Truckee Overhead Door

We had a garage door installed and Truckee Overhead measured for the job. I like to keep my business local, so in spite of a neutral review from a contractor, I decided to use them anyway. There was no real schedule for installation. We arrive and find the door installed and it is too big and the windows don’t line up with the space. Also, there are rivets showing one the sides and no rubber on the sides. I call and speak to the woman at the shop and she tries to tell me that they never install the rubber sides unless requested by the homeowner and that my husband approved this. Well, I knew that he didn’t. He confirmed that they never spoke about it. She then goes out and takes photos of our garage (seen by our neighbor), and never calls me back. After I dog them with calls and emails, the owner went out and said the door was 4″ too big and ordered another panel to modify it. They also put in the rubber over the rivets. I like the door, but I didn’t like the service. Really — this was so obviously not the right size — why try to blame my husband and why do I have to threaten to not pay to get a return call? I am saddened to say that this seems to be the service norm in the Tahoe basin. We have come to expect problems. A contractor recommended another company out of Placerville. My recommendation is to go with those who know…

We believed that there was a issue with the garage doors however after additional investigation it was determined it was not the door. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding.
They did step up to plate on the issues and helping to resolve them.

My contractor got my garage door from Truckee Overhead Door for my newly constructed garage. It is beautiful. Pre-​coated paint color perfectly matches my cabin. It works great!
Then I was not able to program my «Homelink» button on my car rearview mirror to be a door opener — so I finally called Truckee Overhead Door, and Nancy told me she would order me a part that was needed.
Nancy kept in contact with me as we waited for the part to arrive — she had many on order for customers.
As soon as the part arrived, she called me to schedule — and to send a technician out to install the part AND program the Homelink AND to program a remote. Insisted on no charge!
These people are hardworking, friendly, competent and trustworthy.
I would recommend Truckee Overhead Door to any friend/​neighbor.

My elderly mother and I were in a bind today with our car trapped due to frozen and malfunctioning garage door in –12 degree weather & no other way to get to some crucial medical appts. Kristian in the office told me that she would do her best to get me help today. Ryan, the repairman, couldn’t have been more accommodating. Despite the freezing temps, he had a professional and sunny attitude. He serviced both doors and provided helpful advice to help avoid a repeat of this problem. I will be using Truckee Overhead Door for routine service and will recommend them to everyone that I know in the area.

I’ve known about Truckee overhead door for a number of years. I lived in Tahoe and then had to move so when I needed new doors for my house up there I knew who to call! They worked beautifully with me over the phone to determine what kind of doors I needed and coordinated the install with my tenants. It was so hassle free! And the doors look great.

Truckee Overhead Door had done some work at my home years ago, so I thought of them when I had accidentally «un-​set» my car button for my garage door opener (AND had lost my hand-​held opener). I have never had such gracious help. My problem was quickly resolved for me with a smile, even with the phone ringing and another customer waiting. Nothing but kind words from me for both the company and especially for Adrian.

So our garage door wasn’t working right and apparently the people that installed it in the first place went out of business or relocated. Whatever. So I was talking to a neighbor and he suggested this place.
I made a phone call and was told that a tech would be out in 45 minutes. It was literally 45 minutes when I got a knock on the door. The tech was super friendly and explained everything to me, why the door was malfunctioning and how he would fix it and what I can do to make it better.
He took care of it in 30 minutes or so, and even went on to tighten every bolt and screw he could find, as well as readjust the sensors and everything else that wasn’t essentially part of the ‘job’. He even suggested that I get a coupon book that would give me a 20 dollar discount on the bill!
