Good food that might seem pricey to some but given the quantity involved it seems like more than a fair price. The owner is a smart guy that knows how to work hard and cook good food. People would be left quiet to name a similar halal or non halal place that could match it in its desi-chinese category.

Food with so much MSG that it will kill your taste buds for next 2 days. Most expensive Chinese food. Filthy place. 10% extra to dine in 50 cents /plate. 2.50 per water bottle Only Chinese place where you have to buy rice separate for 5 bucks along with all dishes about 10 bucks. no napkins worst attitude … why would you go?

The owner has a horrible attitude. Last time we were there we asked for extra sauce, he asked for extra money for that ! This time we ordered $ 100 of takeaway food and asked for 6 paper plates, he said he would charge $ 0.50 per plate. Never heading back to this place unless it’s the last place on earth. Needs total change of management with customer oriented attitude

The food is delicious, one of the best indo-chinese places in central jersey. The chicken lo mein is a must-try, and the Szechuan chicken fried rice are pretty good as well. The servings are plentiful as well. your order is ready very quickly as well. However, the service and the overall attitude of the business owner makes it difficult to justify coming back again and again even though the food is pretty good. If you couldn’t care less about that, I’d definitely recommend it. it can get a bit pricy, but 2 people can easily share one entrée.

Food was ok but the service was horrible. Order for takeout. They said will be ready in 20mins. When went to pick it up it was not even ready had to wait another 30mins before I was able to get my food. The excuse they gave me that we are busy. I know if you guys are busy at least have courtesy to give us right time for pick up. If you guys can’t respect time it not worth it to get food from you guys

Food is average tasting, but extremely expensive. The owner is super cheap and will charge you for forks, hot sauce packets etc. Will not be going back.

I wish it were possible to give this place half of a star, even then it’s not even worth half! I’ve been to this place many times in take out, and nothing was wrong with that(even though I did notice that he practically made me pay with cash every time, which was rather irritating.) However, my family and I went to sit and eat there today and I must say that the customer service in this place was outrageously terrible. The owner pushes to pay cash every time as I above mentioned(even though he accepts both,) and he is very stingy with EVERYTHING! Including napkins! And very unprofessional as well! I ordered a chilli chicken dish with noodles and vegetable machurian, and we were under the impression he was going to give us white rice with our meal, after all what are we going to eat the overly saucy food with, right? However, when we got our food we were surprised to find that rice only comes with the meal when you order take-out. When we asked if we could have it anyway,(because we were basically ordering takeout since we didn’t eat there much as well as because the atmosphere was not kind), he responded with, «Well, do you want it or not?» In a rude manner. Immediately, we decided to leave. His comment as we were walking out the door? «People think just because I own a restaurant that I have a million dollars!» I would not recommend this place to anyone!

A little pricey for take out indo-pak fusion chinese food, but is worth it. Very similar to Tangra Masala in Queens/Long island. Servings are plentiful, plan on having leftovers. Very spicy, so ask them to tone it down if you cannot handle spice well. Their lollipop chicken and hakka noodles are really good, probably my favorite here, but most everything on their fusion menu is cooked well, tastes good and boasts a mouthful of spice and flavor. They will get your order out pretty fast, upside to waiting is you can do your grocery shopping next door while you wait! Overall, this place provides a nice, tasty, flavorful surprise in NJ!

