Witt’s Cakes

On January 1, my daughter told me she was planning an small elopement style wedding in Lake Tahoe which was planned for January 23^rd. I had no idea if this would be enough time to get a decent cake ordered and turned to Unilocal.After reading Witt’s Cakes great reviews, I immediately contacted Michele. I had a reply from her within the hour, and with 2 hours my cake order was underway. Every correspondence between the first contact and the wedding day left me completely worry-​free. I don’t believe you will find another baker in Tahoe who give you such personal attention and care. From the start, Michele worked with us to insure the cake she delivered was the cake we envisioned. I had many back and forth emails over flavor and design, and NEVER did she make me feel as if i was pestering her. Michele arrived at the Black Bear Inn just as scheduled and did all the last minute decorations with some specific flowers we wanted to use. While we were a very small group, we still wanted the look of a tiered wedding cake. The cake was almost too beautiful to cut, but as gorgeous as it was on the outside, it was just as delicious on the inside. We choose carrot cake with cream cheese filling for the bottom layer, and vanilla bean with mocha filling for the top. I have been to many weddings in Tahoe over the years, and have never had such yummy cake. I can’t believe her personal service, baking skill, beautiful cake construction, or price can be beat by anyone in the area. Knowing we were from out of town, she thoughtfully left us with cake boxes to transport the leftover cake home. As another reviewer stated, you feel as if you are her only client. A kind, thoughtful lovely person to to do business with… you will look back on it as one of your very best wedding decisions!!! Aside from the beautiful bride, the cake was definitely the wedding centerpiece!!! Not enough words to express our thanks and satisfaction!

We just wanted a simple cake for our wedding because we served crème brûlée for our guests to eat. But for cake cutting purposes and photos we hired Witt’s cake and so glad we did! Michele from the first contact was always responsive and friendly! She was extra helpful in what to chose from and I was always put to ease after our contacts. I never met her but when I saw the cake on the cake table it was exactly what we wanted! And not to mention soooooo delicious! The cake was extra moist, and even after freezing a piece for a week it was still so good! We took most of it home because our guests had dessert and our families devoured the cake and everyone said how yummy it was! The buttercream frosting was not too sweet which we love, and the German chocolate filling was seriously the best I’ve had! If you’re getting married in South Lake Tahoe, Witt’s cake is the way to go whether you want a simple cake or an extravagant one!

We did our conversations via email and phone calls and she was able to make the cake that we were hoping for. Our wedding colors were gold and emerald green. We ordered an almond cake with hazelnut crème and it was delicious! Michele was great about incorporating our colors along with the little design request (T in the front) that we asked for.

Michelle did an amazing job on our wedding cake Aug 2^nd. I communicated with her through email as we were planning our wedding from Minnesota. She answered any questions i had and gave her opinions which helped immensely as we had no idea what we were looking for initially. The flavors came out amazing thanks to her suggestins since we couldnt do a tasting. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a beautiful cake. Do not worry if your planning an out of state wedding as she knows what she is doing and had no problem with ours! THANKS FOR MAKING OUR DAY AMAZING!

I was planning my Lake Tahoe wedding from the East coast so I didn’t actually get to work with the owner; however, my mom was able to meet with her and share ideas of what I wanted and the cake turned out PERFECTLY. It was such a beautiful cake and was just what i pictured. Not only was it a beautiful cake…, but it tasted AMAZING. We had 2 different flavors., a yellow marbled cake with strawberries and a mocha marbled cake. We ended up having a whole tier left that we brought back to our after party suite and everyone kept eating it the whole night! People even took to go pieces back to their room after, it was that good. So moist and delicious. My wedding was 4÷19÷14 at Edgewood, they brought the cake and set everything up. I never had to deal with any issues, and everything went so smoothly!
I would definitely recommend Witt’s cakes for your Tahoe wedding… it was SO delicious!

