The Beach Hut Deli

This place charges way too much $$$ for crappy sandwiches. My sandwich was made so sloppy that you couldn’t pick it up to eat without everything falling out. This was the first and last time we’ll be coming here.

Sandwiches were really good.
The staff was friendly.
Few games in the back for the kids.
A big tv for hubby to watch basketball.
Wasn’t crowded and our food was out quickly. Would eat here again

So I’ve had the run around with this place screwing me over BUT after my last two previous bad reviews of them, the supervisor I believe it was, messaged me in a very professional way, apologized and even offered to send me a gift card to make up for my terrible experience. I was very appreciative of that but for some reason didn’t believe she would. I then received the gift card in the mail (thank you beach hut deli). Still, the gift card sat there for a long while as I was reluctant about going back. Last night I decided to use the card and wow! I LOVED my experience. I was greeted by Raymond and Tera who were sooooo nice and friendly. Made me feel right at home. They made conversation, said hello to my son and made me laugh the entire time I was there. Tera made my sandwhich to perfection and her smile never left her face. These two are the reason I will be coming back. Thank you Tera and Raymond and thank you Beach Hut Deli for the giftcard. I appreciate it! I wasnt happy with my experiences before the the supervisor took care of me in the best way possible!!!

I come to beach hut deli often and do believe the food is good but every time I come here the service is extremely slow. I don’t understand why it takes 20 minutes to make a a sandwich.

I have been here many times and I felt it was time to write a review. The staff is super friendly, the sandwiches and salads are amazing. The happy hour deal right now is pretty awesome too (two craft pints for only $ 4.99). If you looking for a place with a cool vibe and to watch a game on one of their HD tv’s then this is the spot.

Killer sandwiches! These things are HUGE, you could feed a small army with a large!!! I recommend the Surfin Ahi, it’s an off menu sando. Albacore, cheese, bacon, avocado, cream cheese and all the fixin’s!

For a quick sandwich beach hut is the way to go. They have an upbeat staff and attitude. The beach vibe with the music cool.

The only reason I gave this place a star at all is because the food is good.
The employee’s are extremely unprofessional. For example the girl wearing booty shorts with her butt hanging out killed my appetite and the other girl who was annoyed at my mom ordering for 8 people. The second she was done ordering the girl runs off to sit on her boyfriends lap and sucks face right in front of my kids … hard to want to come back! DISAPPOINTED.

Great spot to stop for lunch. We stopped in randomly after visiting Kiva beach and enjoyed some great food. Beach bbq sandwich was delicious, we would recommend asking for less sauce though. The super salad and bbq chicken salad were also great and tasty.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
My family and I love to eat here. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.
The environment is clean and relaxing.
We always have a great time and experience here and we would recommend Beach Hut Deli to anyone looking for a yummy, gigantic, affordable lunch. Or even dinner. Haha. =P

When we first walked in the two girls that were working were talking about being buzzed and didn’t even acknowledge us. Completely unprofessional. This place is expensive for a sandwich shop, you would expect perfection but not here. Our sandwiches were made VERY poorly. Not giving my money away to them again and we’re local.

Since 2008 the service and food has been consistently incredible! I highly recommend the Surfin Bird and the Spicolli!

I’m not sure why the low score as I have been to several Beach Hut Delis across California and this one is the best by a wide margin. The Marley Nachos are a must for anyone uninitiated. The restaurant is clean, staff is friendly and there is typically only a wait when they get busy (look at the pictures… the meals are huge! You’d expect a little longer wait than the likes of a Subway). This is always one of my first stops when rolling into town.

Took 26 Guys on a Field Trip here during our Men’s Retreat in Lake Tahoe… It was Epic. A lot of guys got the Woody and loved it. I got the Malibu and a Liter of IPA and it was Amazing. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the ordering line took way too long because of only 1 person taking orders. We waited 20 minutes just to place our order. Otherwise the place was awesome.

For a sandwich shop this place is tasty. Manager Judy is the hardest working young girl I know. (GIVE HER A RAISE, SHE’S WORTH IT!)

Could have been rated higher. I’ve been here a few times and the service is always slow. The staff is relatively friendly however, though the last time I went in the cashier was clearly high. I first called to make a togo order and then waited as she took orders from cashiers in person, and then completely forgot that I was waiting on the phone. Finally gave up and just drove over to the restaurant myself, where (presumably) the same cashier had to ask me over and over what I just ordered (e.g. Did you say the medium? Oh no, the large? I’m sorry what kind of dressing?) I have no problem with restaurant employees getting a little high if its slow and boring, but this was ridiculous.
The nachos were terrible. The cheesesteak was very tasty (despite the fact that the bottom half of my sandwich was completely soaked in some sort of au ju). The chef salad was so so. Ordered a couple other things that were not memorable.
Good enough to go back for my third time last night, where the very friendly cashier told me it would be 15 minutes to get my order. I asked why, and she said that there was only one cook. Okay. There are three customers in here who each ordered one thing. Why should it take 15 minutes for me to get a sandwich? What would happen if a family of six walked in wanting sandwiches? Would it take over half an hour?
The place is right down the road from my house and I eat out constantly, so I’d like to be able to sign off on the Beach Hut Deli, but combining the crazy long wait times, the employees who clearly feel they can smoke weed and joke around the whole time, rather than expeditiously providing service, and the hit or miss menu, I think I’ve given up on them for good. Its a shame since there is potential here, and South Lake doesn’t have enough good food options.

This place is awful. Completely unprofessional staff, and horrible quality food. I had placed an order and we spent over twenty dollars. They completely sabotaged my order, the sandwiches were dressed horribly, and barely packaged in paper right. It’s borderline utterly unsanitary the way it happened. Total airhead young staff with no decent customer service skills at all, and when I had called to complain I spoke with this horrendous girl who told me to basically f**** myself. I am appalled by this establishment. Waste of money and time.

Got the Mesa Salad (since they were all out of half the ingredients to make the Super Salad) but I was happy I did because it was delicious (maybe a little salty)!
A bonus was that the Unilocal!Check-​In came with free personal size nachos.
Very happy.
They also have Happy Hour here every day.

Why haven’t I found this place sooner?
I ordered the Drakester and a cup of chili. Every bite was delicious to the very end, and they use Truckee Sourdough Co. bread.
Ambiance even better. I don’t want to spoil it, bit the reggae music and frisbee plates say it all.
All the workers were so kind and free wifi for us workaholics, this is a great hangout and so relaxing.
