Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort

I can’t believe I never noticed this place before! Situated right by the Lake, the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort is a gem! Stayed here for one night in a two bedroom suite. Our room was equipped with a separate 2 bed room that had its own bathroom and small kitchen and the main room which had the a pull out sleeper, full kitchen with dining table and a master bedroom. Definitely more than comfortable for five people. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, plates and cutlery in addition to a toaster, bottle opener and a tiny little dishwashing soap with a sponge. We were on the first floor and located close to an exit that led us towards Riva Grill and the Lake. Rooms were clean and neat on arrival, and everyone at the front desk was helpful and attentive.
The things I don’t particularly like included the fact that the property itself is a super maze! I definitely got lost plenty of times going down the hallways. Also, our key readers were constantly giving us trouble. We would get into one door and not into another.
Overall, wouldn’t mind coming to stay here again and enjoying more of the amenities on the property like the bar, pool/​sauna and restaurant.

Conflicting good and bad things about this hotel. As far as accommodations nice rooms with kitchenettes, a little weird to share a hall with another room but a nice stay close to restaurants and the lake. The worst thing was we were told to go to the concierge for a «welcome package» (warning keep walking you don’t want to the welcome package). So what we thought was maybe something nice was an obnoxious arrogant man shoving his deals down our throats. We were tired after a long drive and day skiing and just wanted a shower. But no we told this man several times we didn’t want the offers it had to get to the point where I had to get annoyed and sternly tell him no we are just not interested. He was being a smart ass telling us we should be able to take 1 day off work to take his offer, none of his business! Why would I want to buy a deal for something I didn’t or wouldn’t use or spend 2 hours on the little time I was there to listen to a ’ presentation’. I may not go back just cause of this experience. They really need to work on this if they want normal rental patrons.

Just got back from a 2 night stay. I always stay at the Timber Lodge so was a bit apprehensive about staying at this resort. We were 5 adults and 2 children. This place goes to the top of the list along with the Timber Lodge. We had fun things to do just at the resort itself to keep the kids busy. The resort is close to many of the activities that we planned, snow inner tubing, ice skating, snow ball fights and making snow men. We cooked large meals in our kitchen with ease. The staff was very helpful and accomadating and always to answer any questions. Very clean, comfortable and would not hesitate to stay there again. The only draw back is the 10:00 am check out, makes it a bit stressful to be packed and out that early. I would have loved to give it a 5 star, but the 10 am makes it tough.

Great place to stay. 2 bedroom units large enough for 2 couples comfortable. Pull out couch for little ones or 1 adult if needed. Recently upgraded rooms with new furnishings and kitchen appliances. Activities available for kids, bar in lobby, pool table, restaurant, pool and TVs in lobby. This is a timeshare place so be prepared for some solicitation to take tour. Great location.

Hotel itself was nice! But the fact that they hound you to get the «welcome» gift drove me insane. They lied to get is to the front desk, then slipped something under my door. Right before checking out we got a call. Then as we checked out, asked again. Like come on folks, this is dang near harassment.

Minus the check out, my boyfriend and I had such a great time here. Check in took about 20 minutes, but we were able to check in early so that was great. Parking was easy although, when we to dinner the parking lot looked like a zoo. The indoor pool and hot tub was nice, the location was great with everything being so close by. The room was nice and big along with a great kitchen and everything you’ll need to cook a simple dinner. The staff was really friendly and helpful looking forward to coming back!

Been coming here for over 15 years! Great service and very convenient to Heavenly, restaurants, and shopping.

Wanted to give 5 stars but minus one for 10am checkout which is a total bummer.
Rooms were very nice though, spacious and the bathroom was huge.
Very much enjoyed our fireplace and our little patio which was fun to build snowmen on and just to admire the snow. Was very cozy.
Our kitchen was nice and had all of our needs to make a basic meal.
Location was prime. Right by the lake and close enough to walk to a variety of places.
Overall really enjoyed our stay here.

Location is optimal and rooms (800sq ft) are nice. I was even thinking of overlooking the lukewarm hottub on New Year’s Eve until I realized how absolutely terrible the customer service is at this place.
After charging us $ 760 in fees after our stay, with some fees being as vague as $ 585 for «saturating a mattress,» we called countless times to contact someone to ask for pictures or any type of evidence of the accusations. After a week and a half they still are unable to give us any answers.

I had a great time @ this hotel when I came to stay for Snowglobe music festival. The hotel location is right by the lake. There are outdoor fire pits and wooden chairs that make for a great lounging experience with a beautiful view of the lake. I stayed on the 1^st floor & thought that the hotel was clean & comfortable. The bed was comfortable & the kitchenette was modern & functional. It had plates, pots, utensils, microwave, stovetop and refrigerator. The bedroom also had a full closet. The shower was clean & the bathroom had really nice lighting & large mirrors. The lobby has a gift shop that sells really affordable clothes, souvenirs & food. They also have a restaurant & a pool @ this hotel. The lobby was decorated with Christmas trees, fireplace & gingerbread houses.

