimichanga with shredded beef, and with black beans instead of refried beans and rice. It was very good! The rice was a bit dry, but still flavorful. The black beans were very flavorful and substituted at no additional charge.
My mom had a combo plate with an enchilada and taco, and my dad had the chile relleno. They finished their meals and both said they were good.
Then we ordered the deep fried ice cream for dessert. We all thought it was delicious! A generous scoop of vanilla ice cream covered in what appeared to be corn flakes covered in whipped cream and chocolate syrup. It was also served in an edible tortilla shell bowl. I’m certainly no expert on the dish, but we enjoyed it.
The service was quick, friendly, efficient and attentive. Our drinks were refilled when they were still half full, and our food came out quickly and was served piping hot. They were not very busy (it was about 5:30pm on a Saturday), but there 5 other parties in the restaurant and a few people at the bar while we were there. The waiter also took care of processing the bill (about $ 52 including tax and tip). Not bad for 3 people including dessert (we did not have alcoholic drinks).
The atmosphere is nice too. Sports games were playing on the TVs at the bar, the décor was average for a Mexican themed restaurant, and it was very clean.
Overall we enjoyed our meals and would definitely return!

Good service, quality food and relaxed atmosphere. They always have a good game on the TV at the bar and their chips and salsa is pretty outstanding!

I came in today with a table of 6 and we sat down for 25 minutes without even getting a waiter to come to our table. Seeing as this place doesn’t seem to care about their customers we all walked out. Never in my entire life have I had to leave a place cause of no one at all even bothering to care. I won’t be bothering to try the food when I will never even be served in the first place.

Very good. Never been here before it was better than expected. The server could have been a little more attentive but other that that everything else was wonderful. Will definitely go here again.

The service was good tonight even with the big party in the back. My 9 year old son told the waiter that the sprite didn’t taste right & even though I expected them to blow it off they immediately took his glass off the table apologized, got a fresh cup & tasted it themselves! They then came back to the table after fixing whatever they had to in the back with a fresh cup & waited for him to taste it. After being satisfactory he smiled & nodded & the meal continued.

I eat here quite often and will say they get it right about 90% of the time. Their prices are bit high for evening dining but great at lunch.
The food is pretty consistent, it’s my favorite for Mexican food.
The dining area is pretty nice but it can get very busy and a bit slow after 6pm.

I come here quite often and really enjoy the place. The owner’s wife is such a sweetheart and makes amazing coronaritas and margaritas. The service is always fantastic as well. It is always very clean and the servers are friendly and efficient. Your basket of chips will never be empty.
I do love that they serve chicken mole (unlike a few other Mexican places in the same area). The mole is great. I love their shrimp cocktail too, It is a huge portion and is just fantastic. I have tried their ceviche which is also very tasty. The fish tacos are really great and very authentic as well. The chicken salads are yummy too.
The only complaint I have is that I hate the low-​backed booth seats but that is just a personal preference of my own. Anyhow, if you haven’t been here, definitely check it out.

Food is amazing. I got sick eating Mexican food and had sworn it off. Just the smell made me feel gross. Tried one spot n the food was so so. Came to Los Trojes and it’s my new go to for every occasion. Get together, lunch, dinner, Wednesday. Lol. I’m telling you this place made me want to try every Mexican place in town. Hands down the best shrimp enchiladas, flan, el Carmello, and chili rellaño (or however it’s spelled) for a great price. My husband, son and I ate a full lunch for under 40 $ including the tip.

Had dinner at Los Trojes and at Fiesta Mexicana. Los trojes has superior food. Service was very good.
