I wish I could give this place a ½ star to make them a 3.5 star. Came for a weekday lunch with the hubs. We came after the lunch rush so it wasn’t too busy. The waitress(Kelly I think) was super nice and prompt so service wasn’t what was lacking. I think it was the darkness of the restaurant and honestly, it was a fine meal, just seemed overpriced. I had spinach and quinoa salad with balsamic dressing on the side with chicken(which was an extra $ 4 regardless of if you got the small salad or larger one… I did wonder if the portion was then the same). To add avocado would have been an extra $ 3. Good salad, the quinoa was hard to eat with a fork so i wish I had a spoon but I ate it all up with no major complaints. Hubs had the angus beef burger with sweet potato fries(the fries being the best thing we ordered). Same thing, good burger but nothing too special. With a small salad with chicken, a burger and a Diet Coke, our bill was $ 30(included tip). Maybe that’s the norm out in Southlake and it is a good place to go grab dinner.

I came here for brunch with some friends, and was tempted by the Latin Fire pizza. It was delicious, if not a tad bit skimpy on the meat. The diablo sauce was good, and not spicy(it might have been able to take another kick), but overall was pretty delicious. Across from me was a brunch special, and next to me was burger with sweet potato fries. I didn’t get to try any because they were wolfed down almost immediately, so I can only assume they were good. We had beers, but some of the drinks are inventive and likely worth a shot. What really made it was the service. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. He was also good about splitting our check — without us asking. It was a cute place, has some TVs for the sports people, and the food is pretty good.

So happy we came here! I had the pasta with meatballs, at my servers suggestion. I will be coming back because I KNOW I’m going to crave this dish. Excellent service and always glad to patronize home grown restaurants!

As a business owner, I typically only write reviews on Unilocal when I think it will provide useful feedback to the owner. My lunch experience at TruFire was excellent today, and definitely deserved major positive feedback. Not just because the food was excellent, but our server Amanda proved that being attentive to the little details makes a huge difference to the customer. While we were ordering, I casually(like under my breath) mentioned that my wife and I would be sharing each other’s orders(she had half of my pizza and I had half of her sandwich, both were incredible). When our food arrived she had our both of our orders plated for two, perfectly split in half including all the sides & condiments that go with it. Little things like that, and a focus on the customer are huge. Not local, but if I was, I’d be going back for sure!

Thanks Unilocalers! for another great suggestion. We were shopping down in the Southlake area and got hungry. I searched on Unilocal and found this place. I looked through the pictures and was instantly intrigued by the meatballs and pasta with the fried egg on top. It was mother’s day, and right at lunch time. We stopped in and they were completely booked. We put our name on a list and the guy said he’d call us if anything became open. When we stopped back by about 40 minutes later, he said that nothing had changed and they were completely booked for the afternoon. Luckily, I noticed that the bar top had cleared out and inquired and he said sure, we can sit up there. Right at that point the place started clearing out quickly and from that point on there were lots of tables open… oh well, we were happy where we were. The bartender was very friendly and answered our questions. I ended up getting the meatballs and pasta dish and it was every bit as delicious as it looked. The egg yolk adds a creamy richness when you break it and swirl it around. The sauce is a bit spicy, but it wasn’t too much for me and I’m not fond of spicy that stings your tongue. My mom and dad really enjoyed their brunch dish with sweet potato hash as well. The ambiance is classy but comfortable. We almost didn’t eat here because of the guy at the door, but we’re glad we got to because it was delicious.

First visit was a joy. First, we were greeted outside the front door by a hostess who escorted us to a table, were served by a very attentive waiter, and enjoyed a very tasty seared Salmon salad. The sauce on the Salmon was exceptionally tasty as we the salad dressing. And the manager made a point of checking in with us to see that everything was okay. Plus the restaurant is only a few feet away from a large parking lot. We’re very much looking forward to our next visit.

