Got take out here the other day which consisted of a hamburger a side salad, and a salad with grilled chicken and my bill was 45 dollars! The food wasn’t bad but definitely not worth 45 dollars.

Hey Brother! Lenny here with another review. I’m a fan of all things piney. I’m also a fan of all breakfast food… and let’s be honest here, Wawa Sizzilies taste like a cardboard sandwich. When I’m driving around buying and selling CBHAM radio parts. I’m always on the look out for great places to eat and Red Lion Diner is no exception. I’ll admit I went around the circle of Rte 70 and 206 about 5 times in my ’96 Bronco.(2 times because circles are confusing and 3 more because Golden Earring came on the radio and it was fun). Let me be honest. This place is the bomb. Shiela got the eggs and bacon and lemme tell ya, she’d eat that bacon all the way to a heart attack. ITWASTHATGOOD. I had me a western omelette and lemme tel ya, it tasted like home on the range. I’d gladly comeback. THISPLACEISGANGSTER. In fact, they have beer! I would have sampled some… but we have a rule of no drinking before the sun goes down. Would have been 5 stars, but there’s a sign outside that says I can’t take pictures with the Lion statue out front. Would have been great to get that picture developed and put on my mantle at home.

Excellent breakfast and great sandwiches. Monte cristo a standout. Service always good and desserts are quite good. This is ½ hour from my house and it’s worth the drive every few months.

Went there on a Friday at the end of October On the way to Barnegat for a late breakfast On the way back for a early dinner Both times, Seated right away, Nice waitress, good food(it’s a diner), reasonable prices Large desert display, we both got the Tiramisu, it was more like lard with sugar, The rest of all their desserts did look good though, you can not usually go wrong with chocolate cake. We’ll try something differtent next time. All and all, nice place to stop, Will definitely make it a regular stop on the way to any shore places using Rt. 70

Ok service but it’s pretty hard to screw up bacon and eggs and they did. Ordered eggs over medium and well done bacon and got eggs over easy and under cooked bacon. They did bring the bacon back and cook it a little more but it had a very odd taste. Appeared to be low quality bacon which is a little ridiculous for a busy diner considering how much bacon and eggs they must serve. A little pricey too. Won’t be back.

No this isn’t the nicest place on the planet. The food is good. I have never had bad service. The coffee is strong. I like mostly the breakfast items– like the chipped beef and toast, scrapple, pork roll and more of the questionable meat items! It’s clean inside and I enjoy my visits.

Very good food and good & friendly service. Our first visit. The stuffed flounder was excellent. Their clam chowder was delicious. Excellent location at the 70⁄206 circle.

Stay away! Stay away not just because of the food quality but also for the management. I witnessed the owner/manager literally yelling at one of her employees for getting a food order wrong. It was that incident that made me make up my mind about never returning to this place. I ordered a sandwhich that charged you $ 7 and it didnt even come with sides. It was a simple square bread piece of sanwhich that wasnt even that good. The string beans was over steamed. At least butter or pepper that thing. Overall, food and management is nasty.

When we asked the owner of the restaurant if they could upsale a dinner salad for a Caesar salad and up sale a cup of soup for a cup of chili, her response was«we don’t cave the capacity in the kitchen to do that». Then salads the size of a football comes out and she is looking at us and I ask her to come over to our table she rolled her eyes and I said«never mind, you rolled your eyes at me», she asked us to leave. «Gladly» I said. The food is mediocre it’s best. Its like cafeteria style food, bland for the price and the service sucks except for the 1 male server they have. Needless to say, after going here basically once a week for 3 years because we live so close, we won’t be back. At least I will never give them a dime of my money. Go to the Pandora Diner 5 miles up 206. Better food, better service, better management/owners. They sell you what you like/desire at Pandora. Huge menu at Pandora as well. Breakfast is BANGING and their dinner options are out of this world at Pandora. Red Lion Diner isn’t what it used to be. It’s as sorry as the Vincentown Diner.

Short and sweet: The food here is o.k., but if you’re going to charge $ 8 for a pork roll and cheese sandwich, it had ought to come with either french fries or more than three slices of the aforementioned pork roll. Preferably both.

Back again for a follow up visit. Much better this time, even though the waitress was a bit slow. If she was busy with customers I would understand, but I was her only customer. I ordered a new item on the menu, Shrimp Basilico. Sautéed shrimp over penne with fresh tomatoes in a delicious cream sauce. This came with a cup of old fashion chicken noodle soup, which was also very good. Food isn’t the problem at the Red Lion. They need to weed out the, not so good, waitresses and the manager need to take more active participation in the customers satisfaction.