This place isn’t worth any stars. We go there and order hot and sour soup and chili chicken the owner prepares and brings both things out at the same time and to our surprise there is no rice with the chili chicken which is $ 9.99 a plate. So we asked for rice he said do u want white or vegetable rice I said veg rice he served us vegetable fried rice by the time the rice came And we finished eating the soup the chili chicken got cold. The chili chicken was so spicy that it required us to get four water bottles which was the owner sells for $ 2.50(mind you these are $ 1.00 polland spring water bottles) our bill came out to $ 37 for two soups($ 4 each), one chili chicken($ 9.99), one vegetable rice($ 9.99) which should have been included with the chili chicken that we ordered. We stopped here thinking it’ll be affordable since it looks like a run down chinese food shack. There was nothing five star let alone any star about the place for him to charge $ 2.50 for a dollar water bottle let alone charge separate for rice. That’s like ordering a hero and paying separate for the bread. How he’s still in business is beyond me. The owner doesn’t even allow you to wash your hands before or after eating let alone use the rest room if they have one. My mistake was that I didn’t read the reviews before going there. I hope this helps others. P.s I saw he had a lunch special and I asked the owner your charging so much why don’t u just charge me the lunch special he says its 3:11pm and that’s over at 3pm I said I came in and ordered at 2:35 than he says yes but u didn’t get the lunch special u got rice separate and chili chicken separate i said why does it matter as I see chili chicken on your lunch special for $ 7 he says that’s a very small serving which was when I realized that I’m dealing with a crooked business owner. Tactics being used by this person are the reasons I will not be a returning customer and would advise everyone else to Use cautions discuss pricing before going there if two people eat for $ 37 imagine what he’ll charge if you go with entire family or a group of Friends.

This place is a disaster. The owner will cheat you on the food that you are intending to purchase. I ordered chicken Manchurian but it was practically deep fried dough with bits of chicken pieces inside. Complained but just listened, no action taken. Stingy on the napkins as well. Seen the owner harassing customers for cash when they wanted to pay with CC, even though he accepts both. Never again!

Went there 5 times as my son attended the adjacent daycare. Everything is real greasy, deep fried and small. The owner wont let you go for a penny and keeps trying to get cash out of you instead of CC. I watch him handle cash and food EVERYTIME with bare hands. But when he sold me beef and claims it was lamb I had to post this. I have eaten every kind of beef and lamb in my 50 years of travel all over the world and know the difference.

The taste of the food is very good amd makes you want to back for more. But what stops me from being a regular customer is the high prices for chinese fusion.

This place is take out only. Ordered an egg plant dish that was great. The Hunan Chicken was good but could use more heat. The owner is very personal and will make recommendations if your not sure what Halal Chinese is

If you are really craving some fusion Indian Chinese food, this is the place to go get takeout from. I called in my order several times, and every time, they tell me it will be ready in 15 mins, and it always turns into 35 – 40 mins. I now go late anyway. Its advisable to not wait there, as your clothing will end up smelling like the food you are eating!!! The Chicken lollipop is quite good, and I specifically love the Mei-Fun.

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical when I first learned about a Halal Chinese restaurant near our new home. I have never had Halal food before, and admittedly don’t know much about it, but I’ve had my fair share of Kosher food in New York. I tend to find that religious dietary restrictions generally mean three things: higher quality ingredients, slightly higher cost, and challenges in recreating dishes from other cuisines. As a result, I looked at a Halal Chinese restaurant the same way that I would look at a Kosher Italian restaurant. I was certainly surprised with how good the food at Tasty Bites turned out to be. The menu is pretty large, but what jumped out at us immediately was the chicken lollipops. These were by far the best of the items that we ordered(definitely a five star appetizer). I could be wrong, but it seemed to me like Tasty Bites may have incorporated some traditionally more Indian spices into the sauce for these, which really helped to enhance the flavor. My fiancée and I both loved these.(FYI: Our dog, Bailey, managed to steal one out of my hand. He seemed to love it, too. I took it away from him, though, because I don’t know if dogs are supposed to eat chicken lollipops.) We also ordered the General Tso’s chicken. I would say that this dish was slightly above average(say 3.5 stars). We had read that the dish was overly bready, but that was not the case with our order. The chicken medallions were very meaty, and the sauce was pretty flavorful. We also had an order of plain lo mein. We both liked it, but it’s really hard to distinguish /differentiate with a plain lo mein. We like our lo mein plain, though. Sorry. I also liked that the restaurant had a fairly open kitchen. It’s really more of a take-out place than a dine-in place.(They have four or five tables that each sit four people.) I like the open kitchen even for take-out, though; because I’m a little bit paranoid about cleanliness. So it’s nice to know that the people cooking my food aren’t doing anything that they wouldn’t be comfortable with their customers seeing. I would definitely recommend Tasty Bites, and can guarantee that I will be ordering from them again.
