The aesthetic here is contemporary Hollywood Regency with a dash of goth. It’s a great stop for gifts — candles and vases and letter openers and salt shakers galore. The assistance you get here is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes the staff is super helpful and kind. Other days they’re aloof and irritated that you’re there. I guess everyone has good days and bad days, but I’d rather buy my $ 48 candles from someone who isn’t scowling at me.

i glove this place. sometimes love isn’t enough that you have to add another letter to it to get your point across. this is where i go to play pretend & daydream of a future world of impeccable taste.

This place has been around for almost a year, located on beautiful Mission St. There is a mix of traditional, french, hollywood regency, modern… I go in here for inspiration. She refinishes a lot of the pieces in a lacquer base which I like however not sure if the prices are warranted, being that they are way overblown. Anyway, it’s a good place to check out.

On the inside, I’m like this 50-year-old, filthy rich, white lady. I own a leopard fur cape that my Latin lover brought me after fighting wilderbeasts in the Congo using his bare hands. And yes, I know how to work it in black, punk studded, patent Loubs with my 50’s Chanel couture dress. Because I’m just that baller, there’s no other place for home décor except House of Honey. Unfortunately, I’m a poor 20-something, $ 100k in the hole, post-grad. My love of interior décor porn led me to the Pasadena Showcase Society’s annual showcase house in La Canada Flintridge. I loved the vintage touch given to the English manor, but only one room stood out to me. Designed by Tamra Kaye-Honey, it was this amazing, whimsical and quirky room. Perfect little unexpected details all around. A bit of vintage, a bit of vintage-inspired, a bit modern, and a bit of contemporary fashion. I fell in love with this porcelain bust piece, and I followed it to House of Honey, Kaye-Honey’s bricks and mortar locale. Just amazing. Exactly what I expected from the decorator of my dreams. I would say a treasure trove of the best finds from the 20’s-70’s and beautiful pieces from some contemporary designers. Even if you’re like me, just lusting after what you would buy when you win the lottery, you have to come see how beautiful and fun this store is set up. Oh, the shop girl was also super friendly. She wasn’t pretentious at all when I came in to ask questions.