We’ve been here a few times. This recent visit I wanted to try the Turkey Burger minus the shroom spread, instead I asked for bacon. This Turkey Burger was so freaking awesome. The patty was not dry at all. I also got the fig salad as my side but will one day try the sweet potato fries. The fig salad was amazing with the sweet pecans. I would definitely ask for the dressing on the side next time. I’ve had their brunch flatbread and it was good. I’ve even tried the pancakes here. The cocktails here are really good. Love this place and look forward to many more visits.

Had an unusual dining experience, to say the least. While eating, a gentleman as not to disturb his table of friends decided to take a phone call right next to me and my lady friend’s table. This conversation lasted almost the duration of our meal. If I turned left I got a face full of middle aged man ass in khakis. Obviously not the most pleasant way to dine. However, our waitress apologized for this as she too had noticed and gave us free dessert. I never get dessert at restaurants so I would have never indulged in this chocolate cake they have. It is amazing. The crab dip was good, though I couldn’t detect much crab. The smoked meatball pasta was excellent. And my girlfriend had an ahi tuna salad which she said was delicious. Thanks to our waitress for helping us make the most out of an unusual dining experience caused by an inconsiderate asshole.

Went to the Arts in the Square and popped in here to get out of the heat. I’ve been thinking about that Blackberry Smash ever since the event here. The Arts festival was a good excuse to come to Southlake and have one! I got the Smash and shared the hummus with my husband. The kids got chocolate cake. Previously tried the Latin Fire Pizza and it was great. Will return.

SWEET! So lucky to bump into TruFire for a late lunch after a fun morning at the Southlake Art in the Square! Service 5+: I noticed immediately how NICE all the staff were in every which way! Even with the people that came in just wanting to use their bathrooms, there wasn’t a nasty look whatsoever, instead they cordially guided the wanderers to where the bathrooms were! As to our table, we had EXCELLENT service from Samuel from start to finish! Food 5: 1) TruFire’s FLATBREAD: tender beef; juicy shrimp; delicious chicken; caramelized onions; ziziki sauce; tomato paste; and, marinated cucumbers in topping your own triangles of pita bread — great concept, delicious; and, 2) TEXASPECAN&FIG Salad: fresh mixed greens, lots of pears, wonderful figs dressing; fantastic with bites of flat iron steak — would definitely order it again! Ambience 4.5: a bit dark was the interior from coming in from the bright sun but once my eyes got adjusted, it was fine; the fork light and rolling pins wall hangings were whimsical to look at; yet, next time I’d reserve or wait for a table out in their inviting patio! CHEERS!

We came here on a Saturday night and grabbed a seat at the bar. The waitstaff here is freaking great! TruFire makes all their drinks from scratch. You will not get cheap ingredients here! I tried their top shelf margarita, and it did not disappoint! At the recommendation of our waitstaff we shared the make your own flatbread. This was interesting, all the ingredients come separately. Interesting concept, but I’m not sure I really liked it. It was really slices of pita bread and some hummus and other items. It all tasted good, but just was not for me. We spilt the bolognese, and it was fantastic! The portions are large enough to split between two adults. TruFire is a great place!

TruFire experienced for the first time spontaneously today. We eat out most meals and continually search for quality foods and atmosphere. We sat on the patio and shared the Chicken Braciole. The waitress had the kitchen perfectly split our meal which is the perfect lunch portion. The patio feels classy with upbeat music. The Chicken was stuffed with prosciutto & white cheese. Braciola was seasoned with a spiced tomato sauce over orzo. We will definitely return. The inside is classy too. Life happens in the kitchen is the motto! Love it! They have Andes mints. Love the chocolaty/minty flavor!

