Art Instruction as entertainment. We like getting people together to have a good time and enjoying each others company. In the process people have unlocked hidden talents they didn’t know they had. Most people haven’t painted since they where kids in school and enjoy the creative outlet of going step by step through the process with friends. Texas U Can Paint is a laid back environment of learning to paint while enjoying a good laugh with friends. You do not have to know how to paint to participate. It’s like playing Simon Says.

History

Established in 2011.

We came to Southlake to bring a new form of entertainment and socialization we call Art Socialization. We see art in everything that is done. A person doesn’t have to interpret the instructors vision 100%. It is nice to see customers put their own view into the artwork they do. I have been teaching people about art and how to paint for more than 10 years.

I entered my first art competition when I was in third grade and won 1st and 3rd place for painting. As a kid I was all the time creating sculptures or painting out of things I found in nature or from around the house. Growing up at the foothills of the Smokey Mountains in East TN there was always a crafts festival or folk-​art festival to go to. My parents encouraged me to continue my art by putting me in painting lessons during my teenage years. I have an eye for things that are aesthetically pleasing and further researched the Psychology of Art. I enjoy sharing what I have learned with people and the therapy that painting provides to everyone.

I went here with some friends from work for my very first group painting experience! It was so fun and everyone had such a great time! It was so fun to see the painting go from nothing to something real! Definitely recommend this location.

We hadn’t been here in a while, as last time the classes were a little wild and the music was too loud. This time, the class was more calm and we could actually hear the teacher! Dylan did a great job, however the class started late and was a little slow. Make sure you carve out more than the time suggested, it’s a long process!

We did a bachelorette party here and it was AWESOME! First, I really liked the variety of pictures you can choose to paint and we had the option to have a custom one created; we stuck with one they had done before. They had a separate room for our party of 8 girls and everything was already set up for us. All we had to do was set up our «buffet» of snacks and drinks. Robin was our instructor and she was a lot of fun! Although we had to rush out for another activity, we were still able to finish our pictures (and wine) and still had time to take a group photo! I would def recommend having an event here or just come for one of the classes.

My daughter has experienced two birthday parties (her friend) at U Can Paint and has enjoyed both tremendously. There is a great selection of fun painting options and the final paintings are always wonderful. This place is a great option for fun classes and/​or birthday parties.

I love these types of painting classes and found a groupon for this location. I was with a party of 4 and I’m glad we got there early because it was packed! They had monitors and the instructor was mic’d so it made it easy to follow along regardless of where you sat. The instructor was fun and super patient. I really enjoyed her teaching technique. It was a glass for 9 years and up and optional BYOB. our paintings came out awesome and it was a great family activity. Next time we will bring our own snacks and drinks it was a 2 hour class if not longer. My dad wants to go back very soon. They even have fun giveaways during the class. HAPPY PAINTING!

I have been to a couple of these paint-​and-​drink places (I feel like they are popping up everywhere!), and while we had a good time, I can’t say this one was my favorite.
On the upside: the place was tidy, they have convenient little «canvas cam» screens to help you see if you aren’t seated near the instructor, the staff was all friendly, and they somehow managed to coach me into a somewhat decent final product, which is saying a lot!
The less positive: The class started late, we were held up a bit by everyone waiting to fill their plates with paint (some places pre-​fill for you), some of the materials were broken (a busted easel got passed down the line to unsuspecting late arrivals a couple of times), and I felt like although our instructor was fun, she didn’t do the best job explaining steps. I wasn’t getting worked up, I have no intentions of ever displaying or selling anything I make with my hands, but I saw/​heard some of the more type-​A people in the class getting pretty frustrated.
Of note– in addition to BYOB, you can also bring snacks to eat at your area if you don’t mind crumbs in your paint plate :)
I know they do a lot of private parties here, I think it might be more fun in a smaller group.

Pro’s: friendly staff and the cutest painting I’ve ever painted at any wine/​painting class.
Con’s: They don’t have everyone’s paint all ready to go and with 65 people standing in line to get paint, we started almost an hour late. All other classes I’ve been to already have paint ready for the guests. And it was the most expensive class I’ve been to yet :-/​
I’d still go again on a weekday! Cute place.

Wonderful friendly staff! Always a lot of fun! Shelly, Andrea and Debbie are our favs! Call ahead and instead of using a groupon u can go to their FB page and buy the class for less! They have a lot of choices to choose from and you are allowed to use other colors and make the painting to your own liking. They also have door prize drawings throughout the class. It’s BYOB and you can bring alcohol and any drinks or snacks you like. Make sure to take pics and post them on their site so u qualify for the other drawings! Parking can be hard to find but u can park in front of the other businesses or in the lot next to it!

Friendly staff, great instruction, and an all around great time! Make sure to bring your own wineglasses though if you don’t want to use a plastic cup. Would definitely recommend for a fun date night or a night out with the girls!

