I have been using MC Auto Tech for over 15 years. The shop is owned and managed by Conrad. He’s there day to day and is one of the most trust worthy person I’ve met. My family and friends also use him. His prices are very fair.
At times I’ve had both mechanical and body work needed. He managed everything for me. This helps so that I didn’t have to make two separate auto maintenance endeavors. Conrad has dropped off and picked up my car as part of his services.
With all the shady mechanics in Miami, you will be happy to find Conrad and my bet is he will be your life-​long mechanic as he has become for me.

I have been taking my cars to Conrad at MC Auto Tech for over 15 years. At least 5 of my coworkers also take their cars to him for repairs. Conrad is reliable, honest, and an excellent mechanic. He quotes you options on most jobs and doesn’t just try to sell you the most expensive. He helped me sell my old car to one of his other customers. I would recommend MC without hesitation. Also, a very convenient location if you take the Metrorail to work.

The owner (Conrad) is the most honest business person in this business! His shop also does a+++ work and I have yet to be let down. His prices are very fair as well.

Best auto shop around. And basically anywhere I’ve ever been. Took my car here to do routine services because I was moving to Connecticut. Conrad was great to work with and got my car ready for the long drive. He treats all his customers well and treats everyone like a friend. He was also willing to help me with some car troubles over the phone since I’m living in Connecticut now. Wishing I could just take my car back down to Miami for him to look at. Highly recommend his shop!!!

You know you are at the right mechanic shop, when almost all reviews listed here are stellar — 5 stellar that is! MC Auto Tech was recommended to me by a couple of friends and I am so grateful to find such an honest and courteous mechanic in this town! Heck anywhere.
Thankfully both of my visits have been routine, but he has checked the car over and has not once tried to pressure me (or any of my friends) into unnecessary work. Even though I live in Midtown and usually stay in my little bubble, I make the drive sown to South Miami for excellent service. Seriously Unilocal,everyone needs an honest and reliable mechanic in their life and I am here to tell you we’ve found him!

First of all, I must say that this business is as good as it gets!
The owner/​mechanic Conrad is an awesome, personable guy. He tells you what needs to be done on your car. You will not feel the pressure of being upsold stuff that you do not need. He operates on the principle of honesty! You seldom find that trait here in Miami. I feel good every time I leave his shop knowing that my car got the best care and I was not ripped off by some «Jelly Lube» or «Flamestone» in my area.

Conrad is the best! At lot can change over the years so I’m updating my review because I usually look at the most current reviews when I am checking a facility on Unilocal.About a week ago my ac started blowing hot air. It was hot! After a few days of bearing the heat, I took the car to Conrad. He diagnosed the problem for FREE (I feel bad because I know it took him some time to properly diagnose the problem) and then told me what I needed. I think Conrad felt sorry for me so he didn’t charge me for the diagnosis but he also knows that he will be doing the repair. Well, I don’t know what Conrad did but the ac is temporarily working so I am going to hold off on the repair until it starts blowing hot again. The whole point of my long story is that Conrad takes his time to properly diagnose the problem, he provides you with a fair estimate, and he is honest and trustworthy. Don’t hesitate to bring all your vehicles here for repair. Please read my previous reviews too! They all still apply.

I’ve had two experiences with MC Auto Tech since moving to Miami.
I had previously used a different local shop for service, but they ended up charging WAY too much for one service visit (I have no problem paying $ 40 – 100 for a standard «A» and «B» scheduled services from a private shop as opposed to «Jiffy-​Line» type setups, but this was over $ 140 for what amounted to a tire rotation, oil change and inspection).
Anyway, for my first visit to MC Auto, I took my 2007 Honda Odyssey in for a brake job. Conrad was personable and professional, and we got along great. When the brake job ended up including the rear brakes in addition to the front brakes (which was what the original phone quote was for), the job ended up costing exactly twice the quote, as would be expected. When I let him know I would be due for my 90,000 mile service, he grimaced, and informed me, in a «this may send you screaming to another shop» sort of voice that the job would include the timing belt and associated parts, which would push the entire service up to about $ 1200. I had already known about this, so it wasn’t a surprise. Anyway, I checked around and his price was competitive (parts were a bit higher than some non-​OEM parts, but they checked out based on quality and brand). I ended up going back to MCAT for the work. Unlike some reviewers, price is not the most important factor to me, service and trust are. So long as the price isn’t wildly out of reason, I will gladly pay a bit more to a mechanic I trust.
After both services, I started having issues with the master cylinder on the van (which is due to a recall issue). He recommended a dealership service center, since the recall would pay for that. When I voiced concern about the nearest dealership to me, he understood completely, having also heard some complaints about that center. He was able to recommend another dealership, about which he had heard no major complaints.
If I had to voice one concern (not a complaint, just something I noticed), the only thing I can think of is that they seem to charge «flat rate labor» based on expected service time, rather than charging labor in real time. I understand, however, this can go both ways, and is the best way to keep quotes accurate. It is also fairly standard in today’s world.
In summary, I would say that Conrad seems like a legitimately nice guy, and didn’t try to sell me on anything that wasn’t a real issue with the van. He was up front with and true to his estimates. He also wasn’t afraid to direct me to a dealership for something that would be covered by a recall.

