Hello Everybody,

My name is Leon Nguyen and I am the President/​Owner of Famous Furnishings. First of all, I would like to welcome you to my business and thank you for taking out the time to get to know me. I’m a Vietnamese-​American residing in the South Bay and have been for over 30 years. I’m married to my beautiful wife, Karen and we have three wonderful children, Vance, Eve and Theodore. I have been in the home furnishing industry for over 15 years and have built and managed many furniture stores that you may have been to or bought from. My vision for Famous Furnishings is to provide you as our customer, a new and unique experience when shopping for home furnishings. Had a great experience with them purchasing a TV stand and a custom couch. However, when we wanted additional seat cushions for the couch, they asked us for the ones we needed to replace and then never returned them. We’ve been waiting several months for the cushions, but they won’t answer the phone or email and looks like we’ll never get them. As it is, we’ll need to buy a new couch. We’ll never shop here again.

This review is long overdue. We have purchased three pieces of furniture from Leon in the span of 2.5 years. A custom made couch, dining room set, and a coffee table. The coffee table has yet to be delivered but Leon as usual, was helpful in our purchase. Leon knows his furniture and can help you pick out the best for your living room. He is also friendly and decent with the discounts. The other individuals that work in the store and the delivery guys are not as friendly as Leon. Despite that, I will continue to come here for our future furniture needs.
In short — the place to go if you want well made, beautiful, and unique pieces!

I have to say that I have read some of the posts regarding Leon not returning phone calls. I was also ignored in the store and once I asked for help Brandon was very rude and seemed like he wasn’t interested in being there. He had an attitude, I was shopping for a couch and wanted more information about it, his answer was I don’t know, call Leon. I called to speak to Leon and always got the answering machine, it seems like no one is ever there to answer the phone. I came in person and spoke with Leon and he was very fake in my opinion. I will not buy anything from Famous Furnishings!

Leon is great. We went in just to look around and he respected that. He didn’t rush us like other sales people. He gave us space and was super helpful when we had questions. The prices are great and Leon even reminded us of the 10% discount when mentioning Unilocal.We left happy customers, and owners of a new bed and office chair, both are super comfortable and affordable. The delivery guy (I think his name was Brandon?) was super polite, professional and, funny. They even took away our old mattress and box spring (for a reasonable fee).
This place is great. Prices are awesome. People are chill. All around good experience.

I really wanted to give this place a high rating but based on my experience I simply cannot!
In early January my boyfriend and I stopped in after spotting this place on our way out of Costco. We were in need of a lot of furniture and this place was ranked highly on Unilocal.The outside of the building is rather unassuming but to our surprise, the warehouse was HUGE and had many types of furniture including custom pieces.
We were greeted by a friendly Leon and snacked on the complimentary candy as we strolled the merchandise. Leon gave us books to go through and we spent over an hour making sure we found the right pieces. Leon gave us a good discount since we paid for everything is cash.
Fast forward to April, we still had not received any of our furniture and NO update from Leon. When we called to see what was going on, he said that there were some strikes going on in the ships delivering our furniture and that once he had an update he would let us know. We never received any phone call.
Finally we received half of our furniture from the friendly delivery guys though they did not give us an accurate time of delivery.
We are still missing one chest of drawers but Leon PROMISED that this would be delivered soon. It is now May and we STILL have not received our chest of drawers nor have we received a response from Leon. We have called and stopped by the store and every time we speak with Leon he promises to give us an update but never follows through!
At this point we are going to try to get our money back. We are most upset that Leon has not lived up to his word and he has lost repeat customers because of it. I will NEVER shop here again and I suggest you stay away as well.

Leon and his staff are more than awesome. We came here expecting to look at couches and pick what we like.
When we first met Leon, instead of showing us furniture, he started asking questions. He listened to what we wanted and offered recommendations. We live in a condo complex, so went home to measure the door ways and ceilings to make sure our custom couch can fit during delivery.
On our second visit, we finally ordered our custom couch, and even got 10% off because we found him on Unilocal.The couch was delivered by his brothers and they were nice and efficient, they even took their shoes off when they came into our home. Everything was assembled and nicely placed.
We will definitely be coming back for any future furniture we will be upgrading. Thanks to Leon and his staff!

Although we were pleasantly surprised by the big selection of furniture and relatively good prices, we were ignored in the store for over half an hour, even though it wasn’t busy. Salesperson (not sure if he was the owner) finally came over and when we asked him a question about the sofa set we were interested in buying, he not only didn’t know the answer, but had a dismissive attitude and was rude.

Leon is like superman. He can do anything you need. But seriously, I’ve purchased a custom living room couch, custom sleeper sofa for our guest room, and a large custom seat cushion for our kitchen. At most other furniture stores, what you see is what you get. NOT AT FAMOUS FURNISHINGS. You want a 25″ high armrest? No problem. 22″ high armrest? No problem. Single cushion, double cushion, edge piping, high wooden feet? Whatever you want, just tell Leon and he can do it. Seriously. On our most recent purchase, he agreed to saw 2 inches off of custom wooden sofa legs so our seat height would be just perfect. Don’t like the fabric on the show room sofa? Just go through their huge pile of fabric samples and pick whatever you find! Find yourself hungry while browsing for a new accent piece? Leon’s got a huge pail of candy for you. Not joking.
Prices are reasonable and quality is good. Delivery is prompt and the delivery guys were very careful not to damage anything (including our walls around a very tight corner).
All in all, I’d be hard-​pressed to go to another furniture shop. If you’re looking for a good, honest, furniture store, go here now!

