Another great Hogans location. Dolf and the team strived to maybe this customer happy. Quality work, fair prices, and competent staff.

Great customer service at first when walking in, however not so much after. Didn’t appreciate the fact how they would tell a customer «it’ll be about 10 mins and I’ll make sure your cars first». Was told I’ll need a new tire (just ONE for now) at 1037am and it’ll take about 10 mins, it is now 1126am. I’m sure it doesn’t take this long to change A TIRE. If I knew this in advance, I would’ve driven across the street and gone to Virginia auto and tires. I’ve had their service before and loved it. Overall, would I come back to this place? No.

I brought my Jeep in this evening because of a «low tire pressure» light that was on. Jeff, the assistant manager asked me to have a seat while they looked at it. While waiting, 2 other guys came in with the same issue. All of us hoping for the best, not to get the news that we need to buy new tires! The first guy was told, just a slow leak, and that it had been patched for under 40.00. The 2^nd guy, they just couldn’t find anything wrong with his tires. and he went home owing nothing, and was advised if the problem continued to bring the car back in. I thought for sure, I would be the one who needed to buy the new tire! Jeff said my car was ready, another slow leak and they patched it, under 40.00! It was so refreshing to trust the guy looking after your car :) I have definitely found my new «go to» in South Riding! Jeff was so friendly, knowledgeable and honest!

Got a flat near hear, drove it here to get a new tire. They got me in right away between their appointments and got me on my way. Had my odd sized tire in stock. Friendly staff, can’t really shop for the tires due to my tire being shredded, but the prices were okay.

I have used Hogan & Sons from time to time. This was honest mistake by their mechanic.
I came in for a flat tire, invoiced me the correct size tire but installed wrong size tire. After 2 weeks or so, my car was possessed by poltergeist. It started to act crazy in highway speed where it would force the car to go left and difficult to maintain control on highway. If you think I’m exaggerating, go ahead and install 1 wrong size tire and try it… very scary. I took it to NTB, for alignment and they did the inspection to tell me that Hogan’s messed it up. I brought the car in, and they fixed it w/​o problem. I was suppose to get ²¹⁵⁄₄₅ R17, NOT ²²⁵⁄₄₅ R17. Do yourself a favor, verify and confirm your purchase.

So I have been coming here for about 3 years. Lately my visits have involved a courtesy check with bills of 1400.
I had purchased new tires from hogan at reston and was told that replacements would include reduced prices based on the tread wear and tear.
I came in with a a flat tire today and was told that it was unpluggable (this is the second time I have had a flat and unpluggable).they said they have no record of my purchase and warranty. now since I have to change the tire in the front and the rear I was charged FULL price for both.
I would suggest try someone else instead. I have a real bad feeling about this place.

I will never use your service again. The quality of service has been going downhill for the last couple of years. I have been a customer since 2009 and I’m appalled of the poor customer service and the dishonesty. I brought my car in a couple of months ago for a brake and was promised it would be done in several hours, before 1pm. I didn’t get my car until after 5pm. No explanations, no apologies. Today I take my car in for an oil change and was told it would take awhile. I went to breakfast and came back an hour later and my car still hadn’t been touched. I figured maybe another hour. One of the guys behind the counter told me that I had 8 cars and appointments ahead of me. I asked the guy that checked me in why he couldn’t have said that up front and he said «I told you that it would be awhile.» «Awhile» is not the same as 8 cars and appointments. For the last couple of years, every time I take my car in, it’s the same greeting at the counter, «we’re swamped, so it’s going to take awhile.» As a customer, and a loyal one at that, I don’t like that greeting!!! I get it that some days are going to be busy, but EVERY TIME I hear the same excuse. Either hire more people or stop taking in every car that drives up. Poor service management!!! Poor customer service!!! Hogan and Sons — you just lost a customer. I won’t ever do business with you again.

I came here recently to get a state inspection. I was waiting for about 30 minutes after I gave the sales representative my keys. A customer comes in 10 minutes after me for a state inspection, I’ve already been waiting about 40 minutes and the customer that came after me got their inspection done first. This place has no organization what so ever. I am very disappointed I will never be coming here again.