It used to be five star resort. But after it became Diamond Resorts property, everything went bad to worse. Even being a timeshere owner, it’s so hard make a reservation nowadays.

Place is going under renovation & room was nice and modern.
After driving 5 hours to get to Tahoe, we check in and immediately wanted to rest on the beds from the long nap, we quickly realized that our room, length-​wise, was next to a stair well/​hallway. We heard kids clanking up and down the stairs as well as people dragging there luggage and rolling it thru. Laying on a bed with one’s ear to the mattress these sounds are amplified and it was annoying and impossible to take a quick nap.
We later went down to the front desk and politely asked if we could change rooms due to the noise. The clerks were pleasant but NOT helpful, stating that they had never heard that complaint before and offered to change our room but wanted to charge us $ 40 !!! They stated that it was there policy,
What happened to customer service?!?
Nice location & nice for families, but NOT for couples or single people, plenty of other nicer places to go to in Tahoe, and we have

The hotel cleanliness and location was 5 stars but the customer service brought it down to a two.
My family and I work very hard to be shareholders in Diamond Resorts but I felt mistreated bc I was not an «elite» member. To really receive great customer service you must be filthy rich and I guess making it rain for people to smile at you.
After driving 9 hours to the resort… I checked in early and requested week ahead of time a lake view studio if I arrived early enough. The front desk was about to assign me the room I requested but Lisa, this other lady, chimed in and said no please don’t give her that room bc she is not an Elite. What?!? I train people on customer service for a living. Ahem… Lisa, why don’t you try saying something «sorry mam, those are occupied already.» Don’t offer me the room and then take it away bc I wasn’t rich enough for you. How rude! First come first serve or at least speak with kinder words rather than making me feel poor person spending a 280 dollar a night resort stay.
Concierge try to suck you into spending more as a member of diamond. I expect that… that’s normal. But there is a lot of disjoint communication on basic knowledge you’d expect from a concierge service. What time is the shuttle service coming? Concierge goes «ugh…10 am.» WRONG! Shuttle came at 9:45 am. Person I tipped a couple bucks too” but maybe if I tipped a $ 5 I would’ve got the correct time perhaps?
Ended up on the 1030 shuttle. When I stated the concierge was wrong, we got a blank stare. The proper way would be to APOLOGIZE, admit you made a mistake, APOLOGIZE.
Oh checkout… wanted a late check out to be moved from 10 am to 1030 am. Among there hundreds of rooms supposedly they limit only 10 to a late checkout in a red book, but of course… if you’re elite… you make the VIP top 10 list, Sheryl made sure to remind me I’m not platinum, nor gold, nor elite so get out at 10 am. When check is at 4 pm. They are strict on only allowing you to have the room exactly for 18 hours for $ 280 for a studio.
Who cares if you are in pain or late start… won’t get any hospitality there just plain rude customer service
There employees need a Disneyland training on customer service and learn how to properly and politely interact with their guests for the kind of money their charging

This review is for an 800 Sq Ft 1 Bedroom with full kitchen.
Pro: Everything here was top notch. Beautiful Newly re-​modeled rooms, extra friendly staff. Engineering arrived 5 minutes after we called.
Cons: Every door has a little lobby shared by 2 rooms. So you have bang on this outside door, and both rooms will answer the door. Or they won’t hear you at all. So you call them, except that the cell reception isn’t so great. So there’s that.

First and foremost, my wife booked the reservation without knowing what this place is all about. This place is advertised as a hotel but its a hook into something larger; TIMESHARES!
Everything about this place screams sell, sell, sell. Shortly after check in your ushered over to the concierge who welcomes you to «Diamond Resorts» and begins offering you coupons, free meal tickets, $ 150 worth of «Diamond Cash» and leads on worthwhile trips/​outings. They hit us with so much stuff my spidey sense started to tingle; especially when they start referring to you as a «lead» instead of a «guest» at their hotel.
All these items are offered to entice/​invite you to a 90 minute sales presentation for purchasing one of their timeshares. (At a cost of $ 25 if you do not show and they’ll run a credit report on you to determine your credit worthiness) They claimed just by sitting through there sales presentation, whether you purchase or not, you’ll receive a 3 day/​2 night stay at any of their resorts for free.
The hotel costs were pretty low, so that should have been a clue that something else was at play here. All in all, it might be okay for the right person– by we were not in the market for a timeshare and we were put off by the bait and switch.

Trying to check in at 1pm. Understand that check in time is 4. We were told we’d get a call when the room was ready or we could call. At 3 we called, only to be told NOT to call them and that our room would not be guaranteed by 4pm.
I will update this review if we ever get to check in, but thus far the employees there are horrible at the front desk. And we are owners. No words can explain how extremely pissed off I am right now.

