The owner of the store is a jerk ! He yells at his employees in front of clients, I was very embarrassed ! Never go here !!

I remember when K & S was a feed and tack store on the east side of Pacific Ave. That must be 15 or 20 years ago.(I sure don’t feel that old.) Today the store is a block off the main road, and still has a definite country atmosphere. The place is just packed with tack and horse supplies. No feed, though. The staff is wonderful, friendly and warm. They carry grooming supplies, and a few gifts too. They also rent training videos. I liked the prices on the basic training equipment I needed recently. It was comparable to ordering on line. Maybe the best thing is that they have skilled craftsmen(or one?) and can make quality custom tack for you. They are also the ‘go to’ store for many of the local backcountry horsemen and packers. About the other reviewer’s comment; I could be wrong, but I think if you trailer your horse to the store, they will let you try things on to get the right fit. I know this has been done with saddles in the past. And this is on comfortable grass and gravel, not a paved parking lot.

At first, I was pretty happy with K&S saddlery. The staff was nice and I bought the saddle oil that I needed and was on my way. The issue began to arise when I started needing slightly more complicated things such as bits and blankets. First, I needed a very basic slow twist snaffle, which they did not have. The store in jam packed with all sorts of things, but their selection is old. Then I decided to buy a blanket through them, but they will not allow you to return a blanket no exceptions, no matter what. They also will not allow you to return bits. If any item has ever touched the horse, you cannot return it and that is enough to take my business away from them. As most of you know, when you have horses, sizes are always subjective and you might get a medium sized boot on your horse and find that you need a large. You might get the right sized blanket, but find its too small through the shoulder. All sorts of things can happen with sizing and if you can’t return it, well than its not worth me chancing the couple hundred dollars I might spend. I’ll take my business to Tack Room, Too or Stroh’s.
