History

Established in 1970.

Alpine Carpet One Floor & Home has been serving South Lake Tahoe for more than four decades. The founders & owners are Peter & Margareth Friederici. Peter and Margareth’s son Paul and his wife Rachelle now run the business. We were privileged to become a Carpet One member in 1991 and have enjoyed being part of such a wonderful group. Our store employs several teams of professionally-​trained installers, plus apprentices who work with each installer. We always stand behind not only our products, but also our installation, by keeping up with the industry standards. Five stars. Thomas was great to work with — professional, pleasant, easy to work with, and no surprises. The installers were amazing — really did a good job. My office is transformed by my new carpet, and the process was pleasant and easy. I would definitely recommend Alpine Carpet.

Top of my list for flooring and installation, Norm and his crew are fantastic. After quite a long search for flooring that would compliment my knotty pine walls, from Tahoe to Reno to Sacramento, Alpine Carpet One had just what I needed. They allow the customer to take home very large squares of flooring (not those little tiny pieces that do not show enough). The order process was efficient.
The highlight is the excellent and trustworthy work of the installers, with Luis in the lead. These men really care about the quality of their work, and the finish trim work-​baseboard and transition pieces, are fantastic.
Whether you are a homeowner (as I am) or a vacation home owner, this is your definite go-​to for home remodel!

After my post the owner, Paul, contacted me. We talked about the installation, he came out and looked at the job done. Paul was very nice & helpful. He offered a discount for the job done or to have the floor reinstalled correctly. I chose to have the floor reinstalled the direction I preferred. We inspected the floor after installation & everything was great. Things can always go wrong, but its a good business that deals with the issues well. I have had two separate water intrusion events (flooding) into my Lake Village home. Both times Thomas and his staff have exceeded expectations. I should know because I am in the disaster response business myself.

I’ve been working with the folks at Alpine Carpet One for more than a year now during a home remodel. I was in again today and once again, they have surpassed all my expectations! Paul, Norm, and all the folks there go out of their way to help! When selecting flooring, Paul spends as much time as necessary to generate options and has amazing product knowledge!
Before discovering Alpine Carpet One, I visited many flooring stores and ran into salespersons who seemed at least a little impatient when I asked too many questions or took too much of their time… and their product knowledge was lacking.

My family just used Alpine Carpet One to put in laminate flooring in our vacation house. Thomas at carpet one has been so helpful, and made it easy to have floors put in while we are were not in Lake Tahoe.