Booked a private party to celebrate my birthday. I thought this would be a very fun and different thing to do. It was a small party of eight, so we got a lot of time with the instructor. My friend messed up her painting pretty bad, but the instructor was kind enough to fix it for her. My painting may or may not have been a disaster, but I had so much! We got to pick our own colors, so that was nice that we could customize our painting. We had a few people arrive about 10 mins late, and the instructor was kind enough to wait. The location is quite hidden, and that’s why a few people arrived late, they got lost! However Texas U Can Paint emailed me directions, and they were spot on, and I didn’t get lost (I probably should’ve shared those directions with my friends!). I definitely want to go back so I can improve somewhat on my skills.

I thought this place was pretty cool! Came here on a groupon and decided to do the Starry Night painting. It was really nice at first, we had a good pace and our instructions were precise and clear. However, about halfway, our instructor seemed to be rushing and it was very hard to follow! So many people were behind and she knew that but she still kept going on this accelerated place. I understand that we were only allotted a certain number of hours for the class but perhaps we should’ve started on time and had less breaks or shorter breaks. I know that it was a fairly complicated painting so I feel that should’ve been taken into consideration.
However, despite the timing issues, everyone got to create their own masterpieces and it was nice walking out feeling like we can paint such a wonderful thing! I just wish timing was better next time.

My sister was in town and I bought several different Groupons to entertain her. This was one of them. We went for a sunset painting class because well, that’s what was offered the weekend she was here. (Although I’m considering going back for one of their Starry Night classes because that’s just pretty).
We had a lot of fun. The instructor was patient and went over each step of the way with us. There were two helpers wandering around helping when we got stuck or when our sunset just looked like a set of stripes (that may or may not have been MY sunset). Everyone was drinking and relaxed so even though your painting may not have turned out exactly like you want, it’s okay because you’re there with fun people and having wine or beer or whatever else you want to drink.
The facility was neat and tidy. Even if you got a back seat, they had a camera recording the instructor’s painting and that was shown on some monitors on each wall so you could still see what was happening. They seem to have a lot of classes listed — at least 2 or 3 every weekend — with a fairly wide variety of artwork to choose from.

The studio at Texas U Can Paint is a very nice facility and I am already looking forward to going again! We purchased the Living Social voucher which was $ 22 for a three-​hour class. We made reservations without any trouble and attended the hummingbirds class on a Friday evening. The instructors move at a good pace, and everyone’s painting turned out well!
The group on a Friday evening were all adults and is great whether you are with friends or with a significant other. For those considering bringing their boyfriend/​husband, they will be in good company because there are a fair amount of men too!
Also, don’t forget to bring your wine/​beer/​beverage of choice. Drinks and snacks were welcome.

I bought a groupon for this place and decided to check it out. I love painting. This location is hidden and you can easily miss your turn as it is in the back of the complex. The staff here were really friendly and welcoming. I was confused at first in why we didn’t get our paint but noticed you have to get it yourself which is different from the other painting places I’ve been too. Our instructor was very patient with us and helped you if you needed it (LIKE ME!). She was laid back and made the class laugh a few times with her jokes. She took her time in explaining the process instead of rushing it. I did not feel stressed out here like other painting locations I’ve been too. Came here with a few friend and we really enjoyed it. Can’t wait to paint more at this location!

I bought a groupon to this place with some friends as I like to think I’m Picasso and can paint art.
I LOVED IT! This is one of the better painting places I have been to, so if you are ever in the Southlake area or looking for something to do with a group, this is the place to be. The calendar of painting themes can be found online at
, you can book through the website as well. We were in a smaller group of 8, so the stress wasn’t as high. The employees here are extremely friendly, and they have a ton of patience. Thankful we were in a smaller setting because the instructor spent time with us and walked around a lot offering tips and plenty of jokes. She started off slowly with step by step process, explained painting techniques, and it was just a good experience. I have felt rushed in other painting studios and stressed, but I actually felt relaxed at Texas U Can Paint.
You can bring your own snacks, wine, and whatever palatte desires and snack while painting.
I will come back and paint something else!
This location was difficult to locate since it’s located in a small shopping center, it’s in the complex of a music academy. I totally missed my exit and got lost in Southlake. HAHA

Great place! The staff is lovely, very friendly with bubbly personalities. They have two large rooms for classes and private parties. Our instructor was very patient and understanding, full of jokes, laid back and tried to make everyone comfortable with the whole painting process. I didn’t feel rushed like I have at other similar places and they gave several breaks. The business offers groupons which is a great way to try this type of experience. A few friends and I went to class during the week which made for a smaller more intimate experience. Plenty of one on one time. This place is BYOB and snacks.
I couldn’t give the 5th star because for the location. It’s in a small shopping strip off the service road of 114 in Southlake. It’s very easy to pass especially when traveling at night and it’s a long way back around if you do end up passing it. I actually passed it tonight but thankfully I turned into the business next door and didn’t have to go all the way around.
All in all this was an excellent experience. I had a lot of fun and will definitely go back.

This is an ideal place to experiment with being creative without having expectations. I’m a horrible painter, but the classes are designed for folks like me who don’t have a clue about painting. Plus, it is BYOB so you can sip on some two buck chuck while u try your best.

My friends and I had a great time. The staff is very friendly and it is BYOB!!!
We went to a small class during the week so we were able to pick our own color scheme. The instructor was very helpful and paid special attention to each person.
