Sparkling Pointe

Lässiges kleines Weingut, das sich auf die Produktion von Schaumwein spezialisiert hat. Es wird nach Methode Champegnoise produziert. Die Grundweine sind auch mehrheitlich aus Pinot Noir und Chardonnay.
Das Haus ist nett eingerichtet mit einem schönen Verkostungsraum und auch Tischen zum Draußensitzen. Ich kann nicht nachvollziehen, warum Vorredner schreiben, dass dort irgendwer unhöflich war. Im Gegenteil: Wir haben gefragt, wo wir außerhalb der Saison (März) frische Austern bekommen, weil alles zu hatte. Mike hat sofort zum Hörer gegriffen und herumtelefoniert, bis er gesagt hat, dass er was habe. Little Creek Oysters hat um 5pm Happy Hour. Super Tipp-​Wir fuhren dann hin.
Doch nun zum Schaumwein: ein wirklich guter, solider Sparkling Wine. Der Kellermeister ist ein Franzose. Wir kosteten einen Flight und alle waren gut. Wenn man 2 Flaschen kauft, dann ist der Flight gratis. Das taten wir auch.
Alles in allem hast es und gut gefallen und die Sprudelwässer sind auch wirklich gut!

Love this place! Beautiful setting, nice people, although the wine tasting we had were on the dry side, the sausage and cheese paring were superb. We had a reserved table in the back which was away from the noise in the center area. Def will come back again!

Sparkling Pointe (SP) is truly a world class gem situated on the Eastern side of Long Island’s North Fork Wine Country. How lucky are we to have them here? Most would agree that their enormous tasting room is quite grandiose (and maybe a bit too grandiose for some), but it’s tastefully elegant and equally beautiful, which is difficult to achieve. Reruns of Brazil’s iconic Carnival is played throughout the facility once your inside, this after you’ve experienced the wonderful music to get you in to the «Bubbly mood» as you approach the building from the exterior.
Their «Bubble Room» (opposite the tasting bar and 2 steps up from the main tasting room) is my personal favorite which features a very luxurious and exclusive feel — it may also be booked out for private events as well. It features beautiful geodes, gorgeous white leather seating, a fireplace that is almost always on, a separate bar, and windows that peek in to portions of their massive (and quite impressive) wine making facilities. I was given a tour of where the magic happens, just a few weeks ago… it’s quite impressive to see facilities like these, in my back yard. I strongly suggest to sit in the back room if you’re able to!
Table Service /​Tasting Room:
+ Sparkling Pointe has always believed in table service and executes it extremely well. They along with Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack (South Fork) are the only ones that are mostly/​solely table service, and are always on point delivering efficient, smart, and top notch service. This is very impressive for a region that experiences staffing challenges throughout the year. Other wineries should model their table service offerings after Sparkling Pointe as it’s executed masterfully and should be the poster child IMO.
+ They also feature a very large selection of cheeses, snacks, caviar, etc., to augment your tasting experience. It’s almost a must, please don’t miss out on getting a wonderful creamy cheese, to offset the sparkling, alternatively, go for the caviar. Heaven in your mouth in so many ways…
+ SP has low tables, high tables, and couches by fireplaces (if you’re lucky to grab one that’s available)
Kelsey & Mike:
+ Kelsey and Mike are veterans @ SP and are generally always there. They’re incredibly knowledgeable about the wine making process (Sparkling /​Methode Champenoise), SP’s wines, know how to handle large groups incredibly well (which is important in the Summer and Fall, which is the busy season), and are both absolutely fabulous. I generally sit with Kelsey to do my tastings/​glasses/​bottles and she makes you feel incredibly welcome. She’s always smiling and just a pleasure to be with while you’re experiencing their great vintage & non-​vintages sparkling masterpieces. If she’s not there, ask for Mike — It’s a MUST to sit with either of them and tell them I sent you!
Wines:
+ Their flights are priced well at ~$ 17 (cheaper than other wineries and on par with the rest) and give you a generous pour of 4 sparkling wines, from Brut to Sec styles. My favorite wine that SP has ever made, was their 2005 Brut Seduction; they’re on to the 2006 vintage now, but all frankly, are quite good. You’ll be sure to find one that you enjoy and love, I don’t recall ever having a «Mediocre» sparkling wine at SP
+ I’ve also started to appreciate their pricing of bottles, yes, some will think their bottles are on the pricier side and they would rather go to Costco Liquors to purchase VCP NV Yellow Brut or Moët for $ 40 – 50, but SP’s $ 20 – 30 offerings are a nice alternative if you want to bring something local to a party or just to enjoy it by yourself. But, the choice is yours, buy local and you may be even more impactful…
+ Gilles, their winemaker, has become one of the most well respected winemakers on the NoFo (top 2 according to most) and produces wine for several other wineries. He is the house winemaker at SP — what a fabulous job he’s doing over there, cheers to you sir!
Parking/​Summer & Fall:
— The only negative is how busy SP is during the Summer and Fall months. I would suggest making reservations when/​where possible, and don’t be late. Parking can be very tough at times and they do have an alternative tasting room a few hundred feet away, which is open certain times during the peak months handling overflow.

