The Tower of Terror is possibly the greatest invention of the Disney Imagineers, and perhaps any engineer in a theme park. And I’ve been to a LOT of theme parks, and I’ve seen a LOT of rides. –There’s a perfect theme. The setting looks amazing. It looks exactly like an abandoned hotel from the classic days of Hollywood. –It’s well connected with the Twilight Zone series. Each Imagineer that worked on this project was required to watch each episode of the Twilight Zone twice. –It’s suspenseful, but it’s not too scary. There aren’t cheap parlor tricks like stupid crap popping out at you just to scare you. The main reason that it’s suspenseful is that you know what’s coming, but you don’t know exactly when it’s coming. If you have rode the ride before, you know when it’s coming, but… –The technology of the ride is pretty remarkable. Ride the ride, and you’ll know what I mean. Even the introduction video from the library where they show the introduction video is perfectly done. –They spared no expense in making it incredibly authentic and making sure that it felt perfectly.(Example: The ride’s building is 199′ tall, not 200. If it was 200′ tall, the imagineers would have to put a flashing red light on top of the tower, and thought that it would take away from the effect of the building.) I like this version slightly better than the one on the West Coast at California Adventure. This version is slightly longer, and your elevator moves between two shafts. It’s also condensed a bit more than the one in California. I’d tell more, but I don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t been on it yet. But, in the opinion of this Disney nut, it might be the best attraction that Disney has ever created.
