Heard it Through the Grapevine Audiology, PC is set up as an independent hearing health care provider. Our aim is to build a relationship with you and look after your hearing needs with the best possible services. We are not tied to one hearing aid company which allows us to offer the best selection of hearing aids and assistive devices available. We see pediatric through geriatric. The hearing assessment we conduct goes beyond just the ‘can you hear this tone’ so that we can determine the full range of issues caused by your hearing problem. We are here to look after your ears throughout the years.

Business Owner

Tara Wheeler, Au. D, FAAA graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign-​Urbana. Her doctorate in audiology was obtained at the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Wheeler did her externship at Cook Children’s Medical Center specializing in pediatric audiology.

After graduating she worked at the University of North Texas as adjunct faculty in the Speech & Hearing Center with a focus on educational audiology. Recently Dr. Wheeler joined the clinical adjunct faculty of the University of Texas at Dallas for the 2010 – 2011 academic year as a clinical supervisor for audiology doctoral candidates. Dr. Wheeler currently provides audiological services to Birdville Independent School District, Carroll Independent School District, Grapevine-​Colleyville Independent School District and Coppell Independent School District. Dr. Wheeler is certified by the American Board of Audiology as well as being licensed by the State of Texas.

A close friend was concerned about the quality of my hearing and recommended me to Heard it Through the Grapevine Audiology for a simple hearing test. The small, yet educated and qualified, staff and level of professionalism made me feel like a priority and not just another patient or even a «next.»
I would recommend HITTGA to not only my (older) friends and family, but to anyone who needs hearing care from an attentive and professional staff.

This office will give you a print out that shows the clinical results of the hearing test but will only provide verbal feedback for functional results but will not put it in writing. Many other options in the mid cities area that will give you a full report. We paid a 2nd fee to another audiologist that were an absolute pleasure to work with and provided a comprehensive report. We highly recommend you look for another provider and only choose Heard it if all others are closed and this is the only option.

Our primary care physician had us do a hearing test at Heard it Through the Grapevine Audiology. They charged us for the test, as well as an additional $ 50 fee for «a doctor visit». Our insurance company did not allow the $ 50 doctor visit fee. They did pay in full (except the copay) for the test. So, now we are responsible for the $ 50 fee. When Heard It calls to collect the $ 50 fee, the tell me that the additional cost is due to «our insurance put all the costs on our deductible». That isn’t accurate and it feels like that is the excuse Heard It has come up with to get an extra $ 50 out of me for a doctors visit that didn’t truly occur.

Dr. Wheeler and the staff were all friendly and professional. I was referred to their office since my son’s current doctor does not have an audiologist on staff. They were patient with my 15 month old and did a great job making him feel comfortable. I was pleased with how they treated my son and me.
