Clark Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning

They have been out 5 times, then left us with no heat on a holiday weekend after declaring it fixed! Their service manager must think that customers grow on trees!
Called to get someone out and was told a day or 2 !
I could understand if we had never used them, but 5 times!!!
This company is the worst!

Clark Heating, you will rue the day you crossed me.
This wasn’t a choice on my part. I was forced into business with these guys for a warranty service on my home.
I recently purchased a few homes in the Tahoe area, one of which had thermostat issues. Luckily my warranty company was easy to work with, and they told me someone from Clark would be calling me within a day to set up an appointment. They also gave me the phone number in case I needed to call them. At the time I thought it was ridiculous. Why would I need to call them? Surely they would be competent enough to call me within a day?
Wrong.
So 2 days later I call Clark and ask what the issue was. Kristin, the office she-​beast flapped her jowls (yep, you can hear them over the phone) at me that there was a mistake, and they told the warranty company they wouldn’t be able to make an appointment with me.
So I call the warranty company, and they had no idea what i was talking about. Clark NEVER called them. They apologized and said they would get someone to set a new appointment with me. I hung up the phone and Kristin from Clarks called me 10 minutes later, apologizing for the mixup and saying they would now make an appointment with me (for 6 days from that time). I asked if they had gotten ahold of the warranty company, and she said yes. This I found out later was a lie. My warranty company was scrambling behind the scenes to find a new heating company and never called Clarks back.
(As a sidenote 12 hours later my warranty company found me an appointment for THE NEXT DAY with another heating firm) but at this point I was already locked in for clarks and had driven HALFWAY BACK TO LOS ANGELES, THANKS CLARKS!)
Fast forward to the day of my appointment, almost a week later. I had to drive BACK to SLT from LA, this is another 8 hours of driving each way. My appointment is for 8 – 12. A nice big window for someone to arrive in.
I call at 12:05. Kristin answers again. She has no update, other than the technician is running late. I ask for a new time. She has none. At this point I blow up. Screwed up timetables, missed appointments, is there anything you guys can do right!!!
Kristin is extremely rude to me, acting as if she’s done nothing wrong when it’s very obvious that she’s done EVERYTHING wrong. If this girl is the one managing the office, you better believe that place is lucky to not be on fire at any given moment.
She places me on hold (I find out later she put me on hold to call my warranty company, as she is supposed to keep them updated but she forgot because shes incompetent trash) for about 10 minutes.
I contact my warranty company and complain because now I’ve driven all the way back up here and she has no update. THEY have to call her before she’ll commit to a new time of 2PM.
The guy comes shortly after 2pm, which I’m happy with. He repairs the issue quickly and points out some other stuff. I explain that I live in LA and I may not be around for a longer repair. He says no problem and sets an appointment for another 8 days from now, same time, 8 – 12. I tell him I may have to set an appointment with another company if he can’t be there quicker, but assure him I will call if I need to cancel. We part ways.
I decide because I liked the technician so much that I was willing to forgive the company. It can’t be the whole company’s fault that Kristin is so woefully inept, can it?
I call on Friday morning and ask to speak to him, to make sure we are completely on the same page about the repairs and whats going on, since I will not be on the property. I was told he was not on site, but my number would be passed to him and he would contact me back. I call back at 6, no answer.
I leave that sunday, somewhat confident that there are no further instructions I need, seeing as the technician told me we were good to go.
I’m pretty stupid, aren’t I?
I decide to give another call into the office today, to see why my call wasn’t returned and to make sure there wasn’t anything I needed.
Kristin answered again, had no idea why I wasn’t called, and told me that someone would need to be at my house for my appointment.
I yelled at her.
Clark, get your shit together and fire this fucking garbage charity case named kristin.
Anyone want a heating vent repair job?

We purchased a vacation home Oct 2013. It has radiant heat which is a whole new world for us. Since their stickers were all over all the equipment we assumed they put the system in and wanted to establish a relationship with them. It’s been 13 months and every time we have had an issue or even try to schedule them way in advance for when we will be up they will not book an appointment and are often very rude.
We have a new leak in the flooring and I called them up on Thurs despite to get them to come and basically told them it’s an emergency and that I was okay with emergency fees and or overtime. The best she could tell me to do (which is what they have said EVERY time) is to «try» calling Sat at 8 am to see if they can fit us in. So I ask why I can’t be put in a wait-​list now on Thursday since I live 3hrs away and don’t want to drive up for a «maybe» and she said because they don’t know what kind of emergencies there might be. I replied I think leaking radiant heat in a home for a week is a bit of an emergency so why can’t I be in the cue.
I am soooooooooo done trying. Why I even thought to call them a 6^th time in a year is beyond me when McGee Mechanical has always returned my calls and are going to help me this time around.

Had them replace a faucet and fix a boiler problem. Got same day service. Paid about the same rate (slightly less) as the other major plumbing company. Faucet took longer than I thought it would (plumber seemed confused by the new puttyless install). Polite. On time. Boiler fix leaked a bit.

