This company charges to pick the tree up and then, they never come back to pick it up.
Unfortunately a true rip off.

This is the third year that we have gotten a Five Star Tree. This year the tree is amazing. It smells wonderful and is shaped beautifully. Tracking the delivery was very nice; I think they upgraded that this year. The delivery guy handed the tree to my husband without a fresh cut — that was the only downside and my husband did not know to ask. But this year my tree is really great.

Horrible. Don’t do it.
I was so excited to have my FIRST REAL CHRISTMAS TREE in my own place only to be disappointed.
My tree was already dry when it arrived and it was falling apart.
I came on here to read the reviews prior to purchasing. There is some really positive reviews so I still went ahead and made the purchase.
That was dumb and never again.

This was my first time ordering a tree from Five Star, and the experience was pretty positive. I ordered through groupon AFTER November 20^th, meaning my tree would arrive via FedEx, just like the groupon said. Customer service was helpful. I corresponded with them a few times via email, and my messages were returned very quickly, within a 12 hour period.
At first, the tree was scheduled to arrive on a Tuesday, but then it got re-​scheduled for Saturday (which was fine with me because I didn’t have to take time off work — I live in a gated apartment complex, and wanted to be home when the tree arrived). Not sure what the reason was for re-​scheduling.
Getting the tree into the stand was a bit of a challenge (we used our own stand, not purchased from Five Star). The trunk of the tree was very narrow, and it took some time getting it to be firmly fixated inside the stand. The tree itself was very nice and aromatic.
Overall, great experience. The groupon price was just right. I would definitely consider purchasing a Christmas tree from Five Star again.

It took 2 weeks to arrive and it’s 4 ft 10 inches with a foot and ½ stick on top. I paid for 6 – 7 ft. Tons of holes in it and it’s drying up just 2 days after it arrived. Needles falling like flies. Hands down the ugliest christmas tree I’ve ever had. When I contacted support they asked for more photos and did not offer a refund. When I had asked for a status update on the delivery they told me to call fedex myself and immediatly offered a refund because of the delay? Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. Anywhere else.

Rarely do I ever write reviews. And although it is ironic to get upset about a Christmas tree, which is supposed to be a symbol of joy and holiday spirit — this company’s lack of customer service/​efficiency with regard to order processing really has irked me. After almost 3 weeks, my order has yet to arrive. It was «processing» for 15 days. I just bought a tree from my local nursery and they delivered less than 24 hours later AND installed the tree/​watered it. As for Five Star Christmas Trees? After a long chain of emails (no phone line available) — I get no refund and no tree from them. Yippee.

BUYER BEWARE!
The order process is awesome, but the delivery and customer service stinks. They get you excited about the delivery with upbeat emails and texts… and then they don’t show up for days. There’s no way to call them. Only email, which isn’t answered for days. And then they try to push the burden on you… even though they have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
Here’s how it went down for me:
1. Ordered the tree and disposal kit for about $ 85 with specific instructions from me to leave it on the side porch and specific instructions from them to make sure we leave a bucket of water out for the tree to sit in until we get home. They’re supposed to trim the base to allow water to go up the stem.
2. Got a flurry of upbeat emails and texts the days before delivery giving specific date/time…and again instructions to leave out a bucket of water.
3. Tree wasn’t delivered on that date/​time, so I followed up via email. Got a generic response that they’re having trouble in Dallas with deliveries and we’ll get to it when we get to it.
4. The next morning, I got a text announcing that my tree had been delivered… It hadn’t. That evening, tree was dumped on our front porch (despite specific instructions to use side porch) with no bucket of water and no doorbell to alert me, no trimming of the base and the netting had been ripped off. Also, while the tree itself seems to be good quality, it was definitely not 6 – 7′ as ordered. AND they didn’t leave a disposal kit that I paid extra for.
5. I contacted customer service and sent them photos. No response for nearly a week. When I got the response, it essentially put the burden on me to prove why I’m unhappy and why they failed to do what they said they would do. I told them to take a hike and honor their stated 100% satisfaction guarantee. (I’m not even 5% at this point.)
6. After no response, I disputed the charge on my American Express and washed my hands of the whole thing.

