Established in 2014.

The Owner of The Dancing Blender, originally opened a similar smoothie company in the heart of South Orange from 1996– 2004. After a brief corporate detour and life changes, the owner, a self taught chef, decided to follow his dream and established The Dancing Blender Smoothie Company in South Orange. The company offers Smoothes, juices, wraps, Chopped salads, acai all freshly prepared in a comfortable environment with free wifi.

Having owned a smoothie company years ago in south orange and worked in corporate America in different retail and operational settings, these experiences provides a point of reflection and understanding of the customer service culture and its implications on business.

A family Man, who understands and realize that without the support of his children over the years, his focus on attaining this dream would have been impossible. The children always come first and everything else follows.

Had an acai bowl in Hawaii and wanted to compare. The bowl was great ! Service was decent. The server forgot to give us our soy milk and honey. That’s why it got 3 stars. Hope my next visit will be better.

I was so glad that a store like this existed in our little downtown when my wife and I came across it. However our smoothies were pretty tasteless and errrr not cold. They need to double up on the fruit/ingredients and ice. Fingers crossed on this place.

Having a burst of apple, peach, ginger and soy will make you dream of relaxing under a Shady Tree. I was introduced to to The Dancing Blender by a great friend who said «Im going to change your life today». I walked in to The Dancing Blender and was greeted by a smile that only your favorite family member can give you. He said «Welcome my is Manny», it’s good to meet you. Needless to say The Dancing Blender feels like a home away from home relaxing under a Shady Tree. But don’t take my word for it just choose your favorite life item on the menu.

They could be friendlier. Staff is nice but it seems like they are ruled by an iron fist. I’ve been in four times and felt uncomfortable every time. The owner gets mad when you ask to «substitute» an ingredient. Apparently, that’s not allowed. So I had to list every ingredient and «make my own» smoothie. AND they don’t serve coffee.

Ok I’m from California where smoothies are made from whole fruit not fruit juice. But this location is well run, the staff is well trained, prices were reasonable and I wish them all the success in the world.

I’ve been a student at Seton Hall for a few years now, and am so disappointed today was my FIRST visit here !! I got the Acai bowl here and I have one word: AMAZING! It’s packed with fruits and granola and it definitely is very filling! I picked up strawberry banana smoothies for my co workers and they said they were great as well! Not sure of the gentleman’s name who helped me out, but he was very kind and made my order quickly! So happy to see they have fresh juice too… Definitely will be back!

Have been several times already. Sorry for the randomness of the review. Staff is always friendly. There is no wait service. The food has been good, and they have a variety of different meals and choices. The smoothies and the different juices are good as well. They have a variety and many different and somewhat unusual combinations of different fruits to make delicious smoothies and juices.

Good fresh food. Come during the 11 – 3 special, where u can get a soup and salad, or wrap and smoothie, or another combo for $ 8.99. Thats a great deal because a smoothie alone is between $ 5 – 6. The service is kind of slow but for fresh good food i can expect that. I will be returning.

So happy to have found this place. I had about 15 mins to grab something to eat and I was in Irvington. Great slim pickins. That was until I stumble upon this place. Just what I needed I got a turkey chili a water and a banana and was on my way. Great to find something quick and easy that’s not super unhealthy or completely fake.

Came here for the first time today for lunch and loved it. The atmosphere is really cute and relaxed they have board games to play which I thought was a nice touch. The lunch special is a really good deal– I had a smoothie and a full wrap for $ 9.00. The wrap was OK but I loved the smoothie– (it was a customized version of one of them) and had blueberries, banana, almond milk and spinach– it was awesome. I would definitely recommend that combo and would definitely come back to the Dancing Blender for a smoothie!