Brought my car in at 1:30 for a Emissions test, oil change, and Tire rotation. The usual. Was instructed it would only be 1.5 hours. I said ok, i only live down the street ill walk home call me when its done. 3 hours later… I call and it still hasn’t even been brought back yet… I know it was a usual Saturday busy, but have the common courtesy to call me and let me know it will take longer. I had to cancel plans. No apology, when i called and asked why it was taking so long, i just got a… it hasn’t been done yet. Finally took my car away at 5:30.
Over all… the work was done… cant say it was exception because it was basic.
However I enjoy not wasting my time and will try another, more efficient shop next time.

Very satisfied. With a coupon, they give you $ 10 off alignment. Staff very helpful and even gave me a ride to work.

I went for a routine oil change because the hours allowed me to do so after work. I mentioned that aside from the oil change my brake pads may need to be replaced because I had heard a noise when I braked the last few days. After waiting a technician came out to provide me with an estimate. Aside from the oil change he recommended that I get my rear tires replaced. I said that I had recently been out of the country and while I was gone my mother was kind enough to take me car to our usual mechanic for its inspection. At the time of the inspection, my mechanic also replaced the two rear brakes– the exact brakes Hogan and sons recommended I replace a mere two months later.
It was very uncomfortable to explain this to them as I was saying in a roundabout way «I know for a fact you’re trying to sell me something I don’t need», but with a $ 550 price tag they should be ashamed. I’m not sure if was because I’m younger or a woman or if that’s just what they do to everyone, but I would recommend people look elsewhere when getting their car serviced. I usually go to a small, independently owned garage and from my experience they have been wonderful because they rely on customers trusting them and returning in the future. Perhaps building that trust with customer is not as important to a shop like Hogan and Sons and that is a shame. In my case they’ve lost a customer, didn’t get my to spend an extra $ 550 and the whole event bothered me enough that I felt the need to voice my concerns in a negative review.
If anyone from Hogan and Sons reads this I ask that you rethink the way you treat your customers. Is a few extra hundred dollars in your pocket worth losing customers?

Poor at best. Here is my experience with this shop. I own several companies and and truly understand what customer service is. I brought my car in yesterday for an inspection and Mike helped me. I asked for my tires to be rotated also and he gave me a price of 36 dollars. OK, I am fine with that but I thought to myself if they are removing the tires anyway to check my brakes what is the charge for? So I asked a simple question expecting to get a simple answer… How much does it cost for a tire rotation? This is the point where I was expecting a simple answer… I was not so lucky though. Mike looked at me and said very rudely «I’m sorry is that price to much for you? Why don’t you tell me what you want to pay, why don’t I just give it to you for free, would that make you happy?» I replied «I only wanted to know the cost of rotating the tires because you had to remove them anyway for the inspection… I just want to know what I’m paying for.» Again he came right back at me saying «What, is free not good enough for you either» This is the about the time I was starting to see red. I looked at him and said «I think I want to take my car some place else to get my work done can I have my keys back please.» he slid them across the counter at me and told me to «Have a nice day», again very rudely. So all of this happened with another employee behind the counter and three others in the waiting room listening to this as it unfolded.
I left and drove over to Main Street automotive right around the corner and they took care of me with absolutely no attitude problems.
Here is the kicker… So Mike in his infinite wisdom after realizing his ultimate screw up decided to call me to apologize for treating me so unprofessionally. He should have never called me to begin with… he should have treated me with respect and I would not have left.
With roughly 3 Auto shops in a stones throw of each other in South Riding you would think customer satisfaction and at the very least basic manners when talking to paying customers would be paramount… not with this guy!
I did reach out to the owners but did not get a call back yet.

These guys are incredibly reasonable! I got price quotes from the dealer, another competitor, and Hogan & Sons for tires, front brakes, and rear brakes. They came it at the best price for all three. They talked me through all aspects of the pricing and have so far replaced 3 tires on one visit and front brakes on another. I will definitely go back for the rear brakes. Dolph (Service Manager) is fantastic!