I don’t even know where to start with this review. Me and my girlfriend were looking for a nice place to stay for the weekend, so we booked this resort through

From the moment we checked in, we were told to go to the «concierge» to pick up our welcome packets. Little did I know, the «concierge» are diamond international shark salesmen, who are so persistent about having you go to their meeting the day of check out and trying to sale you on their time share. So the guy gave me the welcome packet with a few discounts to surrounding food and activities, but the second after he hounded me and really tried to peer pressure me into going to the meeting. I told him the first time I wasn’t interested, then he asks why, and then I told him again I had plans to go hiking. He just doesn’t stop and at this point I’m like thinking, bro just leave me alone please. Luckily, my significant other aka my savior was able to create an excuse to help pull me away. I truly felt like I was harassed by these salesmen.
Room keys. Constantly decensor and requires you to go to the front desk to get replacement keys. I had to replace my set of keys once during my one night stay.
Parking. Better get there early or you’re out of luck, they have way more rooms than parking spots, so if you get there too late like after 7pm, you’re out of luck. This doesn’t make any sense.
Location. The location is actually very good. Close to the beach and a renting shop where you can rent jet skis paddle boards kayaks. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. A mile down from the casinos. Walking distance to the beach and eatery is the best thing about this place.
My room. Double Queen bed «studio.» They gave me one of the worst rooms in the whole resort. We were on the first floor corner, didn’t have a good view. The refrigerator was broke. The room was very small from the price we paid and the fact they called it a studio. The studio is extremely small only 298 square feet, it is no different in size from your room with 2 beds at any cheap motel. They only have the right to call it a studio because it had a countertop for cooking, anything else was no different from what they carry at any other hotel. Really feel like I got tricked here from the photos. Despite going through two doors to get into the room, the walls are very then. Babies were crying at night and were heard easily, children wake up in the morning and made lots of noise. If you didn’t get the point, the walls are very thin.
Staff. This is where my review gives them one star. I had proof from
which stated, «your booking is guaranteed and paid in full.» I talked to one staff member to clear this up and he stated he would clear off the extra charges the hotel was charging me as a daily service fee. This has been the first hotel ever to charge me EXTRA service charges after what I paid on
. When I go to checkout, I talk to the manager to just make sure I’m not charged extra. The manager tells me something completely different and says he is going to charge me despite the fact that I showed him email proof from
everything I paid. Then he tries to side with me by saying, «I know how you feel,» when he’s just trying to tell me what I want to hear. The manager was very condescending, did not hear me out, and had this vibe of «I’m right, you’re wrong.» Well they went ahead and still charged me extra despite paying in full.
Well at least I know where not to go next time I go to Lake Tahoe.

So the actual property is nice enough, but amazingly average. However, it’s has loads of potential. Sadly, I will never know as the staff and security members are mostly rude. I skip over those interactions and move to check out, which is 1000AM. 9:58 the phone rings and the lady tells us that the maid is waiting outside our door to start cleaning. Mind blowing… OH!!! And we received harassing calls WEEKLY from them concerning their time share. BUT WAIT, THERES MORE! There’s more rooms than parking spaces, so if you get back late, be prepared to park your car across the street ¼ mile away in the dark with those lovely south Lake Tahoe crack heads rolling around. aaaaand making the switch to one star…
Crap… Forgot the parking arm came down on my car… Well over a grand in damage… See pic in the picture area.

First off, this is a vacation timeshare. We knew that going in so there were expectations that they would try to sell us a timeshare in exchange for our time. In return we would get some compensation.
The room was adequate and felt like an Embassy Suites without the free breakfast, room service, or daily cleaning. The bedroom was clean and organized. The 1 bedroom suite that we stayed at felt like a home away from home with a kitchenette with a stove, microwave, fridge/​freezer and a family room.
We happen to stay at a handicap accessible room (not by choice). It was good to see all the extras you get as a handicap. These included an alert monitor display so you knew if there was a fire/​emergency, lower bed, walk in-​shower that drained into the the shower and bathroom, and kitchen shelves that lowered within an arms reach.
The indoor & outdoor heated and jointed pool was nice — not too many of those around Tahoe. There was a pool table and a convenient on-​site restaurant. The store was larger than I expected for the hotel with useful items.
As for the sales pitch, they tell you it’s 90 to 120 minutes but it took us 165 minutes… There are 3 rounds of this selling: sales person, supervisor, and manager. They were all nice about it — but you just need to give up your time for the discount/​special. I day dreamed through most of it and nodded my head. At the end I said, no thank you with a list of valid reasons that they couldn’t address. We were off on our way after repeating that 3 times (for each sales pitch). I can see that for ¹⁄₃^rd of the sales staff, they were that generic used salesman character and I’m certain that attendees wouldn’t like the aggressive tactic from them. For us we knew what we were getting into and enjoyed our discount and future free accommodation!

Slightly over priced in my view. The rooms are nice but no breakfast, and mainly with no view beside a wall. And the 20 dollars for resort fee a bit steep especially when you done use any of the facility. It’s however a great place, but not sure why, just didn’t feel at ease inside. I actually moved the next day for a hotel with view for the exact same price.
