Tinzee Nail Salon

I do agree with some, a change in their attitude would do them well, by the way, they ARE in the customer service business. For a while they took credit cards but stopped that, I would assume didn’t want to pay the vendor percentage charge amongst other reasons. Also, if you have an appointment and they’re running late, she asks you to wait but doesn’t do any price adjustments as a courtesy for waiting (15 min or more), just explains its not her fault, the previous client was late. Friends have told me if she took credit cards, they’d go back. Too bad, they do a good job. With a few adjustments, they’d be on top. Seems like it’s all about CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Consistently the best nail salon around. I’ve tried others but Tinzee is the cleanest, quietest, least smelly and friendliest. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years and have never received a bad service. The paint job is always perfect, any wayward bits of polish are cleaned up before you leave, and you exit feeling like a million bucks. They are very thorough with their pedicures, which is a necessary evil. They don’t gripe, as some salons do, when I just go in for a clean up and buff and don’t get polish. They use new tools for every customer and take care to sanitize the furniture and are always sweeping the floors.
I very highly recommend Tinzee for locals and visitors alike. Treat yo’ self!

Not sure how they are in business still, I waited to write this, because I am not fond of writing bad reviews. I went there on a whim, and asked for callus remover, which is a lot more than I am used to paying ($ 5) on top of a pedicure. I like to add on services, but this pedicure was not good for a few reasons – one the price was a surprise at the end – they had decided to give me a package without my consent. Two the finished product aka my foot was not looking much better than I had entered into their establishment with – so ti was disappointing. Not planning on returning… ever.

The worst experience yet. I have been going to this salon since when they first opened up. As a veteran customer, you would think that management would side with the customer and expect excellent customer service from their employees. When I asked Anne if the tools were sanitized, she snapped at me and see, «Yes didn’t you see me get them out of the solution»?! It looked like she was rinsing them with water that was why I asked. I then asked her why she responded so abruptly and she continued, in front of all of the customers. I cancelled my services and brought this to the owners attention. She sided with Anne and never tried to retain me as a customer. I had been going there for over 20 years… Won’t step into that place again.

Went today and had a better experience but Tom cut my nails so short my nails are cut to the base where it meets the skin?!! My husband said my nails look like a man’s! Great. It is very uncomfortable and I cannot wait for my nails to grow some because it hurts. I am laughing I tried this place again. Serves me right. Lily did my pedicure and it was nice. There is just something off about this place. I think it’s the old woman who runs it. She should not interact with the customers!

I was in the neighborhood and decided to come here because I needed a mani pedi badly. I walked in here not knowing what to expect but the place was clean and the staff was friendly. They offered a lot of many different colors and also for the gel colors. Their massage chairs were great and very comfortable. I had Lily do my fingers and toes and she was very detailed and took her time to really clean and cut my messy nails and cuticles. She made my nails clean and presentable. For the legs and arms my favorite part was the scrub and the massage, it was awesome. I got the gel manicure, it’s been about a week now and still looks flawless. Seems like they get pretty busy on the weekends it would be smart to call and make an appointment.

It’s official. It has finally come to this: I am forced to downgrade my rating of Tinzee to 1 star.
I called this morning to make an appointment for me and my daughter for 6:30 pm after being told they close at 8 pm. The owner (older woman) who answered the phone quickly shut down my efforts to make my appointment with specific technicians: «No, Tracy not available. Only weekends. Tom and Jessica available. Come at 7.»
We spent $ 150 tonight (after tips). When I showed her my phone with the 20% off check-​in offer from Unilocal,she stared at it for a second, then said, «No more. That old. Yeah, that old.» No discussion, nothing. Just refused to honor it. It was 8:30pm at this point, and my daughter was drying her nails under one of the UV box lamps. We were the last ones there. She walked over to my 14-​year-​old daughter and stood right over her — as in inches away — and just stood there! She clearly wanted us out of there. Hey, it was you that told me to come at 7pm! She opens the box lamp before the light goes off and nudges my daughter to get up and leave.
Needless to say, WE WILL NOT BE BACK. EVER.
I will also be filing a formal complaint with Unilocal for false advertising.
Nail salon, it is not. Because that would connote a lovely place of relaxation. This was anything but.
This place has gone downhill over the years, and that’s really sad. The only ones holding up this place are Tracy and Anne. I wouldn’t be surprised if they walk away from this sinking ship soon.

I have been coming to this salon off and on for three years. Tinzee is a little in the pricey side. However, the atmosphere is superior to most nail salons in the area and the ladies consistently do a great job.
Tracy is a talented nail technician and I make sure to schedule my appointments with her. She is meticulous with the details of manicures (both gel and standard). If this review was based solely on Tracy’s services I would gladly award her five stars. You won’t find a better nail technician in town.
Alas, my review is based on my entire experience. My last few visits have been less the satisfactory due to the people skills of the receptionist but my latest visit was incredibly unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment for 5:00 two days prior. Apparently there was a delay and the receptionist called me. I promptly arrived at 5:00 and was told there was a delay and was asked if I could return at 5:30. No problem. I understand that things happen. At 5:30, I returned and waited an additional 15 minutes before deciding enough of my time has been lost and I began to wonder why I booked an appointment if it was not going to be honored.
The receptionist did a poor job scheduling clients and failed to convey any regret for the inconvenience. If a business doesn’t value their client’s time that’s just a poor business practice.

Definitely not coming back– ever. Incredibly expensive for REALLY MEDIOCRE service and quality. I can’t believe I paid $ 13 for callus remover (normally $ 5) and my feet look the same. My total came out to around $ 65 including tip for a BASIC mani/​pedi. The experience was incredibly second-​rate, standard service — nothing special. I seriously have no clue why they charge so much when they do nothing special nor different than any other salon. I regret going here and only went because it’s walking distance from my house.

