The Home Depot

I went to the lumber and hardware departments. Easily found a helpful employee in both depts. Check out was smooth as well. It’s one of the locations I would go back to.

My experience with this particular Home Depot has been … Going in two months.
I initially came to this Home Depot to buy a fridge and other appliances. The others don’t matter as much since eventually I did receiver them fine. Eventually.
But … It’s going on a month and I still don’t have my fridge. Every time I call Home Depot I am on hold for no less than 20 minutes. And no. I’m not exaggerating. Not embellishing the truth.
The last time a range cord came. With the truck. Really a cord came with the truth. Alone. Without a fridge.
And the store … Had absolutely nothing to say to me. No explanation. Not trying to make it right. Nothing.
I can’t express how much I hate this Home Depot. Hate is a strong word. If they didn’t still have my fridge hostage I’d move on to Lowes. The Home Depot is terrible.
Terrible.

I came here with my husband to purchase a medicine cabinet. There was not one solidarity employee to help up bring down the box from the shelf.
My husband found one employee and asked him to help him and the guy looked at him and continued to play with his phone. Lucky it wasn’t me who spoke to him. I would’ve flung his phone.
Anyway, after 20 min we finally found a young man who brought a ladder with him and helped us.
I noticed that for this store chain, you must be a contractor to get some attention around here.
Not to compare but Lowe’s is geared more to DIY projects from non-​contractors and they have staff… friendly ones willing to help.

This location has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I went to the customer service for some assistance in getting some bathroom cabinets. The lady was very rude, talking to me as if i was 5 years old and don’t speak english. Crazy…
Never ever going to this location ever!

There is never anyone around to help, when there is someone around, they need to call someone else or they provide incorrect info to you. Of the 30 employees on the floor, there happens to be one fella in glasses in the plumbing section that has some knowledge and tends to be very helpful when I do need plumbing parts. The service is sooo lacking I always try and avoid a real human cashier, always self check out.

Here I go again another Home Depot that I’m reviewing you think I would have learned after all these years. I tried to get some information from the flooring department, I spoke to two different people and both individuals gave the same wrong information because they didn’t feel like looking up a product for me (they have a computer in the department). I called the Home Depot 800 number myself and I was finally given the correct information on the product I was looking for. All I can say is bad customer service.

Here is what you do in order to prepare for an outting to home depot. Take blood pressure medication and pray that it works. Not a single person in any department is standing where they belong. Every person will direct to the wrong aisle. Trying to find anything is similar to playing gold miner. Huge waste of time. I dont understand how this place is still open

I came here for a minor project of mine that required materials from many departments. Thankfully, Jay was very helpful and answered all my questions. He patiently helped me find what I needed and even cut the rope I needed (burned the rope).
I’m just a bit upset with their flower/​plant selection which is why they aren’t getting a 5 star review.

No one came to the key stand, so a lot of people crowded around waiting for someone. I had to find someone because there was no one around. One cashier: long line. Self checkout: long line.

This home depot sucks it is a mess and no one wants to help you. Nothing is in the right place.

This review is for one of the douchebags in the tool section.
I was looking for a specific oscillating tool attachment that my local HD didn’t have.
said this store had 50 of them in stock. 50. So i drove out here to get it.
When I get there, of course there are none of this item on the shelf. So I begrudgingly ask an employee to help find them. I don’t want to do this because I know what will happen next. The guy immediately says online inventory isn’t always right because managers (yes, managers) input that data manually (yes, manually) into the system each night. Um… what? (Maybe this is correct, but for a billion dollar company this sounds completely stupid.) Then he said sorry, they’re not in stock and walked away.
If online it said maybe only one or two were in stock, then I’m not going to have someone search for a needle in a haystack. But 50? C’mon, at least try to be helpful…
So I ask someone else for help because I refuse to go to another HD and deal with more but different morons and this new person found that inventory number exceedingly high (I completely agree). But he proceeded to do his job and search some overhead inventory to see what they had. After about 3 – 4 minutes he almost gave up, but I spotted another box that looked promising that was also overhead, out of customer reach. Without hesitation he looked into that box. After another minute when it was looking bleak I started to thank him and not waste any more of his time. He tried, right? But he asked me to hold on, seemingly now determined to find this item since he was already up on the tall ladder and looked through almost every box and this was likely the last, best shot. Within seconds, he found exactly what I needed, asked me how many I needed, and handed them to me without complaint nor attitude. Needless to say I was incredibly grateful to this man for taking the time to help me out and thanked him profusely.
Maybe it’s unfair to give the entire store a sub-​par review for one employee, but first impressions are everything, right?