Huge showroom with tons of affordable, quality pieces. Leon (the owner) is awesome. He made me a deal on a coffee table and end table that was by far better than anyone else in town.
I also had a tricky delivery situation and couldn’t use his normal service, so he personally brought my stuff over in his truck! Above and beyond.

I hadn’t planned on going to Famous Furnishings but happened to be in the area and stopped in. The showroom doesn’t look like much from the outside but don’t let that stop you from checking it out!
There is a wide selection of furniture in various styles and patterns available at reasonable prices. Although we were only browsing, Leon (the owner) made us feel right at home. He was informative, not pushy at all and spent quality time with us to talk through how to plan out our new space.
Leon was extremely generous with his time to provide us multiple options for the space we were working against– a true professional and expert. Additionally, we learned that any of his pieces could all be customized at no additional charge.
Overall excellent service. I highly recommend to anyone looking for new pieces or seeking interior design advice!

We walked in to look at couches in showroom and really liked what we saw. We found out that any piece we looked at could be customized. By customized, I really do mean custom. You can «change anything!» We worked with Leon in design, and he even came to our home to make recommendations. After his expert consultation and great customer service, we had our couch even faster than expected. Also the couch was hand delivered by his friendly staff before Christmas time. We love our new sectional couch and it is exactly what we wanted.
Thank you very much to Leon and his staff. I highly recommend the home consult if you are in San Francisco. Leon will be able to figure out maximum size based on entry ways if needed. Our entry was no issue, but he did smartly recommend a slightly smaller length so we can fit the couch into any future home.

We’ve been looking for dining chairs for a long time till my friend mentioned this place. We went it once and met Leon. He has a huge furniture collection at different price range. He was very kind and helpful guiding us to find chairs that match our dining table. He wasn’t pushy or trying to sell us expensive chairs. He also offered us his Unilocal discount without us asking (we didn’t even know about it). We got really nice chairs at very reasonable price. He also delivered and assembled them in no time, despite the holidays busy times. We had a great experience, hope you do too.

Echoing all the other reviews, Leon’s customer service is top notch from the moment you walk into the store to delivery (…on Thanksgiving eve as promised!). He even went above and beyond to get my super heavy old dresser from my basement to my bedroom and made measurements of my windows so I can get blinds! =)
He can custom make any coach you want, give you ideas, recommendations on size, color, length and functionality and why we need to stay away from certain styles. Show him anything in a PB, RH catalog and he can custom make it for much less!

I’m in love with my new bed frame! Thank you Leon!
His customer service was great since we stepped into his store to the time he set up my bed.
I found his store on Unilocal and decided to stop by to take a look. I needed to upgrade from my TOP QUALITY IKEA bed. Leon’s store carries beautiful furniture pieces! None of that tacky stuff. I walked around the store and couldn’t seem to find anything that matched my current furniture color in my room (black wood). Leon came and suggested that we look through the catalogs and I eventually settled on a bed frame. There were so many to pick from! I walked out the store with a very good price for my bed.
Delivery and set up was fast, efficient, and on time.
I recommend checking out Leon’s store. You won’t be disappointed!

Famous Furnishings is the only place that my family and I buy furniture. My brothers homes, fathers home, and my home have all been decorated with furniture from here. the prices are unbeatable for the quality that you receive. It may be a little higher than the discount places, but I promise you the quality found at this furniture store is much higher than any others I have shopped at in the past. We have even had Leon custom make us furniture and it was BEAUTIFUL!
You can look around at the show room, pick something out of the catalogs, or have Leon make you a custom piece. I just recently purchased a dinning room set from the magazines and it arrived in great shape, didn’t take that long to receive, and looked exactly like it did in the catalog. Leon and a worker even carried it up my 3 flights of stairs, put it together, and hauled all the boxing material away. Take about customer service!
I couldn’t be happier with the price, quality and customer service we have received each and every time! I’ve been to plenty of furniture stores in the past (I’ve even shopped online), but now Famous Furnishing is the ONLY place I shop.

This was our last stop after browsing about 4 other furniture stores in the area. Everything we were finding was overpriced for the quality.
The Famous Furnishings showroom was clean and open, easy to see everything and not too crowded so we could sit and test out the furniture. We were assisted by Leon, Catherine, and Alvin. They were seriously so nice and helpful.
The salespeople/​managers were so friendly and took into account our budget. We ended up finding a table that fit our budget and was basically what we were looking for. Not to mention the quality was way better than some of dining sets (kitchenette) that we saw. They were nice enough to give us a deal (also Unilocal check-​in gives you 10% off) but we were able to take it home same day.
Will definitely be shopping here again when we need more furniture. No more eating dinner on the couch! Lol.

Great customer service by owner Leon. We were in the market for a new sectional but living in an apartment had some strict size requirements. After shopping around several furniture shops like Jennifer, Ikea, etc found this place via Unilocal.
Long story short we spoke to Leon and he gave us some ideas that we sat on for a week before returning to purchase a custom sectional. It looks like something straight out of Room and Board and we are pleased with results.

I would have given this a 5 but the shipment was delayed due to two different rolls of fabric being used. Leon lent us a couch to hold us over until the couch was done.
I will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.