We got to our Tahoe vacation house Friday afternoon, and found that our thermostat had failed since the last time we were up. It was freezing in the house. Of course, it failed during the coldest week Tahoe has seen in some time. We found the toilets frozen solid. Fortunately, the water had been off, because when we turned on, water came pouring out of our first floor ceiling in the kitchen and bathroom. We quickly turned it off before too much damage was done. Too late to expect anyone to come out that evening, so we hunkered down without water for the evening. We used the interweb to find a plumber that worked weekends. We called but got the answering service.
We called Clark at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and they said they could send someone out by 1 p.m. Receptionist was pleasant and courteous. Technician, Tom, showed up around 11 and procceded to look over the design of the house, where the water had poured through the ceiling and walls, and the best place to look for the break. It was obvious the break was in the upstairs walls or first floor ceiling, but where? Looked to me like it could have been in a number of places. Tom found the spot he thought would be the best place to start. He cut through the drywall in the bathroom ceiling, and BINGO, found a broken pipe. He proceeded to fix the break, then turned on the water, and quickly heard a second leak sraying inside the wall. He cut through the drywall and repaired the second break. He then turned the water on again, then checked the entire house, washing machine, bathrooms, etc, looking for additional leaks. Once convinced that everything was okay, he cleaned up the drywall mess and proceeded to replace our thermostat, and made sure the heater was working properly.
Tom was very knowledgeable, efficient, thorough, professional, and very clean. He put on and took off boot covers each time he entered or exited the house, placed tarps to make clean up easier, and vacuumed up after he was done. He was all done and gone by 1:30ish. The total cost for parts and labor was very reasonable and service was excellent. We would not hesitate to call them again.

Very disappointed. We called for an estimate to fix a few things while our new house was in escrow. The estimate was for about $ 1500. Most of the other quotes were in the $ 350 — $ 1000 range.
After some time went by we got a bill in the mail for $ 90 for writing us an estimate. Seriously??? We were never told that getting an estimate would cost money and we never signed any invoice or anything. Despite that, they keep calling and asking when we are going to pay.
I recommend Rudy’s Plumbing, Bob’s Plumbing, Drew’s Plumbing or Nixon. Avoid Clark!!!

Good work and well organized and reliable

I am staying at our cabin in South Lake Tahoe with guests for the 4^th of July holiday. When we arrived, there was low water pressure, and by the third day (4^th of July) all the pressure was gone and there was no water at all in the house. This was a tough situation given that we had 5 adults and 7 kids staying here!
At 7:50am on July 5, I called Clark. The lady who answered told me someone would be in at 8:00am and would be dispatched to arrive between 8am and noon. At 8:05, a Clark truck pulled up. Dustin, the Clark plumber, was friendly and knowledgeable, and took care of the problem quickly.
I’m sure all of the Clark people are good, but if you’re lucky enough to get Dustin, rest assured you’ll be well taken care of.

Horrible customer service and not worth the time of day.
I had them come out 3 weeks ago to fix my shower and toilet because they continually kept backing up and over flowing. They came out, pulled the toilet, snaked the line and everything looked good. Sadly though, after I took a shower not more than 15min later the tub still wouldn’t drain and then water started seeping from the toilet all over my bathroom floor.
When I called Clark back a couple of days later and told them about the problem they told me they would send somebody out to come check on it. NEVER HAPPENED!!!
I call again and their on-​call technician calls back and says he’ll be over within the allotted time-​slot but never showed up. No phone call, no knock on the door, nothing. Then he calls 3 hours later to say he got caught up on a previous call and that he would be right over to check it out but because it’s Sunday the labor rate is $ 178/​hr and I have to pay him on the spot instead of having the bill mailed to my permanent home address because the house that has the problem is just a vacation home. He says that’s something you have to take up with the office tomorrow ‘cuz there’s nothing he can do about it.
Total and complete BS if you ask me. You supposedly fixed the problem the first time you jackass, and now you want to charge me again!!! I don’t think so.
Best advice, find someone else. These guys are a scam.

I am pleasantly surprised by the service I was given by the folks at Clark!
I had read the 1 less than favorable review and wanted to think it was a mistake on one or more levels. Well since I had vistors coming and needed to know the furnace was working correctly I called them.
They sent over a technician and he troubleshot the furnace and found air passage had lint and dirt, cleaned it up and Im a happy homeowner!
I will call them next time without hesitation.

I had people staying at my house who told me that the furnace was blowing cold air into the house, not warm air. I was not in town and since it was cold they needed heat.
I called Clark Plumbing Heating and Air. Francisco arrived and took a look at the furnace. He told me that it would be $ 800 for him to fix the furnace, but that he really should replace it because it is old (My husband says 15 years old is NOT that old for furnace). Well I wanted to wait until I came back home to figure out what I wanted to do with my furnace. So I paid him the $ 176 DOLLARS over the phone for evaluating the furnace.
Then I came home. Noticed the furnace was unpluged. I plugged it in and the furnace started right up perfectly. It has been several days and there hasn’t been a problems since.
I later found out the people that were at my house had confused the air intake for a heating vent, and that is why it was not blowing hot air. I’m not too happy with THEM either!