I’m surprised I didn’t write a review before now, but I just had my car repaired by Conrad and his staff just last week. He is by far the best mechanic I’ve had over the years, and I recommend him to all my friends without reservation. MC Autotech does great work, Conrad (the owner) is an honest, decent man, who really cares about his customers. They also know their stuff. Even though the shop advertises specialties in foreign models, they were able to make timely repairs on my Dodge Intrepid, Ford Crown Victoria, and recently a Ford Windstar — better than the dealerships. It also helps that I live so close to his shop — but even if I were 20 miles away, this would still be my shop of choice.

My family has been going here for years after being referred by a family friend — who herself has been going for decades! We’ve never had any problems with Conrad or his work which he absolutely guarantees. In addition to being a genuinely pleasant person, he has an excellent work ethic and I trust him to tell me exactly what’s going on with my car. That in and of itself is a valuable trait to find in a mechanic.
I’ve dropped off my own car with him several times this past year for things from a simple oil change and tire rotation to completely fried electric cables and he’s been nothing but efficient and flexible with my needs and requests. He’s also upfront about pricing: his hourly labor rate is posted in the office and he will provide you with an estimate if asked. He’s willing to explain the nature of any costs involved if you have questions about them. He truly cares about having satisfied customers.
Basically, if your car needs work, I could not recommend him more highly.

The most important thing to do whenever you’re looking for a mechanic is to do research. Many of us are too caught up in texts and emails that we forget to make phone calls. And really, a couple of phone calls is all you need to find the best price.
I recently made some inquiries on the cost of a timing belt change for my car. I had quotes from California, New Jersey, and several auto mechanics in Miami. A full timing belt repair doesn’t just mean your timing belt is going to get replaced. There’s a water pump, drive belts, tensioners, etc., that you’ll have to contend with as well.
I had an inkling of doing the repair myself, but the retail cost of dealer parts and the amount of labor involved on my part just didn’t make it a wise choice. So here’s a break down of quotes I received from auto shops across the country:
Temecula, CA
Agape Auto — $ 729
Temecula Honda (dealer) — $ 880
New Jersey
Private Mechanic — $ 375 (parts only) + $ 100 labor (flat rate-​family deal)
Miami, FL
All Import Tech — $ 740
Braman Honda (dealer) — $ 900
MC Auto Tech — $ 850
Living in different parts of the country has afforded me the opportunity to conduct a lot of research. I’m a little cautious when prices are too low or too high. $ 850 seems to be the mean for this repair.
The New Jersey price was quoted to me by my cousin. He’s a certified mechanic and I’ll probably end up having him do the job. The only problem is that he’s a Lexus/​BMW mechanic so it’ll take him a whille to familiarize himself with the engine layout of my car and I won’t be receiving a price break on any of the parts.
I was surprised by prices in Miami in that they weren’t more consistent. I expected the dealer to have the highest price, but that’s because the dealer is using genuine Honda parts. What surprised me is that MC Auto Tech’s price was so close since they weren’t using genuine Honda parts but OEM parts instead.
Service is great and all but cost is more important. The most important aspect of a timing belt change is making sure that the gears are top dead center. Switching out the belts, seals, and pump takes about an hour or two.
I enjoy conducting comprehensive searches, so acquiring as many facts and figures as possible is something I like to do. I hope that this «review» inspires you to do a little legwork before deciding on a mechanic. There are honest mechanics out there, but how honest is a mechanic if he’s charging nearly as much as the dealer but isn’t using dealer parts?

I went to MC Auto Tech based on some reviews that I read online, and come to find out, the reviews did not lie. I was a little aprehensive researching and taking my car to some unknown mechanic, especially since I am a recent NY transplant in Miami.
Not only did Conrad provide excellent service, he remembered my name when I walked in, just from one phone call to inquire about his shop. I dropped by car off at 8:00am and had a phone call at 11:00am that my car’s AC was up and running (not to mention cold again!)
I apprecaited his honesty and very fair pricing! I will definitely be taking my car to Conrad for any service in the future. I would highly reccommend his shop!

I have been going to Conrad since my I had my first car. He is by far the most honest mechanics I know and his prices are fair. He will never use scare tactics to try to push you into any repair. He tells you what’s wrong and you decide what you want to do. He is upfront and genuine. If you are a woman and alone, you will not feel uncomfortable here either. No one is creepy or weird. I have found that in other mechanic shops I’ve been to. Very important for us girls to feel comfortable and safe.

Excellent customer service. I was recommended to go here by a friend and am very glad I did. Conrad is very nice and is honest about his prices and what needs to be repaired. I waited in their office for my tire to be serviced, it is clean and I felt comfortable as a woman alone. I will continue doing business here and pass on this auto shop to others. I can’t believe it is not already on Unilocal!