Got a generic email reply saying they would find out what’s going on and that they are trying to catch up with deliveries. An earlier heads up would have been nice so that I didn’t waste my time waiting today.
Update: Never got my tree. They claimed there was a delivery error with my tree. Might have been delivered to wrong address according to them.

I am a repeat customer, but they will never get my money again.
The first year we received a gorgeous tree in a timely manner, and I recommended the company to friends. The second year the tree that was dropped off wasn’t even the type this company sells (they sell ONLY Fraser firs), but I figured that was a screw up on the local end, and they replaced it with the correct type which is full and beautiful.
This summer I was struggling with an injury that severely limited my mobility. I did not know how long I would be unable to walk, so I ordered a table top tree, as I knew there was no way I’d be able to get a full size one inside the house if I were still on crutches.
What they don’t tell you: Table top trees are NOT delivered fresh like the rest of their trees. They FED-​EXED me a tree. Mind you, I live in Washington state. There are plenty of trees around. I do not need a tree that was cut down in Texas, who knows when, stuffed into a box and shipped via ground.
It arrived yesterday, and of course the thing is completely dried out and will not take any water. The free «stand» it comes with is literally a plastic base with a hole in it. There is nothing to actually hold the tree in, so it keeps falling out. I ordered a «3′-4′ table top». This tree is about 3′ high, and only has branches on the middle third. One entire foot of that height is the single branch you’d put the topper on, and the bottom 1′ has a total of 4 branches on it. If I had a saw and could cut those parts off, I’d have a cute, full, maybe 16″ tree on my hands.
I contacted them beforehand because I thought the fedex email was a mistake, and the customer service person assured me the tree would be fine, or I could contact them again. I did, via email and facebook. Their online RMA form was not working, which they blamed on my browser. They told me to send an email directly to the RMA team and I did. I have heard nothing from anyone. Supposedly their re-​delivery day is today.
Basically there is nothing at all on their website indicating that the small tress will not be delivered in the same way, so I went ahead and paid a premium, and now I have a pathetic little tree that will undoubtedly be brown before Christmas. I also can’t decorate it because every time you breathe on it, it falls out of the stand.
As a car-​less city dweller, I thought we’d be using this company for years, but their service has just gotten worse each time around. We’re done. Save your money.

Preordered a 7ft tree. Paid extra for delivery as well as setup AND the stand. I received everything, but not setup, ugliest tree on the lot, and about 12 inches short of what I ordered. Biggest disappointment for my 2 year old’s first Christmas that she’s excited about.
This tree is not full, does not smell of pine, and has what looks like a birds nest still on it.

We had GREAT customer service from these guys when we lived in California. However we’re in Texas now and I believe the customer service team is different here. My fiancée accidentally put our billing address as the delivery address. He contacted Five Star Christmas Tree via email and they assured him they will make the correction, because they’re less than 10 miles apart. Now they will not answer his emails. So we have no tree and have to scramble to find one in time for our toddler to see his presents under it.
****BEWARE**** These guys are not very accommodating so make sure all of your information is correct when ordering. Now off to finding another tree…

They emailed me a timeframe from 945am-​145pm so I have been at home all day waiting. It is now 4pm and still no tree or update. They don’t have anyone you can talk to live to get an update. Also, after reading the reviews I’m a little nervous that I’ll be disappointed with the tree. I guess this sounded to good to be true. I’ll let you know how the tree looks when I get it.

