Been here twice now. The salmon tacos and tamales are delicious(and so reasonably priced). Nice service too. It’s a great little secret spot for a casual meal.

The restaurant was full of customers and accommodated our group of 7 when we came from Chevys which had no interest in serving us or even addressing us! Los Mexicanos had excellent service and great food!

Horrible food and service! Cold meat on our tacos and nachos. Bland steak dinner plate. The only good thing was the Mexican hot chocolate but for $ 3 each and serving half a cup I feel ripped off. I will never come back here again and I advise all to stay away!

LOVETACOTUESDAYS! We ordered 11 tacos and two drinks and it was $ 15! Their carne asada tacos are the best. They also have a complete setup of salsas and condiments you can do yourself. Very authentic restaurant and is a must try for anyone in the mood

On paper, this place seemed like exactly what my son and I were looking for after a day of skiing: authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. The décor is fairly spartan, but we didn’t come for that. The waitress/hostess was extremely lovely, offering my son a sample of all of their fruit juices so he could make a decision. However, the main reason we came was for the food, and that was really bad. We both had shrimp burritos, inspired by another review complimenting them on their shrimp burritos. They were awful! There was an underlying weird taste. The burrito looked like it had been assembled by a machine, in that each ingredient occupied a particular region of the burrito rather than being combined. And worst of all, the shrimps were cold! I gave a good tip because the waitress was so lovely and provided great service. I meant to mention these problems to her, but by the time we were leaving, she had become swamped and so we didn’t have the opportunity. My advice to Los Mexicanos: fire the cook, get a competent person in there, and this place can be a success, if only because there is no other good authentic Mexican cuisine in Tahoe.

Little Mexican spot we found when we first moved to town! Not always quick but when I need that I call ahead. Always delicious!

Five. This place absolutely warrants five stars! We were visiting from out of town and hit it up. We were ooh’ing and aah’ing the whole time, exclaiming how it was — legit, hands-down — the best Mexican we’d ever had. And we consider ourselves quite the connoisseurs of Mexican. This place is definitely more than meets the eye. Don’t be fooled. In fact, I’m torn about raving for fear of letting this secret out. But, alas, for the good of humanity, I’ll share. Margaritas? Uh, yes please. Delicious. The chili rellenos? Simple, stuffed only with cheese, but O-M-G, divine. I mean, talk about less is more. They were simply the best. Not much in the way of parking, but we walked from our hotel, so I’m not sure about the parking situation. Don’t be in a hurry(but, c’mon, it’s lake life; no one should be in a hurry, anyway). Sit back and enjoy. Be friendly to the mostly Spanish-speaking staff — they’re super friendly, but English is definitely their second language. And enjoy the fantastic meal you’ll undoubtedly receive.

The place is small, the place isnt visible from the highway. But when you walk in your welcomed by a great hostess, with authentic mexican vibe by the music, the style the restaurant is an with a great atmosphere I felt like this is gonna be an amazing time. I was seated, asked for a beverage and given chips and salsa. I ordered the nachos for my wife and I to share, and wow! The potions were not what I was expecting. But very great food. Love it

Good food, friendly service. They provide complimentary chips and salsa before you order. Chips were a bit stale but the salsa was fresh and delicious. I ordered the Camarones Rancheros plate. It came with rice, beans, pic de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. The Shrimp was cooked very well and the sauce it was in was tasty enough, but the rice and beans were bland. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in Tahoe and want a standard mexican dish.

I know Unilocal doesn’t like 5 stars but when you get a great carnitas combo plate, and two Dos XX, for under $ 20, based on value, it’s 5, in my book.

Had my small intimate wedding in South Lake Tahoe. Since I live in California, I had to rely on word of mouth as far as the food I was going to order for my guests. My family is Mexican & we are pretty picky about Mexican food. I spoke to Andres, who turned around catering for us on ONE nights notice! We had a taco bar that was simple but elegant, and better yet… The food was GREAT! Not too greasy or overseasoned, and VERY tasty! We had tortillas, asada, chicken, rice, beans, salad, all the salsas & condiments, and fruit salad(which had papaya & strawberries in it, yum!) Their set up in our venue nice as well, and they were very professional. Lets just say that when my mom AND grandma are satisfied, all is well in the world! Great job, guys!

Worst experience ever! We waited almost an hour for food, then they messed up the order so we ended up leaving and going down the street to another restaurant. The hostess/waitress was on her phone the entire time, every other customer was just as pissed as we were.

We placed a to go order and they botched it. I called to let them know and they basically said it was my fault. Okay no big deal, there is like a million mexican joints in Tahoe. Wont go back again.

Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. If only the food wasn’t mediocre. Our server was good. However, the lady in the kitchen was extremely rude when she yelled at her for a mistake made. Completely unprofessional since everyone could see and hear. It took us ATLEAST10 minutes to pay since the one and only serve/cashier was by herself. If only she had help.

Better than a chain restaurant. Reasonably priced, portions and good tasting. A good neighborhood restaurant, definite come back.

Carnitas meat was too dry and chewy. Enchiladas were super tiny and lacked enchilada sauce. The refried beans were bland and oddly pale. Also it was more expensive than it should have been based on the amount of food we got.

I am a picky eater who needs to get the best bang for his buck in order to go and leave a good review for a food business. The portion sizes here are awesome for what you pay for and the different varieties of salsa are on point. Owners are very nice people. The horchata is also on point. Feel like this place is worth every penny. Definitely my favorite Mexican food spot in S.LAKE.

One of the best authentic Mexican food restaurants in S. Lake Tahoe. Everyone is friendly and happy here. My husband had the Carnitas and lived it. I had the chile relleno which was amazing. The red sauce over my lunch… uh mazing.