As like some of the other Unilocalers, I also planned my wedding out of town. I did a ton of research and after reaching out to Michele. I knew she was the right person for the job. Not only did she come in below everyone else’s price she was so fast and efficient at responding to my emails. Michele literally made me feel like I was her only customer being so quick, kind and responsive through emailing. Not to mention she had a 5 star review and now I know why!
Now for the cake… it was AMAZING! My wedding guests were raving about it and I couldn’t stop eating it (so much for the Bride diet)! We ended up picking the buttercream flavors and wow The flavor was incredible! She did paisley hand piping on my cake which was perfectly detailed and beautiful. Thanks Michele, you are a master at your craft!

I was planning my wedding from out of town and read reviews from everywhere when looking for our wedding cake place. Witt’s Cakes definitely did not disappoint. We chatted through email and she made sure everything was still all set about a month out from our wedding day.
I sent photos of designs that I liked and she executed it so perfectly. I wanted a rough looking white cake with buttercream frosting. We had vanilla cake with strawberry layers. Absolutely delicious. (there is a picture in the photo section)
We also ordered cupcakes that were a big hit with our guests. We had a few gluten-​free guests so we had some cupcakes for them that I hear were really good. I didn’t get a chance to try as they were all gone!
I definitely recommend you getting your wedding cake or party cakes from Witt’s Cakes. She is the nicest and easiest to work with, especially from afar!
We will be going back to her for our anniversary trip cakes in the future! :-)

Michelle just did the cupcakes for our wedding and they were amazing! I had one guest who admitted to having at least 11 of them! They were all different flavors and all had pink frosting with a grey fondant shark fin because I love sharks. They were such a hit and were so good. We have nothing but good things to say. We have about two dozen left over at the end and I brought them home and they were still great for a week! Thank you and definitely check her out!

Michele is awesome! I had her do our wedding cake for our wedding on 9÷6÷13−− and it was absolutely amazing! It was a two layer white fondant cake with roses from Enchanted Florist with the top layer consisting of strawberry shortcake, and the bottom layer with a chocolate indulgence. Both cakes were delicious, moist, and SO GOOD! There was awesome presentation and it was absolutely delicious. There was some a lack of communication with the venue (not her fault – venue coordinator not present) and she found ways to work around it and make sure we got our cake on time without even worrying me with the details. We are from the bay area and communicated mainly via e-​mail for our Zephyr Cove wedding and she made it as easy as could be. My guests loved the cake and asked for seconds! I plan on ordering another smaller version from her for our one year anniversary since we didn’t end up saving the top layer– it was too good to save! We had to have it that weekend! Thank you Michele for making our cake planning so easy! I’d recommend her work any day!

I was in charge of handling the cake for my mom’s small and very intimate Wedding. We are from the Bay area but the location of the wedding was in South Lake Tahoe. Michele was AWESOME to work with, especially since all the planning and arranging had to happen over email. She threw out many similar decoration ideas based off the ones I gave. She is very fair priced and the provided an added elegance to my mom’s special day. Besides being a beautiful piece of art, the cake was Delicious! Super moist! (I had the red velvet and her homemade berry jam with fresh berries). I would highly recommend Michele and the pieces of art she produces!

I am truly amazed by Michelles talent. She is the baking queen, that made a delicious and beautiful cake for my friend’s wedding. A true perfectionist.
The chocolate and red velvet cake was to die for. The cupcakes were just as delicious.

WOW! I had a babyshower to attend and Michele made the best baby boy sports themed cake ever! Not only did it look amazing but it tasted soooo good too! She had it all ready the day of the shower for pick up, so efficient and yummy! I will definitely be calling her again for any event that I need a delicious cake that looks like a peice of art!

Michele cakes are whimsical and delicious. Her attention to detail and customer tentativeness is spot on !!!
I go to her for all our tasty treats from almond bark to cookies, cupcakes and to what ever we need.
She also makes one on the «BEST» cheese cakes «I» have ever had. I would recommend Michele to everyone I know. You won’t be disappointed :)