LI has some lovely wines and some scenic tasting rooms, but nothing really comes close to Sparkling Pointe. It’s the perfect balance of fun and class. In a recent visit to Sonoma, I sat in a big, beautiful tasting room and wondered when LI vineyards would follow suit. Shame on me… SP is already there. The large white tasting room plays like a modern barn and is filled with amusing Carnival art and videos. Nice day? Sit outside among their 40 acres of vines. Want more info on the process? Talk to Mike and he’ll show you the bottling room, something few local wineries have on premises.
Oh, and the bubbly… the 2006 Brut Seduction is my favorite local booze, by far. So smooth, but bubbly and a tasty finish. It’s worth the price tag. Should you not want to drop that, the Blanc de Blancs and other varieties are still great choices. Check their FB page for fun events like cupcake, pie, cheese and oyster pairings. I assure you you’ll never be bored (or hungry) if you’re coming back for a repeat visit.
Come here for the wonderful atmosphere and def pick the staff’s brain about their products (everything from how to store to how to pour…). Worth the extra few bucks for the tasting 100%
Bonus points: huge oyster crackers with every tasting (I’m easy to please)

Prejudice against service animals!
Have been to this winery many times with a service dog and had no issues until recently. Was told by the general manager MIKE only ADA service dogs allowed. Obviously this person is not aware of the fact that ADA doesn’t register service dogs of any type and is not aware of the law which is clearly stated below.
A. Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task (s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability.
A. In situations where it is not obvious that the dog is a service animal, staff may ask only two specific questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Staff are not allowed to request any documentation for the dog, require that the dog demonstrate its task, or inquire about the nature of the person’s disability.
«SHAME ON YOU SPARKLING POINTE»

Sparkling pointe is the only vineyard in the North Fork that makes sparkling wine. It was also the most beautiful winery we visited. Wines were very good, and decently expensive. We ended up buying 2 bottles of the rouge wine and it is a perfect blend of sweet and dry. With the purchase of 2 bottles you get the tasting of 4 wines for free.
Check in on Unilocal offers a free candle with the purchase of 3 bottles. I asked about it since we did buy 2 bottles and they gave it to us anyway. It is an absolutely lovely candle.
Highly recommend!

This is probably the prettiest winery on the North Fork. The sparkling wines are amazing. Even if you don’t love sparkling, there is something to love here. It’s $ 17 for a tasting of their 4 selections. They also serve snacks and have table-​side service (even for your wine tasting). Classy and nice.

I absolutely loved this vineyard, it was so clean, fresh, friendly, open, airy, and beautiful. The wines are just gorgeous and we ended up having 6 bottles shipped home to California. We were also pleasantly surprised at their pricing points and ended up staying in the tasting rom for a few hours. Ordered some great cheese pairings and munchies and enjoyed a nice couple of hours with some friends.
We also checked out the patio and the gift shop and the vineyards were absolutely beautiful. The staff was friendly and open and chatty. Made us feel VIP all the way and we couldn’t have had a better first stop of the day on our wine tour if we had gone somewhere else.

Oh how I love thee… let me count the ways! By far one of the best experiences on the north fork. The venue is gorgeous! All white, and the chandeliers are magnificent. The service is robust; friendly and consistent. They offer many different kinds of champagne, if you are a first timer I highly recommend trying a flight. They always are sweet and also have a nice gift shop. (Check in on Unilocal for a sweet surprise!) A great day is coming here with friends, ordering some tapas (A nice, upscale selection of oysters and other ‘non conventional’ items you would see at a vineyard) which are a nice touch and turning off the outside world. Try the lavender honey with cheese… it is outrageous! Even in the winter, this place is great to gather in the room with the fireplace and warm up with some champagne. Don’t be in a rush, turn your phone off and take it in.

Not only is this place gorgeous, but their offering of delicious sparkling wines, along with their wonderfully nice staff makes this place A+ in my book. It’s rather modern and very clean; a change from some of the more «rustic» styled wineries. The interior area is stunning, with beautiful sparkling chandeliers and lots of white, making the venue look spotless. The outdoor area boasts plenty of tables and benches, on a patio area as well as the grass. If you do a tasting and want to enjoy the weather– no problem, the staff will bring your sparkling wines to your party at an enjoyable, leisurely pace. Sweet! I enjoyed their flagship Brut, but everything I tried was wonderful; you can definitely taste the quality here. If you’ve skipped over this gem among all the other wineries out east, you’re simply missing out!

