Initial placement test are given for each area of study in which a student is enrolled. Students are placed in a level of study base on individual needs. Diagnostic Tests are given at the end of each study unit to determine strength and weaknesses. TOP educators focus specific areas of weakness unit the student has fully mastered each concept. TLC offers Reading & Writing, Math (including Competition Math), and Homework help in a private or a group tutor setting.

History

Established in 2004.

TLC («TOP Learning Center) had its first home in Temple City in 2004. It was started by a mother, who had three young children of her own, with love and passion for developing young minds. After three years, TLC shifted its focus on tutoring reading, writing, and math, offering small classes and individual tutoring programs. In 2011, TLC relocated to Arcadia where it provided refreshing changes to stale «after-school”-like programs in the area. Then in 2012, TLC opened its branch in South Pasadena one block from the middle school.

TLC scientifically evaluates each student’s ability with a diagnostic testing and, based on the results, it offers specific individually-​tailored programs to each student to maximize his/​her learning potential. In addition, TLC also offers «Enrichment» classes to succeed not just in their current grade level but also to prepare them for the upcoming year.

TLC encourages parental inputs as partners in the developing young minds and academic success.