This is my new favorite lunch spot in town. The ambiance is relaxed and refreshing. The menu has plenty of options but it isn’t too overwhelming. My first time I had no idea what to order and the staff helped me narrow down my choices and even told me if I wasn’t satisfied they would make me anything else I wanted. I went with their recommendations and I ended up LOVING it. So far I’ve had the soccer mom juice and a new one they were featuring called inside out. Both of them were so refreshing and I can’t decide which one I like more. The hummus wrap was so tasty and filling. This place is great if you’re looking for a health conscious meal. The staff is super friendly and so far I have not been disappointed.

It’s been a rough past few weeks, including lots of travel and time in the car back and forth — so when I decided last night I did not want dinner to be another greasy hamburger or fast food, I knew I needed to Unilocal a place that was semi-decent, affordable, and healthy. And this was it.
But it exceeded our expectations. When you walk in, it’s like a tropical paradise and smells so fruity and delicious. We were greeted by a very friendly cashier and the very nice owner. We were given time to explore the menu and we decided on the stuffed croissant (can’t go wrong! Chopped grilled chicken and broccoli with honey Dijon — so good!), the tuna wrap (also delicious with balsamic vinaigrette, and I really am not a tuna person these days), and the afternoon delight smoothie (quite pricey but worth it with the bananas, straweberries, and kiwi which magically combine perfectly).
We scarfed down our meals, even got some local potato chips made from a nearby company, and enjoyed the scenery and inspirational quotes on the wall. They have games to play if you want and a changing table in the bathroom for those parents out there. We will definitely be back! We couldn’t tell them enough how great it was when we walked out the door.

Splendid. In the small town of South Orange, it sits half a mile from Seton Hall where it draws a hip college crowd amongst its regulars of all ages and backgrounds. Unless you require meat for each meal you’ll find plenty on their pescetarian/veggie menu to peak your intrigue. Then of course is their main attraction, the smoothies.
I ordered the roasted butternut squash soup along with a Power TM smoothie. The smoothie I found to have a great balance of flavor. The soup certainly hit the spot.
I reserve 5 stars for a «blew my mind» experience.

I wish The Dancing Blender existed before I graduated from Seton Hall, but luckily I still have friends in the area I visit often :)
The smoothies and juices here are made fresh in front of you, and you can sure taste that quality! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable, making sure to answer any questions you may have and to keep the place tidy as well. I also love how they have healthy to-go snacks! Can’t wait to try some food here.

Love this place! The owner and his wife are super nice and helpful. The food is surprisingly cheap for being primarily composed of fresh produce.
The menu has a lot of choices, but many are just variations of the same thing with just a few different ingredients. It might be nice if there was some more diversity.
Here are my thoughts on what I have tried:
Afternoon Delight Smoothie– well-blended, cold, nice mix of fruits, sweet and tart.
Black Bean Burger– Great homemade burger, honey dijon dressing is delicious, wish the bread was a bun instead of just sliced bread.
Hummina Hummina and Las Brisas Wraps– YUM!!! Nice textures with the crunchy veggies, the honey dijon is SO GOOD!
Salad– Love the create your own option. There are tons of toppings to choose from and everything was tasty and fresh.
Grilled Chicken Avocado Baguette– This was served on what I would call a sub sandwich roll, not a crispy baguette like I expected. The filling was delicious though: creamy, tangy, crunchy. Very tasty.
Wish the place was open through dinner time though instead of only until 5 or 6.
Still, I love having a place to get healthy, fresh food at an affordable price, especially when the owners are so nice.

I decided to try this place today and went with the lunch special of a wrap & a smoothie for $ 8.99. I ordered the Green Surprise smoothie and the California wrap. I added grilled chicken to the California wrap because a previous reviewer said they did not charge him for it, but I was charged an extra $ 2 – not a problem at all, as I was expecting this. The wrap is on the smaller side – so don’t expect a big, beefy wrap – but the flavors were awesome nonetheless! All the flavors worked well together, although I completely missed the guacamole, probably because the honey Dijon overpowered it. The smoothie was also fantastic – fresh tasting and delicious, though I would agree with the previous reviewers that it is a little pricey on it’s own.
Overall, I thought the place was pretty great and will definitely be back to try more things!
