History
Established in 1991.
What started as a small operation, has since grown to a large, highly respected and sought after company in the Southeastern Michigan area.
In addition to the catering division, Gourmet Express added full service event planning in 2001. With our main offices located in South Lyon, we also hold offices in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
While about 2⁄3 of out current business is in the off premise catering platform, we also own the prestigious contract to the city operated venues for the City of Farmington Hills.
We specialize in superb customer relations, excellent food quality, and a promise to exceed the expectations of every client.

Danny and Laurie K.
Business Owner
Owner and Head Chef, Danny Kort, studied under reknowned Chef Tom MacKinnon for many years prior to branching out on his own in 1991. A talented Chef, his specialty is French and American cuisine. He has catered many high profile events, including several mayoral and gubernatorial inaugurations.
Laurie Kort has experience in the back of the house, and added the full service event planning division in 2001. Laurie’s talents lie in her attention to detail and a wonderful ability to connect with each client to help them create the event of their dreams.
The Korts’ love for special events and their clients, is proven with the many lasting friendships and incredible events and reviews that have resulted.