Nightmare on Elm Street!(actually, Rt 206)…went to Livestock Auction in tabernacle beginning of June on Sat night… got to diner about 7:30…most of the seniors had already eaten and were in bed, i guess… place was crowded…2 of us ordered omelettes with toast and coffee… easy enough… well…the eggs never came… i mean they came eventually but not in the first ½ hour… first the waitress said another waitress just left so ours had to pick up her slack(how did that affect the cook???)…then someone took our toast… i think another excuse was Martians… bottom line was we got our eggs… toast came after the fact… butter came much later… waitress was apologetic… offered us slices of cheesecake to take home, which we did(not bad)…moral: wasn’t there for the free cake… wanted decent dinner served in reasonable time which we did not get.

Rode our motorcycle over to Red Lion Diner the other evening. Due to a severe storm we were without power and wanted to try a new place. This diner was a good choice. Seated promptly, server was friendly and attentive to our needs. My wife ordered the Cream Chipped Beef over toast. She said it was tasty and the white gravy very good. I had the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich, no roll. The cutlet was nice and thin(the way I like it), sauce good and very cheesy. We will definitely return.

The«hostess» might do well to be re-trained in what a hostess’ position actually is. Instead, her interpretation was for us to hurry up & follow her while she continued her conversation with another server. Then, in an, «I don’t care what your response is anyway» tone, asked us if her seat choice for us was ok. The waittress was alright at first. However, after the wrap I ordered fell apart when I tried to pick it up, I sent it back. I didn’t order it again, as I never trust my dish to be safe after sending it back, so I didn’t eat anything else. My mom had ordered an omelet, which was $ 9, and looked like yesterday’s microwaved leftovers. The coffee was luke warm at best, and tasted old. At the end of the service, of which I practically had to wave my arms in her face to get her attention, the waittress had the nerve to not address me about taking my wrap off of the check. Like I was supposed to pay for something I didn’t eat? Then, as we were literally getting up to leave, she felt that was the appropriate moment to ask me if there was anything she could get for me. The«hostess» at the register asked how the meal was, and when I replied, «not very good», she couldn’t have been more uninterested. The food choices on the menu are limited, compared to almost any other Jersey diner, and the prices are high. I’ve passed this diner a bunch of times before finally stopping to give it a try. I’ll continue to pass it from now on. There’s a Wa-Wa just up the road with better service.

Ate here for the first time Easter Sunday about 1140am… No wait for a seat… They were busy… Ordered and food was out nice and hot in about 10 mins… This place is probably one of the best diners I’ve been to in Burlington… We ordered cream chipped beef with eggs on top. Short stack. Spanish omelet with bacon and coffee… Food was good… Your great diner standard at least. Service was great we had an older lady and she was thorough and fast. I don’t know how anyone can say this place is overpriced out bill was cheaper then other places in the area. This place is a must for breakfast.

The food here is good and the diner itself is very easy to get to. Situated right on the rotary connecting Routes 70 and 206, the Red Lion Diner represents a true diner, serving a wide variety of different foods for individuals or groups looking for a quick meal. The only gripe I have is that the prices are a tad bit high, but other than that, I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in South Jersey.

I have been going to Red Lion Diner for about 20 years now, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything besides what it is; your basic diner. I can’t recall ever having a bad meal here, but I play to their strengths — short order stuff: burgers, fries, breakfast, etc. I would wager that some of their«finer» fare might not be quite up to snuff, but I think that’s a common complaint about all diners. Being on the 206⁄70 circle makes it a fairly common place for me to stop and grab something to eat. The reason I gave it only three stars is because of the management, and one particularly rude interaction I had with the owner. I didn’t get her name, but she is the short, dark haired, frumpy-looking woman usually perched behind the counter. Without getting into the specifics, there was a question regarding an order and she handled it very poorly, and almost alienated me(and my friend, and several other diners who were in earshot) from coming to the place ever again. Luckily, it ended up working out tolerably in the end, but just as a word of warning — make sure to ask the prices of extras and substitutions BEFORE you eat them, as the management has a way of seriously overcharging for these. Overall, its a not a bad diner at which to grab a quick bite — just keep it simple and everyone should walk out happy(and full).

I like how this diner faces the rotary. I really like this eggplant dish they have. It’s the breaded eggplant from eggplant parm served with cold, fresh tomatoes. Oreo cheesecake is good too. Not too much to say about this place, but I feel the need to recognize this place. It’s a totally normal, totally functional diner. You get exactly what you expect.