I have used the shop for regular maintenance and tires. I think they are a bit better on the tires as they wanted to charge me a pretty good number to fix and AC line that turned out not to be bad.
I was able to fix the AC line with no investment of parts and when I showed that to them, the took care of the recharge so I can’t be upset about that.
Deal with the once service writer who is the best. I think his name is Andrew. He seems to know his stuff and really goes out of his way to make sure the car is right.

I’ve always wondered if places price things correctly or not, and with Hogan and Sons– I never have to wonder– their prices are displayed for everyone to see.
I am one of those people who used to take their car to the dealer for everything– I only really trusted the dealer. My husbands car does not have a dealer close by, so we started bringing his car here to have work done. The work, price, customer service, and accuracy of the work needed done on his car has made me change my tune and have MY car serviced here as well.
Most recently, I had the shuttle service back to work while I waited on my car. The shuttle driver, JP W. was very friendly– and avoided what would have been a horrific car accident when a driver from the left hand lane swerved across three lanes of traffic into our lane. Most drivers for shuttle services arent the best drivers, but JP in his professionalism and his expert driving ability– avoided what would have been a horrible crash.
They have amazing coupons, amazing service, and are very friendly. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Been going to this Hogan & Sons ever since they opened. Very friendly employees, and always had [what appears to be] honest service.
Prices are reasonable — especially with the always-​available coupons (website, email, mailers, and from competitors). Surprisingly, I’ve rarely been upsold during tune-​ups. Most of the time, it’s something as simple as «would you like the premium wiper blades?».
They’ve always been good about providing warranties for their repairs, rotating tires, and giving free battery/​brake checks. Just make sure to call ahead for state inspections to see if their guy is available — it’s first come, first serve.
Besides free Wifi (if you want to stick around while morning game shows are on TV), there is a free local shuttle service. Or just walk across the street to wait-​it-​out at McDonalds.
Overall, I trust they’re going to keep my car running well without ripping me off.

The employees at Hogan and Sons are what set them apart. Mark, who only works on Sundays, went above and beyond to explain my problem and get me the service I needed. Since I can do most major repairs on my own but don’t always have the time, it’s very important to me that they made no attempt to swindle or lie to me like so many other mechanics have. The prices are a little higher but I found I could trust Mark and for me, that was worth the premium especially with the South Riding convenient location. I will be recommending them to friends and family.

I had a set of wheels installed and was rather happy with the results (purchased from an online tire rack of great renown and delivered here.) Service was reasonably quick. The folks I talked to were friendly and all. My only gripe would be that the techs might be overly conservative when tallying up automotive issues needing immediate repair, but that might not even be a concern if you have a low risk tolerance and higher speed-​rated tires.

BEWARE!!! In an effort to advise local residents, do not use this auto shop!!! They are unethical and just down right out liars. I was told that I would need $ 1800 dollars in break repairs. Ends up my gut told me to get a second opinion. Well, low and behold EVERYTHING they told me I needed was a lie! They even went as far as to to tell me that my car was a hazard, should not be driven and I risked causing a fire. I will be making a complaint to the BBB. It makes me sick to think that I have used them for several years and they have been ripping me off all along. Also, check out BBB’s website. They have had 17 complaints. I wish South Riding HOA had a way of protecting our residents from such unethical and fraudulent business practices!!! Wish I didn’t even have to choose one star– there should be a way of rating with just a warning.

The South Riding Hogan & Sons Goodyear is consistently accurate and helpful. Although sometimes I’ve found they’re booked well ahead of time, they are very helpful in scheduling a couple days out.
I’ve had several oil changes done here and one or two minor repairs and never had a problem. As usual, they’ll try to upsell you but that’s expected. Though I’ve always dropped my car off here, I do note that they have Wi-​Fi, water, and plenty of A/​c if you have to wait.
Robert is the guy I normally work with and is fast and friendly. My only gripe which is minor is only that it seems they have to print out 4 – 5 pages per job — seems like that’s a waste, but again that’s minor. If you’re in South Riding, between this place and Main Street Lube, you’ve got two good choices for work on your car. Both are great.
