I had family property passed down from 1951 in South Lake Tahoe. The time was right for me to build and I called 4 contractors and decided on Garrick and G & S Construction. He was very patient in answering my questions that first call as well as upfront and direct. No games. Right there I felt he was the guy to build. And that was the best choice I made for my house. He guided me the whole way from blueprints to permits to banks to materials and design modifications and selections on surface materials. Great eye for patterns, textures, colors, appliances, lighting fixtures, and overall design harmony. He greatly exceeded what I had in mind and the challenge to build within my overall budget, He took on that challenge and delivered a wonderful house that was not easy to build. I highly recommend him and G & S Construction.
A side note. I was with him at one of the public utilities getting the plans approved. Garrick had to take a call outside and the utility official asked if he was building my house. I said yes and she said he was one of the best contractors working in South Lake Tahoe. That says it all.

Garrick and I have been friends for many many years. He has always been a person of integrity and action. His work ethic is second to none. He never puts things off tell tomorrow when it can be done today. He is a person of quality as well as an absolute craftsman and professional. I have had the pleasure of collaborating with him on a few projects now and love his fearless approach to design. He’s not afraid to be different and the results are stunning. Hire him already!

I just cannot say enough good things about G&S Construction. I had a problem with a leaky roof which turned out to be a deteriorating chimney box. Garrick came out, evaluated the situation and gave a very fair bid for repair. Once the work began, Garrick discovered there had been a chimney fire. I was grateful he was honest, knowledgeable about potential dangers and knew what needed to be done next. He helped me coordinate the efforts of other professionals needed to address the stovepipe and sheet metal issues. Then Garrick’s team completed the finishing carpentry work to finish the project. Garrick is a true professional; he is an excellent communicator, has prompt follow-​up, delivers what he has promised and the quality of work is superior. I recommend Garrick and G&S Construction without any reservations. I feel comforted in knowing I can safely have fires in my fireplace and I no longer have a leaky roof! Thank you Garrick!

Garrick Terrell and his right hand man, Ryan are fantastic. From the time we had our first conversation, I knew Garrick was someone I could work with. He didn’t talk down to me since I am a female and treated me with the utmost respect every time we talked. We now have the most beautiful home in South Lake Tahoe. Garrick is honest and fair and that’s hard to come by these days. We have dealt with many contractors in the past and he is by far the best we’ve ever used. I would recommend him to anyone.

Our South Lake Tahoe property on El Dorado Avenue has been in our family since the 1970’s and it has always been our dream to build a vacation home to enjoy. After inheriting the meadow property in May of 2012 we were excited to begin the building process. We approached G&S Construction about building on our lot and were immediately impressed with Garrick Terrell’s professional attitude and astute knowledge of building in the Tahoe area. We submitted our house plans to him for a bid and when we met to discuss the plans Garrick brought us a very detailed «spec sheet» on materials, construction, and costs. After our meeting with Garrick we knew we found someone we could trust and work well with.
We encountered some hurdles as we were trying to obtain a building allocation though the CTC land bank. Garrick was instrumental in helping us submit our plans to the city and assisted us with expediting the building allocation process. Without his effort we would have never started to break ground before the October first deadline. Garrick also assisted us with other city agency issues which saved us a lot of money.
During construction Garrick always kept us informed of the latest stages of progress. His crew and sub contractors were very efficient, courteous and productive with top notch results.
The day we starting moving in Garrick made a point to stop by and see how things were going. If anyone is thinking of building in Tahoe we highly recommend G&S Construction.

I cannot sing their praises enough! A good, honest and reliable contractor can be hard to come by but G&S Construction ended my search. From the first contact, they were attentive and responsive and went above and beyond the call of duty to get my small renovation done. I was doing this project as a surprise for my husband and they were so flexible in working with my schedule to keep it a surprise. They came highly recommended after I saw a custom home being built in record time and inquired on who their contractor was. We live in a 40 year old Tahoe home with a lot of ‘character,’ to say the least and sometimes we’ll start projects only to find a really strange construction road blocks. G&S helped turn this part of my home from trash to class. The contractor who performed the renovation (Ryan) was extremely professional, respectful, polite and kept me informed throughout the job. G&S Construction built our family home here in South Lake Tahoe and we can’t say enough good things about Garrick and the entire crew. Their attention to our budget and all our needs during the process were dealt with at the highest level of professionalism and respect. An important fact to share is the «after final» care that we continue to receive from Garrick. He is a real advocate for the homeowner. Lake Tahoe construction is not for the weak of heart. There are many, many nuances and tons of red tape to weave through is this very «protected» area. You need to be able to trust in a General Contractor to have this network established to get through this normally timely and expensive process in order to have a successful project. Not only have I recommended G&S, but I’ve also hired them to construct projects for my wife and I around town. Even though I have a background in Construction, I still resort to allowing G&S to handle my projects from foundation to finish. While it’s a hobby for me, it’s a profession for them and it shows in the final product.

G & S Construction was one of the contractors on the Knightbridge house in South Lake Tahoe. I have had the pleasure of seeing, first hand, the dedication, committment, and quality of work that this company performs.
There were many extra requirements, unforeseen at the beginning of the project, that G&S Construction adapted for. Permit requirements, material requirements, taking out and reinstatlling requirements, all were done with graciousness, style, and professionalism.
When other companies, and I have seen this, would have given up, given in, and/​or dissauded the owner to take a different direction. The head of G & S Construction worked tirelessly fulfilling the owner’s vision.