Came here on a week night and the energy of the restaurant was great. TrueFire felt trendy and everyone was very welcoming. It was a big disappointment when we were seated at a table in the back corner of the restaurant. It honestly felt like I had been put in time out in a dark closet. Seeing as the restaurant was pretty full, we did not ask to switch tables. Like the rest of the staff, the waitress was quite friendly and walked us through the menu since it has been a while since our last visit. For drinks we tried the Blackberry Smash($ 11), Top Shelf Margarita($ 11), and Moscow Mule($ 11). All were excellent! For dinner, we ordered the crab dip appetizer($ 14), Texas Pecan & Fig Salad($ 14), Akaushu Burger($ 13), and Trumac($ 17). The crab dip was good, but very hearty, the salad and burger were fine, the Trumac was very very greasy. Secluded from the rest of the restaurant, we waited for what felt like ages to get our check after eating. The food was really nothing special. However, the drinks were great and this place has a nice energy to it. On a nice day, I would return here for drinks on their lovely patio!

I brought my work team here for a group dinner. There were 12 of us. I had called ahead and made a reservation and they were ready for us when we got there. We started with some drinks outside and the patio was very relaxing. I was impressed with the menu as it had lots of variety — important when trying to please 12 people. I had the ahi tuna salad which was very good, although the tuna was cooked a little too long so it was no longer seared but more like medium rare. The waiter was very accommodating with my request to have separate bills for the alcohol and only the food and soft drinks on my tab. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I would definitely come back again.

I don’t make it to this side of the metro plex often but I may start! This place has a cute little patio and a nice bar area. I really enjoyed the food and drinks. Service was solid. I recommend the blackberry smash– it has a dusting of powdered sugar and the flavors are good. The hummus had lots of lemon and garlic and the veggies it came with a crisp. I also really liked the spicy shrimp noodles– lots of heat and the arugula on top mixed in perfectly. I ended up getting the fig and pecan salad to go for lunch the next day– it’s so tasty! I love the fig vinaigrette and the pecans. The olive oil cake for dessert was just okay– I’d try something different next visit! I know my future hubby has taken his coworkers here since our last visit b/c he liked the food so much. It’s a win for us– we will be back.

I really wanted this place to be interesting. It looks cool, and the patio had potential, but it just seemed kind of… I don’t know. Deserted, maybe? Like a place like that should have people up in it having fun but instead it’s just empty. The food was about what you’d expect for this type of place. There were some interesting menu items and the chef apparently has specials every so often. We had great service, no complaints there. Good food. Location was obviously great — you can walk around Town Square afterwards. I just wish it had more personality. I’m going to go again when the weather is warmer and see if it isn’t completely different.

Always enjoy coming here. The quality of the food is excellent, the service is always great and the drinks are delicious. The menu is small but diverse with something to suit everyone’s taste. I have tried most things on the menu and they are well thought out and unique to the restaurant. Consistent service, innovative cocktails and delicious food keeps me coming back again and again

Located in Town Square of Southlake, this restaurant is a convenient place to dine in or grab happy hours before or after shopping. I was somewhat disappointed with my food after reading all the reviews. I ordered the seared ahi tuna salad which was a good size and reasonably priced compared to other restaurants that serve the same dish. I’m just particularly picky about seared ahi tuna. I like to taste the crispiness of the edge of the tuna as well as the«rawness» of it. It’s hard to describe that«rawness» taste but all I can say is this wasn’t my favorite. The entrees aren’t too bad on the pricing unless you add in a bunch of extras. Happy hours are from 3 — 6PM and we missed it by a few minutes! I wanted to try the drinks so I have to try that next time. Overall, ice staff and great ambience to hang out with friends.

First time here and I had high expectations for this place and they matched it. I got the mango habanero drink I think it was called. The drink was a little drink strong but good, especially the spice on the rim on the glass! We had the Mac and cheese as an appetizer, a little bit disappointed in this. The pasta was still hard and it lacked taste. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs as my main course. It was good, a little spicy but I like it like that. There was an egg on top and it comes sunny side up but I asked for the yolk to be cooked. They had a couple options for dessert and we chose the blueberry cake. The cake itself was an olive oil based caked and had a lemon crème and blueberry sauce. It was delicious! It’s a must try!
