Barry K Lesnick, OD

Family has been going here for years. Barry is very thorough in his exams and if anomalies are found he refers you to a specialist. We had considered leaving a number of years ago due to a receptionist who was blatantly rude and ignorant. It was shocking he kept her as an employee. She is no longer employed there. So we decided to remain patients.

This is a review when I went to Lesnick Optical back in 2009. I chose Lesnick Optical because I wanted to get away from Lenscrafters and other optical corporations (even though I do like same-​day labs for my glasses). I was a bit leery of going here, don’t know anyone who’s gone here for care. But, I went anyway, as my husband’s vision insurance is taken here.
At the office, the exam and everything went fine, no problems. The staff was friendly. They had a nice selection of frames and I found frames I really liked. It was when I was called back to pick up my glasses that I had trouble. First, I have to say, I went with one of my sons (he’s in his 20s), so I had a witness… when I put my no-​line trifocals on, I COULDN’T SEE out of them! My vision was completely blurry! I couldn’t see mere inches in front of my face. Dr. Lesnick was called out to talk to me. He took my glasses and took them to measure the prescription. He came back to me at the front desk and said «There’s nothing wrong with these glasses, they are the same as the prescription I wrote for you». He went on to say that I «have to get used to wearing trifocals». I put the new glasses back on, but no matter how I looked through the different sections of the lenses (near distance, mid-​distance, and far distance) I STILL couldn’t see. When I reminded Dr. Lesnick that he had seen my previous pair of trifocals during my exam – trifocals that I had worn with NO problem for FOUR YEARS, he shrugged his shoulders and said «I don’t know what to tell you.» Then, amazingly, he walked me out of the clinic, to the sidewalk, as if to let me know I was not welcome there, wanted no further ‘trouble’ and they would not help me any further. There was no offer to refund all or even part of the $ 200+ dollars my husband paid out of his pocket. I drove home wearing my OLD trifocals, because that was the only way I could see. When I got home, I called Davis Vision Insurance to tell them about what happened, but they still paid the claim.
My recommendation is to avoid this clinic!