Horrible horrible horrible

I needed to get a copy if a key made & it was so early this morning that the staff member who makes the keys wasn’t even here yet. The cashier saw me waiting & immediately called a manager over so they could help me. I appreciate the awesome customer service without me even having to ask someone for help! Everyone in this store including the couple who run the amazing food stand outside are so incredibly nice & helpful! I was in & out with the key & a tasty egg, ham & swiss croissant breakfast sandwich in about 7 minutes. Awesome.

Honestly not the best Home Depot around. Probably better off going to the one on Woodhaven. Usually quite a mess and hard to get assistance at times. But it is nice to have it nearby for emergencies

There is something wrong with the management of this Home Depot. Most Home Depot in NY and New England offer excellent to decent customer service, but most employees in this store are just plain lazy or rude. You ask anyone for help and they look at you as if you are bothering them. I hope upper management takes notice and retrain all of them.

Home Depot Store #1215 inhabits adjacent to two major hallmarks vital to Queens, specifically to South Ozone Park, NY: Aqueduct Racetrack (aka Big A) and Resorts World Casino NYC.
I must be the last standing Queens resident who has not shopped at this Home Depot #1215 albeit within a mere one mile accessible by walking for me, being a local to the hood. Home Depot’s associates are very visibly present and able to assist for my many inquires of gardening supply, floor cleaning, floor wax and floor polish. The layout is abject pain to my belief as my party of two were forced to find floor cleaning, floor wax and floor polish in the cleaning department not in the flooring realm. They do not carry a large section of floor wax, but oddly floor polish. Household items were readily available to my satisfaction. However, much to my party of two’s utter dismay this Home Depot #1215 has NO air ventilation as the air condition system does not function. It was abject pain to roam around an uncomfortable environment where shopping for home supplies, tools and all thing to improve one’s abode should be a pleasure, not a grinding chore in the oppressive heat!
I LOVE their return policy of 90 days! This location contains long haul hours of operation until 10 pm (except for Sunday closing at 8pm).

When i go there it’s usually hard to find someone to help you… But when you do they are pretty helpful. I don’t like the smell of wood… =_​+;; When you can’t find something as for help.

I needed reusable earplugs and a friend told me Home Depot should sell them because of the use of noisy machines like drills can cause hearing loss. So I went to this location which I have been in before since it is a few blocks from my physical therapy facility.
After searching high and low by myself I decided to ask for assistance from one of the many visible employees. I was directed to an aisle and was told where the earplugs were in proximity to the work gloves. I saw the work gloves and then I saw the disposable earplugs. I just about gave up when I saw the reusable ones a few inches down.
I selected the kind I thought best (I think they had 2 or 3 kinds). The package came with 3 pairs of earplugs and a storage case and was made by 3M. It costs the bargain price of 4.99.
Luckily, I saw self checkout terminals on the way in because I only had one small item to purchase. I went to a terminal and thankfully there were no issues with scanning or payment.

In response to the guy with the First review, this is NOT the FIRST Home Depot in Queens, there is one on Woodhaven off of Metropolitan Blvd, that has been there for years.
This location is truely horrible and poorly run.
One winter I was there with my mother to buy a shovel and an employee demanded I stay away from his shovels.
I went last week looking for wood varnish and asked an employee, I was directed to the TILES and obviously it was not found there, then had to ask 2 more employees before I was directed to the correct isle. (The PAINTING SECTION!) They employees here clearly do not care, and maybe it is not their fault, maybe Home Depot is an evil corporation, or maybe the employees are just that lazy. But either way I will agree that something needs to be done.
My sister and I signed up for a class with them and we showed up for the class, and there was no class after we waited for an hour there, because to spite people signing up, they never actually scheduled the class! This was 6 months ago… I am still waiting for the «rescheduled» class that I was promised…

Love shopping at the Home Depot. But the service is relatively poor at this branch, apart from a few great employees especially in the Kitchen & Bath and appliances areas. Overall, work is needed.
The parking is poor on the weekends as people who visit the Flea Market (next door) fill up the parking space.
The parking lot looks like a disgrace with debris and the return line is ridiculous where one have to sometimes make a line even in the cold waiting to return something.
You could never find someone with knowledge to help you as most of the workers there especially the older ones are unwilling and unfriendly.
Not to mention there are hustlers who try to make the most from you for delivery. They actually follow you into the store and solicit. They give Home Depot a bad rep.
Maybe some competition is needed for a wake up call. Being the first Home Depot in Queens they should provide better service and a more friendlier environment.
I hope the head office really investigates this branch as its poorly run.
I have a friend working here for over 10 years and their pay is terrible. These big companies really know how to rip their OWN off.
