Me and my friends drive all the way from Connecticut to eat at this place. Best Punjabi food in the area, hands down. Try the onion Naan, and butter chicken! You will not leave unhappy :)

The food here is soo soo good! It’s authentic dhaba style punjabi food that you won’t find anywhere else in Queens. If you’re looking for nice décor or good customer service, this isn’t the place for you. But the food speaks for itself. I’d highly recommend their malai kofta. The paneer dishes, punjabi saag, dal makhani/dal fry and vegetable jalfrezi is really good too.

*Warning*: VERY poor costumer service! Plus, when you order an entrée NORICE is included. AND there is no way to buy rice on the grub hub website. So you can’t order a full meal through Grubhub and there’s no way to know that. So you end up getting an entrée without rice. PLUS — they sent us half of our order and when we called to ask about this and the lack of rice they insisted for several minutes that they«don’t include rice» and at first refused to send us some unless we paid extra($ 4.00! an order). I had to explain to them 4x that there was no way to do it on the website and they should send us free rice out of principal with the rest of the order that they should have sent to begin with. They should have offered to send us free rice out of principal regardless of what they have«always done». A lady kept arguing with me and she tried hanging up on me but I wouldn’t let her so she eventually handed the phone to the manager. so I had to repeat all over again. I also tried explaining to them to fix the Grubhub website menu and /or that they should include rice in the cost of the dish, but they didn’t seem to want to discuss this with me and kept insisting that they have«always» made people«order separately». Then it took them MORETHANANHOUR to bring us the rest of the order! It’s too bad because the Vindaloo and Samosas were actually good — the only reason I didn’t give them 1 star. But because of their horrible customer service and business organization we won’t order from them again.

TL;DR: Get the buttered chicken. Not much décor. Went here a couple of times at a friend’s recommendation. There isn’t much in the way of décor; the tables and walls are pretty spartan, with the exception of some Indian paintings. There are two televisions on either side so people can watch and eat from where ever they are sitting. As you’ve probably guessed, it’s Bollywood movies at all hours. Food is awesome and that’s what matters. Naan is fluffy and delicious whether plain, buttered or garlic. Vegetable samosas are crispy and hearty, but a tad expensive since they are just samosas. Goat dish was okay; just a little thick on the curry in my opinion. The buttered chicken is OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. If there is just one dish you try here it had better be buttered chicken and a piece of naan. No questions. I didn’t try any of their desserts, but they had a nice display of sweets in the counter. The employees are really friendly and will cater to just about anything you want. Their English isn’t that great, so if you speak Hindi, that’d be better for communicating. Prices comes out to around $ 15 per person. Oh, and the meat was Halal. Not only did they tell me it was Halal, the server came back with an order slip from a local Halal butcher shop to prove it, which I thought was really considerate. Overall, thumbs up!

Damn this place makes good food. I’ve been here a few times and I’ve reached the verdict that this is the best indian food in nyc. If anyone thinks this food is bad they need to go eat some mayonnaise sanwiches. Fish, lamb, and chicken is to die for here. The lady that works there is very nice and courteous.

Worst service ever! Lots of attitude in the employees! Came in for a table of 8 people and the waitress didn’t come out to take our order for about 40 min!

Hands down the best Punjabi food you’ll get in NYC. It’s definitely something when you order the same dish every other week and every single time you get the same amazing taste as the last. Not like other restaurants where one day you might get amazing food and another you get okay or good food, this place has same great food every time you go there! What’s the best is it closes til 5 am! And reopens at 11am! I come here all the way from Woodside on a regular basis, it’s worth it!

Do not ever order home delivery from here! Not only did they not deliver for 1.5 hrs, the lady on the phone kept lying about the delivery. Finally we told them that order would stand cancelled if it did not reach in the promised«5 minutes.» We had to order Chinese after all that waiting. Worst experience ever! Never, ever, ordering from Sohna Punjab again.

THEWORSTINDIANFOOD I HAEVERHAD. I ordered Chicken Tikka masala, Palak Paneer and Naan for delivery. The food was disgusting and they missed a lot go food. I have illustrated my disastrous experience below in detail and I hope that would save your money from being flushed down on disgusting foods they serve. 1. The menu specifies that the entrees comes with rice. But I got no rice for my two entrees. So I literally paid for a food that I have not got. Ridiculous! 2. Palak Paneer is suppose to be made of purée spinach and cheese cubes but the one that I got doesn’t even have one cube of cheese. Instead it was a oily mess of spinach with huge lumps of Garlic and ginger. Yucks! It turned my stomach around and I lost my whole appetite after eating a spoon of it. 3. The salad came without any sauce. Gosh! I don’t know how they are still in business with this kind of food and service. One thing for sure, I am never gonna order from this shitty place again. GOODRIDDANCE!

I was craving authentic punjabi food and I must say I enjoyed majority of everything I ordered. My complaints are The palak paneer was very bland, and the kebab special was just way too spicy even though I love pepper! The samosa chaat was amazing, I highly recommend it. The waiter was friendly and came over multiple times to check if we liked all the dishes.

Mutton biriyani was supposed to be boneless. It wasn’t. Looked and tasted like they just tossed some rice into lamb curry. Not cool.

If you want to eat authentic Indian food this is the restaurant to be. It is a grade A restaurant now. Taste is similar to one with the previous management. Quantity, price and food is awesome. Need some investment on interior.

This place is awesome! I just wish it was a little closer to us. We ordered lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka, palak chana — all were good but the lamb was my favorite. Will definitely come back if we don’t find something closer that’s just as good.

Great flavor! good prices! I’ve been visiting this place for more than a year, flavors are the same through the time, very tasty Indian food. The restaurant is not very fancy but the food is great. I always pick up the food because the restaurant is too far from my home. This is my favorite Indian place on Queens after trying several.

My favorite spot in NYC to have North Indian food with great flavor and authenticity. They are open till 5am and we always get the delivery — be it at any time. Most favorite is– TANDOORICHICKEN. It’s just amaZing with green chutney they give with it. Other times on menu are also delicious– chicken tikka masala, dal makhni, samosa, and chat items. They are friendly and deliver at any time with no extra charge. Of I forgot to mention — Chicken Biryani is the best you can get in this city or may it be anywhere in US. Definetly a try!

This is some of the best Indian food in NYC or anywhere! It’s a drab, ugly restaurant, but you don’t come here for the ambience. You come here for mind-blowingly awesome food at 3AM(yes, that’s right, 3 in the morning!). Cheap as hell too. A MUST-TRY!

Craving some authentic North Indian Punjabi food, then this is the spot to be. I have come here several times in past 3 years. They definitely have preserved the quality and taste of food over the years. Though this does not offer an upsccale ambience but they serve some really delicious home cooked punjabi food. Everything is so fresh and staff is always über friendly and courteus. I personally like Bhuna Ghost(Lamb cooked on slow fire), yellow dal(Lentils) with freshly cooked naans. Make sure to ask for hot and spicy pudina(coriander chutney) and salad. The prices are very resonable and the food quality and taste is upto the mark.

Super-cheap punjabi food. We ordered the dal makhni and paneer makhni at the server’s suggestion, with rice, naan, and roti. Both dishes were full of flavor, but next time I’ll order it «spicy»… was a bit mild for my tastes. Very friendly server.
