Bay Pointe Ballet is a professional ballet company serving the San Francisco Bay Area with first rate performances. Bay Pointe Ballet School, the official school of Bay Pointe Ballet, offers dance classes for all ages including dance classes for adults.
Bay Pointe Ballet, founded by internationally acclaimed choreographer and director Bruce Steivel, is a professional ballet company and ballet school serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The company, featuring 32 professional dancers, performs locally and tours regionally. Bay Pointe Ballet School, a professional dance education center, is located in South San Francisco, CA. Prior to Bay Pointe Ballet, Bruce Steivel served as Artistic Director at several major companies around the globe including Bern Stadt Theatre, Hong Kong Ballet, Universal Ballet of Korea, Nevada Ballet Theatre and Serbian National Ballet.
Our mission is to provide entertainment to the wider community through dance performances, and an ongoing program of outreach and education, with an emphasis on nurturing and fostering creative and artistic expression among children and professionals alike. Ballet classes for kids, and adult ballet classes, are held at our South San Francisco facility.

Meet the Manager
Bruce S.
Manager
Bruce Steivel is an internationally recognized choreographer and teacher. Previously, Mr. Steivel served as the Artistic Director of Bern Stadt Theatre in Switzerland, the Hong Kong Ballet, the Universal Ballet of Korea and Nevada Ballet Theatre, where he served as artistic director for over a decade.
Graduating from the North Carolina School of the Arts, Mr. Steivel continued his studies on full scholarship with the American School of Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and the Harkness House for Ballet Arts. He has trained and worked under some of dance’s most famous teachers and choreographers including George Balanchine, Jiri Kylian, Roland Petit, Anton Dolin, Ben Stevenson, Andre Eglevsky, Andexandra Danilova, David Howard and Heinz Spoerli.
As a dancer, Mr. Steivel danced every major role in the classical repertoire, including Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Albrecht in Giselle, Franz in Coppelia and the Prince in Nutcracker, to name a few.
