Fitness 19 is an average gym but it certainly isn’t anything to write home about. For all of the good aspects of this gym, there are at least two bad aspects and it’s those bad aspects that make someone wonder why exactly they chose this gym to go to the first place. First the good: Most or all of the exercise equipment may have, from weights to cardio, is either new or almost new and in very good working condition. The overall cleanliness of the gym is extremely good and for the most part you can see members of the staff either vacuuming or washing down the workout equipment with a disinfecting spray after people are finished using it. As you would expect with any gym there also lockers and a water fountain that has fairly cold water and a kids room in the back though I haven’t really seen anybody with kids. Now the bad: Whether you walk into the gym on a 5° day or a 95° day the one thing you will notice right off the bat is the gym’s lack of air conditioning. Now to me this is a huge problem because I’m someone who can overheat and dehydrate very quickly and if I’m running on the treadmill and it’s near 80° in the gym it would be very easy to dehydrated pass out. Also personal trainers or other classes such as yoga will cost you quite a bit more than the $ 15 to actually become a member the gym. The personal trainer will run you approximately $ 300 for 10 sessions where that same trainer could be included in your gym membership at other gyms. So for that $ 300 for a personal trainer what do you get? Well I can’t say I’ve ever actually shelled out $ 300 for a personal trainer but from what I’ve seen the personal trainer was on his cell phone and looking as bored as he possibly could have been and probably wanted to be anywhere but where he actually was. In conclusion, if you want to spend $ 15 a month and get a gym with decent equipment but no air-conditioning and boatloads of opportunities to waste money, this is probably the gym for you, but if you’re someone who’s a little bit tight for cash like most people are nowadays, this might not be the best investment for your money, although it may seem that way at first. I’ve read other reviews that say that it’s almost impossible to cancel your membership, but from personal experience I’ve never actually had a problem canceling my membership. I’ve always signed up for a year at a time and never renewed after that for either work or personal reasons, so if you fulfill the contractual commitment that you’ve agreed to, there doesn’t seem to be any reason why you can’t let your membership lapse and sign up again at a later date. Now, to stop rambling on and on I’ll get to the bottom line: for $ 15 a month I guess you can’t really expect more, but for just a couple more dollars there are certainly other gyms that you can go to and get quite a bit more for your money.

I joined them as I used to work next door but hardly ever used the facility. But I had a horrible experience trying to cancel my membership when I moved to a different state. I had to pay at least for 4 extra months before I was finally able to cancel my membership.
