David has a wide range of photography and videography experience. Locally, he has shot everything from non profit and corporate events to sporting events, such as the USSA National Ski Championships and the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament. David also has photojournalism experience, having covered political events and press conferences in Northern California. However, he got his start as a professional photographer shooting weddings in Lake Tahoe and continues to do so on a regular basis.

Dave was absolutely amazing. He was very patient and laid back with out massive group (three generations and 13 people). He got every single picture that we wanted and didn’t rush us at all. Dave was very helpful in getting all the photos to be as aesthetically pleasing as possible. (He even scouted out some of the best locations at out house when he arrived 10 minutes early!)
We had a huge group and everyone actually had a great time taking all the photos– a task that c an be tedious with the wrong photographer.
Dave returned all the photos, edited, to us in about a week. They were outstanding.
I would highly recommend using Go West Foto. He was a great deal and a great find.

During our vacation in SLT for 4th of July we booked Dave to take photos of our 3 month old and had the best experience! He was professional and very laid back as photographing an infant poses a few challenges regular photography does not;) he was very patient with our baby. The photos were back quickly within 2 weeks and were excellent! So happy we got to document our baby’s first Tahoe experience with quality photos! Good job Dave!

David was very patient with our lab and took a variety of beautiful pictures. He was in constant contact with me setting up the time and location and was very fast on editing and delivering the pictures. I would highly recommend him!!!

In a few words, David is talented, reliable, and a pleasure to work with — all qualities that helped make our June 2014 wedding in South Lake Tahoe a day to remember. Looking for a photographer last fall, I came across his website though Unilocal and was impressed from the get-​go by his galleries (which happen to be heavier on his landscape photography, but don’t let this deter you if you are looking for wedding photography), furthermore, his prices are extremely reasonable.
From the first phone call I felt confident that he would treat our special day with needed care and attention. He showcased us and our loved ones on our special day, while being flexible and accommodating to each request. He created a no-​stress environment for us, and mostly snapped away without needing us to spend our entire day being pulled away for this shot, or that shot. What he captured was the day in action and all of those fleeting moments I truly want to remember about our wedding day.
Our edited photos were gorgeous, and he completed everything when promised, including our DVDs with all the photos and access to our online gallery. He’s contacted us via email at every stage to ensure we were happy with the end results. I’d hire him again in a heartbeat!

Dave crushed it! He was able to eek out a ton of amazing photos from my photo-​averse family at a vacation photo session at Kiva beach (we could only handle about 45 min. of posing). He was really easy going and made everyone feel comfortable. He was very patient with my wild 3 year old boy and fussy baby too. He had us all meet at 6:45p, which to me felt very late, but the color was perfection, this guy knows his stuff! The sunset lighting made everyone glow and there were no harsh shadows or exposure problems. The best part though was Dave’s follow-​through, just a few days later we got an email where we could see previews of all the pics and get excited, then a few days after that we were able to download the full resolutions with full rights. Some photographers make you wait for the full res shots or pay extra or watermark it, but not Dave, he was fair priced and didn’t mess around with that bs. Overall an awesome experience!

My fiancé found David and asked him to shoot our engagement photos. Since we were staying closer to King’s Beach, he met us on the western side of the lake, at a park nearby (I think it was called Sugar Pine Park).
He went early and shot some beautiful stills of the area, and stayed back to do the same. An as for our pictures, he did a wonderful job! My guy CANNOT smile for a camera, but David was great at capturing the real smiles when we weren’t even looking.
David was easygoing, open to suggestions, and has a great eye for his work. Would definitely recommend him!

David was the photographer for my wedding in September. He was very laid back and easy to work with, willing to do anything we wanted. However, after the fact I realized that there were several family portraits that weren’t shot, and some of the little detail photos of rings/​flowers/​etc that weren’t done, which I had assumed were kind standard wedding photos. In hindsight, I should have made a list of the specific shots I wanted. He got lots of great candid photos throughout the ceremony and reception. And he gave us all of the images, which is awesome. Overall we enjoyed working with him.

David helped us shoot a wedding portrait session this August. He suggested a great spot for us in South Lake Tahoe. It’s a large meadow with a trail going all the way to the beach. David is super cool and easy going. He accommodated our needs very well and did a great job taking professional photos. I really like the color and light of his photo. I would recommend him to you.

Dave shot our wedding video last October at Sugarbowl Ski Resort. Prior to the wedding day, we met with him to discuss key moments we wanted to make sure he captured and he was extremely professional and easy-​going during that meeting. On the wedding day, he worked closely with our photographers to capture each moment without interfering with their work, and vice versa. We didn’t have to worry about anything. I should also say we would have used him for the photography also, but we had already hired our photographers before we found our videographer. From the photos I have seen of his, they are impeccable and he would make an excellent wedding photographer also. After the wedding, Dave worked extra hard to finish the video editing and get us the final product in time for a trip home so we could have it to show family — we were so impressed with the video he made that captured the entire night, but we realized that we wanted the uncut versions of the ceremony, speeches, and first dance. He added those as separate DVD menu options, which is so great because when we want to show friends and family an overview of the entire night, we have the edited video he made, but when we want to watch the more personal moments, we can without forcing everyone to watch our 45 minute long ceremony. He also added an awesome surprise ending which I won’t say what it was in case he does it for you, but it was so special and really was a highlight for us to watch after the fact. I would definitely recommend him!

Dave did a photo session for my family this past October. He suggested a great location as we wanted to do something outside. He spent just over an hour with us getting a bunch of beautiful photos with different backgrounds. I told him I wanted a lot of my son, who is 2 and warmed up to Dave quickly so he was able to get some great shots of him. I thought his prices were very reasonable and I had my photos within a week. I would definitely recommend him!

In searching for a videographer who could capture those special moments at my wedding last summer, I came across Go West Foto. Dave was an awesome guy to work with, he captured the essence of our wedding on video, from the start to the finish. He really had captured all the important moments of the day, and you need those reminders on video as a bride because your wedding day flies by! When we got the final video, there was one small part of the day that I felt was important to me that was left out, and I asked him about adding it, and he did with no issues. He is an easy going guy and very helpful to work with and was very likeable to all the guests at our wedding. Now we have a beautiful video for years and years that will remind us of our special day that only happens once in a lifetime! Thanks for all your hard work Dave, we love our Go West Foto wedding video!

I was looking for a photographer for my wedding, I wanted to hire someone local that way they were familiar with the area. I came across this listing on craigslist. I was skeptical at first, so I checked out the website. I enjoyed all the photo he had, but what bought me was the photos of his dog. I am a dog person myself and decided to meet with David. After our meeting, he was hired. At my wedding David got so many compliments from my guests, and he was just a joy to have. He captured every moment that I could think of, even moments I forgot about. His photos of my wedding was beautiful, and I’m completely happy with the result. Thank you again, David!!!