This is my third year using Five Star Christmas Tree and this year was another disappointing one. Each year the tree has not been what I expected nor what was promised. I swore never to use Five Star again after last year when they delivered a «Charlie Brown» Christmas tree. Seriously, it was supposed to be a 7 – 8′ tree and it was a five foot tree at best with a two foot crooked stick at the top. This year I was getting a free tree to replace the crappy one I got last year that was delivered too late to be replaced. I figured, maybe three times was a charm; I thought wrong. My delivery was supposed to be between 3:45 — 7:00 pm and the tree arrived at 9:15 pm. The tree is fresh, but it is just so average. Their website promises that they are so choosy as to «only pick the top 5% of trees from their partner farms.» Their partner farms must have 99% crappy trees. «(They) scoured farms across the nation to provide (me) with the most stunning Christmas tree.» Really? They could have saved themselves a lot of time and money and just went to the local Costco for the best tree. Trust me that that is where I am going to get my «real» Christmas tree and this sad little five star Christmas tree will again become part of my outdoor Christmas display. For a free tree it’s not so sad, but for a hand picked, top 5%, with a value of around $ 179, it is down right sorrowful. DO NOT BUY THEIR TREES! You are getting a grocery store curbside tree marked up and discounted so that it is still pricier than most any tree you could buy locally. And for what, «free» delivery and glitzy marketing. Methinks not!

The company responded via email stating they’d offer a free wreath next year and a replacement tree for this year. Based on other complaints, they offered the same and did not follow through with some folks from what it sounds like. Regardless, I chose not to trust in this company at all. I asked for a refund and explained my points. Their response? Take a measuring tape and measure the tree and send the picture and that someone would get back to me. I explained that this wasn’t my sole argument although it was a flimsy, scrawny, dry tree. They completely stopped writing back to any of my emails, even just to acknowledge. I’ve since reached out to my credit card company who’s got me covered and has already begun the refund process. It’s called a chargeback. This company shouldn’t be trusted. However, I’m glad I no longer have anything to do with them.

I could tell you the whole story because I am pretty pissed and I’d love to bitch, but here is the summary:
— delivery was 2 hours late
— order was wrong
— the phones are turned off for the entire month of December so they can avoid their customers.
— the ²⁴⁄₇ email support still hasn’t responded to any of my emails.
These guys had plenty of people around when they want to take your money and then they disappear once they have it.
Doesn’t put me in the holiday spirit.

Pre-​ordered a Christmas tree in the beginning of November and was so excited when I received a text message saying by tree would be delivered on December 1 between 3 – 7 P.M.
My family and I waited all night in hopes of getting a head start on decorating the tree only to never receive the tree nor a call/​text regarding the status. I then had to message the support team only to be told the delivery manager is reconstructing the delivery and hopefully I’ll have my tree by the end of December 2. For a $ 200 tree the communication between the company and their customers is absolutely horrid as well as the obvious business management issue. Hopefully I will receive my tree today however I will not be purchasing nor recommending this company in the future.
Edit: Received my tree 24 hours after original planned delivery. Tree was broken and the tree stand I paid for is not accompanied with the tree. Awful experience and customer support team has not responded back. Please save yourself the trouble and just don’t.

When you decide to have a tree delivered, you’re paying higher fees so that you can enjoy the convenience of delivery to your home, correct? There’s nothing convenient about this service. My delivery was scheduled for yesterday from 2:30 — 6:30 and it’s now after 7pm the following day and they’ve finally responded to my emails saying that they’re not sure if they can deliver today, but if not today then tomorrow or sometime this week. I paid an additional $ 25 for installation so I’ve been waiting around for 2 nights for a tree delivery. WORST SERVICE EVER
UPDATE: they said they delivered the tree one week late. It never arrived.

We have used Five Star two years in a row and have had GREAT experiences. Both years the trees were beautiful and full. They were also delivered on time and this year they even sent us a picture of the tree being delivered.
Yes, I am sure that if you went to cut one down yourself you could get it for less money, but I really think these trees are worth the money. I really appreciate how timely the delivery is and the trees were just beautiful.
They were a little late in letting us know when the tree would arrive which was stressful because we were having a dinner party, but it came on time and was gorgeous. We received tons of compliments. We will certainly use them again.

Our tree arrived in the time window it was supposed to. The delivery/​set up guy was great. Paying for installation was TOTALLY worth it. And the tree was SPECTACULAR! 8 feet tall, full and fresh!
This was a totally perfect experience. If I could be sure that it would ALWAYS be like this, I’d order again in a heartbeat.

I keep saying it like it’s a mantra,