Have never experienced such disrespect in a professional setting as I did from the manager Mike. I can think of countless resolutions he as manager and a professional in the customer service industry could and should have offered us to fix a mistake (that ended up to be an error on the winery’s end). Instead, I felt almost threatened as a woman, berated and disrespected by this larger, rude and intimidating man.
Ladies especially, take warning. We’re better than that.
Went on to have some lovely sparkling moscato at
Laurel Lake. Go there instead.

Love this place. The staff is so friendly! From the moment we arrived my party was welcomed and greeted warmly. The venue is beautiful. I wish we had more time to visit. I felt as though I was on vacation. The sparkling wines were delicious and the chocolate pairings were original. We are definitely planning a return visit.
Do not hesitate to come, you won’t regret it. To quote a previous reviewer ‘Classy but not stuffy.’

Must must must visit when in north fork! This is sparkling wine heaven! The art is a huge bonus.

Sparkling Pointe is a very clean and modern winery. It’s nice enough, but its missing that… something that makes you want to stay for an afternoon and relax. Maybe it is the lack of shade trees or the pebbles that make up most of the walkways in the wine trail. The people were friendly and attentive so its not that— for us it was just too «air-​conditioned» and commercial. The patio was full of tables and umbrellas with nice views of the vinyards, but we chose to move on to more rustic surroundings. Nothing negative, just not our scene, I suppose.

Great winery! All of their sparkling wines are made with the champagne method. We got to try 4 of them for $ 17. We paired with 4 types of chocolate and all were delicious. They have ample seating to enjoy food and wine on premises.
They also have two rooms with their stainless steel fermenting vats and bottling apparatus. It’s interesting to see.
They also have brandy tasting.
This winery is a must see here in Long Island.
My favorite was the cuvée rose. But all of them were good.
The servers were lovely and very knowledgeable about the wines. We had a lovely time.

My husband and I visited Sparkling Pointe as part of a private winery tour through Hotel Indigo. This was our last stop and it was very enjoyable & relaxing. The staff was very friendly and we had a tasty cheese platter with our wines.

This place is family friendly so bring the kids if you want to, my twins loved playing in the grass, while mama had some wine!

We have come to this vineyard twice and both times were for Valentine’s Day. They do a sparkling wine and cupcake pairing that is great. Cupcakes are some of the best I’ve had. They are from a bake shop called Blondies, I think in Centerport. Either way, delicious.
The sparkling wine is great. Needless to say after the pairing we had a few more glasses and ended up buying a bunch of bottles.
This is a really nice high end vineyard. Highly recommend going, especially if they happen to have an event going on.

Wow — this place is fancy looking. All white interior, modern art adorning the walls, large crystal chandeliers hanging overhead in the large main room, fireplace crackling with a roaring fire, plenty of seating, and large doors that open up to a view of the vineyards. Another cozy room to step up into with more seating and couches. Now this is the way to do a tasting. I can see this place being the setting for many bridal parties, weddings, upscale events, and even featured in those foo-​foo magazines to show off the architecture and surroundings for those who drink with their pinky sticking out. They also feature live music, tasting events, and dining soirées. Very elegant and chic looking. Not really an intimate tasting room but very well done.
That being said even though we are a bit more low-​brow we loved this winery! They feature nothing but exemplary sparkling wines. Sure, it’s basically their version of Champagne but because it’s not from that region of France it can’t be called that, yet we found their sparkling wines to be just as enjoyable. The lady who helped us out today, Kelsey, was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and really knew her stuff. Answered any questions we had and also gave us a lesson in sparkling wine making. What’s even more impressive is that after we walked in and up to the main bar area she told us to take a seat and she would come by to take care of us. Tableside service right at our table in front of a roaring fire was so winning!
A tasting flight here is $ 17. She came by every few minutes with each different wine to taste and explained each one. It was set at a leisurely pace so we never felt rushed. Along with the cheese, crackers, and fig & onion jam spread we purchased it made for a wonderfully casual nosh to go along with the chilled sparkling wines. They feature a locally sourced food pairing menu set up to enhance the wines and partner the tastes to them. Be prepared to spend some coin here as the wines are not cheap but the quality is worth the higher price.
Even better — buy two bottles and the wine tasting is free! Which I did. Got me a bottle of their Brut and Blanc De Blancs which are now both chilling in my fridge getting ready for us to gulp down while sitting on our couch watching TV and munching on Doritos.

Think overly giddy «brides maids showing up in club wear & arriving in white limos» argh. Or an enterage of «Housewives of some NYC borrough». Yikes.
The vineyard & patio are well maintained & manicured. Pleasant view.
Service is bubbly– like the effervescent libations they serve.
My favorites were the 7 yr brute & the — Brute Seduction received 90 PTS from Wine Spectator, essence of honey and berry but not sweet.
They serve a menu of local cheese, charcuterie, & chocolates. Prices are on the higher side.
