A-1 Indian Grocery – Appliances & Video

They have had a recent remodel and have added new refrigerators. The store is now much neater and easier to get around in. They are carrying my brand of chapatti flour. Several brands of rice, etc.
They have a good variety of fresh veggies, but you need to get there soon after delivery — sometimes the stock isn’t as fresh as we would prefer. They have a good variety, better than the other Indian market in town. Also, the other market never has curry leaves. They don’t always have them here, but they often do.
All in all, the better of the 2 Indian markets in Reno. The other one is much larger, and carries a lot more of the frozen TV dinner type foods, but A-​1 has more variety in fresh foods and spices. I couldn’t even get hulled cardamom at the other place the last 2 times I went there.

Small, cramped and full of cool things at very reasonable prices. Spices are usually incredibly inexpensive. I now have enough (400 g of each) powdered ginger and enough garam masala to last me another 10 years, and I paid less than $ 10 total.