Very poor service. I tried to give them a fair chance by going twice.
I took appointment and waited for more then 20 minutes for the first time and second time I could not take it as the wait was more then 25 minutes despite taking appointment way ahead of time.
I asked for spa manucure and medicure, work done was just ok. Not imprressed, pricy for a very medicore service
I will not go there any more as they donot respect the appointment time and provide a very low class service. Sorry !

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Both times I’ve attempted to get any kind of service — the encounter has been negative. Today I tried to get my eyebrows done and the lady seemed annoyed that I interrupted her personal phone call. Then– when she was able to break away from the call she asked that I come back later… they weren’t busy but they turned a customer away with rudeness and a bad experience! I will never recommend this place or attempt to give them a try ever!!!

I went to Tinzee since they opened. I was a very loyal client over the last 10+ years. The owner and her mother have never been friendly. They make you wait 30 – 60 minutes even when you call ahead and book an appointment. They are nice to everyone else there — except you. Why did i keep going back all these years?!? No clue — probably because they are clean and the parking is usually pretty easy.
Nail treatments are done well when you go to the «right» people. However, the girls can often be quite inappropriate and ask you questions like «are your boobs real?!» (WTF). That was really the final straw for me.
They are OVERpriced, super UNfriendly, make you wait too long, and the nail techs are INappropriate.
I waited a long time to write this review and I waited a long time to stop going there. Don’t fall into my same footsteps! Find a new place! One of the best nail ladies left there and is now at Pivoine in Old Towne Pasadena!

I tried Tinzee because I was in the neighborhood and had a precious hour to spare before getting my kids. It was recommended to me by a friend. Although the work itself was fine, I cannot give this establishment higher than two stars because I was charged $ 10 PER TOE to get nail art. Granted, I didn’t ask beforehand about their rates and already had splurged by getting callous treatment. Still, the cost of the pedicure was $ 37, not too shocking, but then the total bill was $ 57! Before tip! I asked to be certain the charge was for the nail art and was told it was. $ 20 to get a few flowers on each of my big toes!!! There was nothing exceptional about the job and I felt ripped off. I’ve never paid that much for nail art and I won’t again.

They did a pretty good job, and they use a very high quality shellac. I have 2 qualms, however. First: they have a very limited selection of gel colors (very, very — as in only 8 or so colors available. Second: the spa chairs are eventually uncomfortable. The seats look nice, but by the time my pedicure was done I had a very real awareness of the springs in the seat. Not ok. At a cost of $ 50 for a mani, they could definitely stand to have better seating. Other than that, they were very attentive, and the atmosphere was nice.

Meticulous care, clean and quiet so you can relax! They are not the cheapest nail salon but they are very good and cater to their frequent fliers! Ask for Lily, Tracy, Anna or Jessie!

This is the most uncomfortable stressed salon I have ever been to. No smiles, no talking and most of all they are down right rude.

I’ve passed by this salon millions of time since it’s right by my work and I’m always picking up lunch from Phoenix but I’ve never stopped in. figured it was just like all the other strip mall nail salons but I was so wrong. I had some time to kill this past Friday before I had to meet up with friends for dinner and my nails needed major tlc so I figured i’d give this place a try.
My manicurist was Annie and she was meticulous! I am very very picky about how my nails are done and because of that, I’d rather have them bare than to have someone do a half ass job on them. Annie really surprised me because she cut ALL my cuticles (mine grow like wildfire) without cutting me. I got a gel manicure and she got all the way to the top of my nails right next to the cuticle line which i know a lot of people dont because they’re afraid of it lifting it if touches the skin… yes, i kind of know a lot about gels. i’m picky. i was feeling a little adventurous so I wanted some type of nail art and she suggested that I got paw prints on two nails since she saw the pic of my dog and I on my phone and it came out soooooo cute!!! I was really happy with my nails when she was done.
I really appreciate the atmosphere in the salon. no one screams across the room at each other and its quiet. DEF a place i’d visit again and def going to ask for Annie again. It’s a bit pricier but I’d rather pay more for the quality of work than paying less for a nail job that i’d want to take off right after (which i’ve done). Also helps that the person answering the phone speaks the kind of English that you can understand.

I’ve been coming here on and off for about 2 years. It’s true that their service was immaculate. Every single girl worked on my nails to perfection. Then… They completely remodeled the salon about a year ago. Soon after they brought in a different set of girls.
Now, not everyone gives you that perfect mani pedi. :(

The place is clean and well maintained. The products they use are top notch. I like it that they do open the sanitized equipment in front of you. It is pricey and they do take their time. My mani and pedi last a long time and is well done. I have done gel here a few times and I always get complimented. Alice is a whiz when it comes to gel polish. The pedi comes with a foot scrub and massage. This is a perfect spot if your nails and feet needs some major TLC. Your hand and feet will look and feel amazing when you leave Tinzee’s.

I still keep coming back here for the perfect mani/​pedi. And that means even filing, cuticle nipping (or pushing if you are not the nip type) and smooth polish application. No scraggily nail edges, no uneven application of nail polish or bubbles that chip on the second day. Look at my pictures. It’s hard to make plain polish look good. Check out the application. Flawless.
This is quality. And you will pay for it. While it looks like a cheap nail shop on the outside, you will find the prices are higher than the chop-​shops. But don’t be afraid and don’t complain, it’s worth it. Prices are still the same as my previous 2008 review.
The best technicians (now that Rose is gone) are Lilly, Tracy and Anne. Tracy gives a great massage. Lily is quick but excellent, never skips a step. Anne is quiet but her tiny hands work wonders on the feet.
